  1. Here comes a 91 yard TD drive
  2. You must be the Bizarro version of me. The Bills have never not let me down.
  3. Yep, best thing for the Bills is if the Chargers win the West.
  4. Since we're talking playoff possibilities, I haven't seen anyone mention that all the Bills have to do is win out and the Pats lose to the Steelers and the Bills win the division and get a 1st round bye. Easy peasy.
  5. Depends which Bills' D shows up. If the good version of the D shows up I don't see the Jags scoring much and since their D relies on turnovers and the Bills don't tend to give the ball away, it would likely be a low scoring game on both sides. Chargers are a tougher matchup, but again, if the good D shows up it would be a close game. Now, if the bad D shows up, they're getting blown out no matter who they play.
  6. Just give it to them. One of the worst jobbings the Bills have ever gotten, and that's saying something.
  7. Not sure you can read too much into the way McDermott is coaching this team. The way to remain competitive when you don't have a lot of talent is Jauron ball. Play it close to the vest, don't turn the ball over and don't allow big plays on D. Do those things and you'll be in the vast majority of your games. When you don't have a lot of talent this can mask deficiencies. If you do it when you have more talent than your opponents you're simply keeping other teams in the game. Let's see how McDermott coaches once he has some talent on the team, if he does the same thing then you may have a point. But the fact that he's doing it right now doesn't show us much, other than he knows how to get the most out of the guys he's got.
  8. It depends on who enters the draft. But if all the top QBs enter and the Bills can move up to the 2 spot to grab one they have to do it. My preference would be to land Cousins via FA and use all those draft picks to shore up the rest of the team. I seriously doubt that happens though.
  9. Parcells never won a SB without Belichik. Belichik has won SBs with any number of coordinators and unless people forget, Brady was not all world in his first few seasons in the league. He was considered a "system QB" who "dinked and dunked" yet they still won SBs. When Brady won his first SB, the Pats won because they held the juggernaught Rams offense to 17 points, not because Brady was lights out. Hell, even the season when Brady went down the Pats finished with 11 wins but missed the playoffs. BB obviously has benefited from Brady, but to say he would be pedestrian without him is ridiculous. The guy is an outstanding HC and was an outstanding DC before that.
  10. There's something to be said for creating an environment where the team has experienced some success. Take a look at the Seahawks, they made the playoffs in Carroll's first year by winning the NFC West with a 7-9 record. They proceeded to win a playoff game that year too. They did it without their QB and that experience helped propel them forward. That year you had a lot of rookies playing who would go on to form the foundation of the team - Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Golden Tate, & Russel Okung. Just because you can't win the SB doesn't mean the playoffs aren't great seasoning for your young guys that will be part of the core players moving forward.
  11. Unfortunately the Bills need more than that. They need LBs who can both stop the run as well as get into their zones on D to defend the pass. The Bills biggest problems vs. the pass are the pass rush and the LBs inability to get the proper depth/position in their drops. Ragland is horrible in coverage. Sometimes it's not a matter on if a player is good, it's if he's a fit for the system. Ragland wasn't. I'd rather get value for him that have him wallow on the bench until his rookie contract was done. Unfortunately, this is the treadmill the Bills have been on for the better part of two decades. Draft players for a coach's systems, fire coach, change systems, get new players for those systems, repeat...
  12. My worst case scenario has the Ravens losing tonight to the Texans and the Bills beating the Pats next weekend...then the wheels come completely off the rails and they lose the next two to Indy and Miami. Or go into week 17 just needing a win to get in and they get demolished by Miami's backups. Pick one.
  13. I'm not sure about this. The Ravens really need to lose to the Texans tonight or in the final week vs. Cincy. Unfortunately, they are at home for both these games. If they win those games I don't see them finishing worse than 9-7 as they have Cleveland and Indy on the schedule. Titans are already 6-4 in the conference. To finish at 6-6 they'd have to lose to both the Jags and Texans. They host the Texans next week, I suppose it's possible but I wouldn't count on that.
  14. I don't know why this is even a talking point. The only question that matters is can you win the SB with Taylor at QB? If yes (which I think it is) then what kind of team surrounding him must you have? IMO, to win with him you need one of the all time great Ds (think Tampa, Ravens, Bears SB winners) AND a dominant run game. There are more legitimate high caliber, elite QBs than those types of defenses. To get where the Bills want to go they need an upgrade at the QB position.
  15. The Jets and Chargers aren’t exactly juggernaughts.
  16. Where has this D been the past 3 weeks?!?
  17. Yeah, I've preferred this idea for years. Your out of conference opponent would be the one that finished in the same position in the other conference.
  18. The quality of the other players has nothing to do with it. As a player all they ask is the coach gives them the best chance to win. That entails playing the best players at each position. If the best player is a POS, so be it, but he's still the best player at that position on the team. If the majority of the team thinks TT is the best QB (and judging by Sunday's performance, I doubt there are any who believe it to be Peterman) then they won't be pleased if he's not out there starting until they are officially eliminated from the playoffs. The fan's perspective is different. We've mostly given up on this season and just want a better draft pick and to check out young players for next year. But I guarantee the players in that locker room haven't give up, at least the ones with any amount of competitive spirit. Losing the locker room isn't some made up term that people throw around. The coach has to have to respect of the team for them to fully by in to what he's selling. If he doesn't have that respect it's virtually impossible for him to do his job.
  19. The difference being that the Eagles started to have success a year after they drafted their QB. Said QB isn't even on the Bills' roster yet and who knows how he'll pan out once he is. Also the Philly D wasn't absolutely horrible in 2016. They had a single game where they allowed more than 30 points. The Bills, personnel wise, are so far from fixing things I'm not sure McDermott and Bean will last long enough to see their vision finished. So yeah, maybe some of the criticism of McDermott isn't fair but the Bills aren't turning things around as quickly as the Eagles. That's just wishful thinking.
  20. Guess the Bills just need to get Tom Brady behind center and they’ll be all set...
  21. For those of you saying TT would have won this game, you do realize the D is going on almost 7 quarters of not forcing a PUNT. Even without the turnovers by the O they can’t stop anybody.
  22. Will the D force a punt this half?
  23. Bills are worse than Cleveland. Cleveland is competitive in their games. I’ve never seen an NFL team get blown out 3 consecutive games like it’s Alabama vs Mercer. This is the NFL, this shouldn’t happen.
  24. Ahould bring in the backup to protect the starter! Don’t want Peteman getting hurt in a blow out...
