  1. My preference is Darnold, Allen and Mayfield go1-3 and the Bills only have to move up to 4 to land Rosen. As such they dont have to part with next year’s 1st in the trade.
  2. Did you read the article? Who said anything about contact.? In the past what I said about would have been ruled an incomplete pass. With the new rules it’s a complete pass and - one would assume - a fumble. I’m wondering how happy the fans are going to be when what used to be an incomplete pass is not ruled a fumble and your team has a shot at losing posession? Ground can always cause a fumble in so long as contact didn’t cause the player to go down.
  3. The thing that stood out to me in your assessment of Rosen was when you said that you’d have to consider whether or not you’d support him if he was drafted by the Bills. This suggests to me that your big issue with him isn’t his ability or his QB play but something he said. You don’t like the guy as a person - not an NFL prospect. If it was just about his QB play of course you’d support him and hope for the best even if youd didn’t think he’d turn out to be a quality starter. That it’s somehow personal to you colors everything else you’ve said about him.
  4. The new catch rule is going to be problematic. If they say that a player has posession with a knee hitting the ground or reaching out then the moment the ball pops free when it hits the ground that has to be ruled a fumble. Why do I have a feeling the NFL wants to make the rule so the ball is considered a catch without maintaining control when the player hits the ground but also doesn’t want to rule it a fumble when the ball comes free from hitting the ground?
  5. For some reason I keep thinking we’re going to be hearing about Shady being traded to the Giants as part of the deal to move up. If they want Barkley a nice conciliation prize might be Shady (in addition to a boatload of picks.)
  6. Yeah, he’s the first gi that popped into my head. One of the greatest kickoff returners I’ve ever seen.
  7. I like how Whaley gets blamed if a poster peecieves something he did last draft as being bad but if the pick worked out McD gets the credit.
  8. Which is just the way the Bills want it I’m sure. Wouldn’t surprise me if they’re the ones purposely putting out contradictory information.
  9. Mira not one less bidder. Nothin is stopping the Jets from moving up to 2. Giants could get some more picks and still get their guy at 3.
  10. Well, Rob Johnson has a SB ring, why not EJ?
  11. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2764725-josh-rosen-looks-sharp-throwing-the-football-at-ucla-pro-day
  12. Only two things worry me about Rosen. His concussions and his propensity to force things when its better to just throw the ball away. The latter is easily coached. The former is a legitamate long term concern. You’re right though, all that other stuff is just BS.
  13. AJ isnt necessarily just a bridge. Hes a viable alternative as a long term starter if the rookie doesnt pan out (or they cant make the trade up to draft their guy.) Its a “dont put all your eggs in one basket” move. Its akin to Washingon drafting Cousins. If the Bills draft a QB this year they now have two guys who may end up being the answer instead of just the one. TT was never going to be the long term solution.
  14. Even without his cash and position I wouldn’t look at this couple and think something was off about it. Maybe it’s just me, she’s pretty, but isn’t some unbelievable beauty.
  15. Didn’t see this response before I posted. Fair enough.
  16. You’ve only given part of the picture though. If he leads them to the SB this year it could be, in large part, due to the fact that the Bills don’t have to tie up a large part of their cap with their QB and are able to spend money elsewhere. By the same token, if they flame out and go (1-15) it is much easier to recover without the albatross of a huge contract dragging the Bills down. Contracts do matter.
  17. The only way they don’t draft a guy in the 1st is if they just can’t find a trade partner who wants to make a semi-reasonable deal. There is no way they don’t attempt to move up and grab the guy they want. It’s been their plan since before Beane got here. It’s why they moved down last year.
  18. More like they were risk averse. They’d rather sign a guy with a low ceiling and high floor than risk signing a player with a lower floor but higher ceiling. Personlly, I like this move as it doesn’t put all the Bills’ eggs in one draft pick’s basket.
  19. I enjoyed those 3 games too.
  20. I don’t believe any team signs him to be their starter even as a bridge for a year. He doesn’t work within the confines of an offense and that drives coaches crazy. He’ll be signed to compete for an up for grabs job or as a backup. I say that, obviously, as just imo. I could totally be misreading the situation but based on my knowedge of TT, I’m pretty confident.
  21. You may be right but he’ll only get that if a team pegs him as their starter, and that’s a BIG if. He’s a guy who a team might sign to compete for a starting spot and might put incentives in his contract based on playing time but right now I don’t see any team signing him to be their guaranteed starter.
  22. Butler has zero chance of coming to Buffalo. The Pats typically play cover 2 with man underneath. The Bills want CBs who excel in zone. Butler isn’t bad in zone but it’s not his forte. Why pay a guy big bucks to play in a D not suited to his best attributes?
  23. Pederson did make a conservative mistake at the end. It wasn’t the third down call - that was the correct move to ensure they stay in FG range and burn another 40 seconds off the clock. The conservative call came on 2nd down with 2:03 left on the clock. After 2nd down the clock was going to stop no matter what, that was the down to attack through the air, attempt to get the 1st down and put the Pats away without ever attempting the FG. Obviously it all worked out in the end but that 2nd down play call was a mistake.
  24. Very classy move by the Eagles. Good for Jon.
  25. Oh, he’ll be taking a pay cut, it will just be with a different employer.
