  1. He’s just got to take the sack sometimes. He’s trying to do too much.
  2. Thank God Tolbert is out. If he was available he would have subbed Shady after the first long run and they would have handed it to him for no gain on the next play.
  3. That's also from just the past 3 years and you're confusing "elite" with "franchise guys". Those guys are all franchise guys who will be leading their teams for years to come. You're also discounting that the guys we've listed aren't fully developed yet. The league is littered with a history of great QBs who didn't look fantastic in the first couple of years. You're trying to compare guys who haven't even had two years in the league to guys who are going to be in the HoF, that's not a fair comparison. The fact that you considered Goff a "bust" until 9 games ago illustrates the point. He wasn't a bust, he was just a young QB and those guys struggle.
  4. There are a lot of good young QBs. Wentz, Goff, Watson, Dak and those are the guys just from the last two draft classes. Considering we are only 19 months removed from the 2016 draft that's a pretty good number of guys. Throw in Mariotta and you have a group of guys who have dramatically changed the quality of their respective teams. All of the teams that drafted these players are headed towards the playoffs except Houston and that's because of an injury to Watson. That's a very quick turnaround for teams that all drafted near the top of the draft. Wait until the rest of the rookies from the most recent class get some seasoning and we'll really see what the last draft class has to offer. You have to go all the way back to 2014 to find a guy (Bortles) at the top of the draft who has actually busted and hell, even his team is going to the playoffs. I don't remember the last time so many highly drafted QBs have been selected without a bust. You did have a period there from 2012-2014 that didn't produce that many guys which helps account for the lack of overall quality play but considering how the last three drafts have turned out I'd say it's heading back in the right direction.
  5. It doesn't suck as a sports town. Dodgers, Lakers, UCLA basketball, USC/UCLA football are all well attended. It sucks as an NFL town. For some reason they just don't show up.
  6. Bills are thin at RB every single Sunday. After Shady there is nothing.
  7. Yep. Somehow people think "yellow journalism" and "muckraking" are new terms. Kind of funny. It's been happening since the beginning. That being said, like any profession there are quality journalists and hacks. Seek out the quality and ignore the hacks. And "quality" doesn't just mean the stuff you agree with on a surface level...
  8. Unless I misunderstood the OP he said they talked to many pundits since the Peterman move was made and Gruden was one of those voices. So this didn't come from QB camp. While I do think that's an important distinction I'm not sure it's enough to totally just buy what Gruden is selling either.
  9. Except that Taylor IS the QB who dumps it off on 3rd and 15 so they go 3 and out and punt the ball. In multiple offenses under multiple coaches Taylor has repeatedly been the QB of an offense that was near the top (bottom?) of the league in 3 and outs. A few highlight reel runs doesn't make him a constantly good QB. I do feel badly for TT in that they didn't even try to run an offense that his skillset was made for. They forced him into Dennison's O despite it not being a mesh for TT. That being said, that's obviously not the O they want to run, so find a guy who can run it the way you want it run.
  10. KC and Philly both run plenty of run throw options (even run/run/throw options.) Not exactly what the OP was suggesting but it's been proven very effective this year.
  11. That was a badass writeup (with vids) of every play that Peterman had last week. Thanks for the link!
  12. No matter what happens it's a win for the Bills. Peterman plays well and gets the Bills offense moving better and increases their playoff chances - win. Peterman plays about the same as TT, the Bills lose just enough to keep them out of the playoffs but the brass gets to evaluate their young QB and make an informed decision if they need to spend a 1st rounder on a QB next year - win Peterman sucks, the Bills lose a lot, they improve draft position and are better able to draft a 1st round QB next year - win
  13. It's really a win/win. If Peterman plays surprisingly well the Bills rekindle their playoff push. If he struggles he still gets valuable playing time and the team can evaluate whether they need to draft another QB in next year's draft while at the same time improving their draft position. Playing Taylor did nothing. He was never going to be the QB to lead this team in the coming years and he wasn't a good mesh for this offense.
  14. No doubt they have an easier schedule, I just don't see how, according to your own process, you didn't give them .5 games in many of those contests. I still think they end up in the playoffs I just question how you applied your methodology. GB (with Hundley at QB) just beat CHI on the road. The same CHI team that went into BAL and got a W. That's not a fairly even match? Same goes for the CIN game. I think you're overestimating how good this Ravens team is. Raiders are done. 5 losses and games vs. NE, KC, DAL and PHI remaining on the schedule. For some reason, people think the Raiders of last year are suddenly going to show up.
  15. The problem is they need to win EVERY game in which they have a legit chance to win. This team can't be counted on to do that. They couldn't beat the Jets or Cincy. More likely is they split the games they can win and lose to NE (x2) and KC. 7-9.
  16. Somehow he's good enough to be on a team with legit SB aspirations and that just ran for almost 300 yards on Sunday...but he's not good enough for the Bills.
  17. How do you chalk up a victory for Baltimore playing on the road in GB? That's a toss up if ever I saw one. The Ravens have won 1 game in their past 4. That's not a team that can get easy victories on the road, no matter who they are playing. Hell, it's not a team that can get easy victories at home either, except vs. CLE.
  18. While I don't think the Bills make the playoffs people's perceptions will change if the Bills beat the Chargers and the Ravens lose to the Pack. That happens and suddenly the Bills chances look much, much better.
  19. Raiders have virtually no chance. They play NE, @KC, DAL and @ PHI in the remaining 7 games. They already have 5 losses. Not sure how they even get to 8-8 with that schedule. The Ravens, on the other hand, I can see getting the final spot with an 8-8 record. Unless the Bills can actually get to 9 wins (unlikely) they'll lose a tiebreaker to the Ravens based on conference record. That's if the Bills even get to 8 wins, which I'm not sure they do. 7-9 seems like a good bet at this point.
  20. Does he he give us the best chance of winning though? The conservative, lets just not turn the ball over, offense only helps win if the D is fairly dominant. With a D that can’t stop anybody you need a QB who can throw with anticipation to tight spots and keep the chains moving. Checking down repeatedly because nobody is college wife open just doesn’t get the job done. I’ll take a turnover or two more with an offense that can actually move the ball on a consistent basis. lets not forget that Benjamin is going to be a complete waste of a talented player because TT refuses to throw it up and trust his guy. Just check out what Brees didnwith Thomas today, that’s what the Bills should be doing with KB.
  21. This D is horrible. Can’t stop the run and can’t generate a pass rush.
  22. A few things. They haven't played most of their games vs. sub .500 teams. 5 teams have a .500 or better record and 4 are sub. And several of those teams are .500 or just under .500 because they lost to the Eagles. If the Eagles were winless they would have only played two teams that were sub .500 The team that has really benefited from an easy schedule is the Rams. 3 of their 6 wins have come against teams that have combined for 1 win (SF, IND and NYG.) Add in a game vs a Cardinals team post Palmer and Johnson injuries and that's basically 4 free wins. I'll give it to them that their Dallas and Jax wins are the road are both quality wins but overall I'm not sure they're as good as advertised. With games vs. Min, NO, SEA and PHIL in the next 6 weeks we'll find out how real they are.
  23. Since it's the same injury shouldn't the topic read: Cordy Glenn's Injury not healed YET.
