  1. I believe the poster is referring to a scenario in which the Saudis funded an alternative league that would be based in the US (a la teams suddenly forming in Birmingham or San Antonio). I could be wrong. Having spent a little time in Saudi, Kuwait and Egypt, I agree with you wholeheartedly. A sandbox, with all the little turds included. As for the Chargers, I went to a few games at "The Murph" back in the late 80's and early 90's. Honestly - the place was pretty good after the facelift that took place back then. I get it - someone wasn't making enough money on the existing stadium, so greed won. But it wasn't as bad as it's made out to be. And the fans may not have been "rabid", but they were supportive. San Diego, back in the Fouts/Coryell era, was strongly behind their team because it was FUN to watch! (Okay, they'd lose 53-51, but it was entertaining). And their new uniforms suck. Jesus. What an abomination.
  2. One of my go-to recipes is my chicken vegetable noodle soup. Well, I'm going to switch it up and make a large kettle of beef vegetable noodle soup. Just looked up a recipe with an Asian twist that calls for red wine, so it's off to the liquor store. Again. Guess I know what I'm eating and drinking tomorrow.
  3. I can't disagree with your assessment, other than to pick around the edges with the Jets. I wouldn't put money on Rodgers returning. Just a hunch. Let's put it this way - I wouldn't want to have to be making the "go/no go" decision with that guy at QB come draft day.
  4. Just had the NWS site up, so I plugged in Orchard Park. "Sunday: A chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. West wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%" 72 hours out, so it'll change a little - but not much. Start to lean on the run game in the second half.
  5. Question for you. Did you get this off the internet, or did you film it at the San Diego Zoo one afternoon? One approach is more creative than the other.
  6. Agreed. Not to mention that Spectrum just laid off a slew of their local newscasters. Very happy that I switched this past August.
  7. I mean...come on. Spoken as a Bills fan. But as a fan of watching the game, that Dolphins Chiefs matchup would be great football.
  8. Thank you for the work you put into these broadcast updates, Chongli. I really appreciate it. The reality of the Bills/Pats* game being directly opposite of the Dolphins/Ravens game just came hammering home. I'm glad I got that extra beer in me and signed up for YouTube TV/NFL package this past August. The beer helped the "wince" as I hit Send. But I love the side-by-side broadcast. Going to need it this weekend.
  9. Drat! You beat me to it!
  10. A "joy"? It was orgasmic. It'll be that way tomorrow at 5:30 as well. Blow the lock off the vault and get NFL+ for a month.
  11. Wait. THIS is what you're complaining about?
  12. Boy-oh-boy, BOTH kickers are going to have to be on their game - or hugely lucky. If the wind in the eastern basin of Lake Erie is anything like the wind going on right now in the eastern basin of Lake Ontario, there will be NO kicking game. Watch for a lot of Cook and Murray and short passes to the tight ends today. It is HOWLING up here.
  13. Long ways away, but if the Bills win out and the division title is on the line at that Dolphins game, they're going into Miami and they're going to commit assault. I've not been more confident of an outcome all season. As for the Dolphins-Jets...didn't the Dolphins lose their starting center last week? And so some backup is blocking whom? Quinnen Williams? What on earth could go wrong for the Dolphins in that scenario?
  14. I was thinking this when I read the OP. I don't see Detroit losing to Denver at home after getting embarrassed by Chicago last week. Doesn't really change things a lot, other than I don't see Denver going 4-0 down the stretch.
  15. Long flight, but, yeah, the jet lag isn't really a problem. You just have to shake off 9 hours in the seat.
  16. That made me laugh out loud. Well done.
  17. Thanks for the heavy lift, Chongli. For these two games: 1) Christmas at my sister's on the 23rd...and she has a Peacock subscription. I'd better check to make sure it's the appropriate level. 2) IF the Bills fall into this Wild Card slot, I'm heading for a sports bar. I got YouTube TV, I got Prime for Thursdays. Come on, people. Enough.
  18. Oliver was a force of nature out there.
  19. Always one of my favorites. Hope you're doing well, Dean.
  20. I do remember some of those trades at the end of the draft, and wondering what Beane had up his sleeve for 2024. Here's my dumb question for the morning - based on what is in this article...does this mean the Bills have four (4) picks in the 6th round? 1) Broncos to the Bills via the Rams 2) Rams to the Bills 3) Cowboys to the Bills via the Texans 4) Bills own 6th? There's going to be some wheeling and dealing next April.
  21. That's an interesting point. Could be a good stats-padding night for the running backs. Makes for a quick game at night.
  22. A few thoughts: 1) The hair. Just...the hair. 2) What a wrecking crew. 3) Those cheerleaders were young when I was young. Bet they look better than I do. 4) It's a different game, isn't it?
  23. My sojourn wasn't as wild as Sherpa's, but I also had adventures in air travel. I was in Perth doing some training when I called my wife to check in. It was night time there. "You need to turn on the TV". Wow. Gloves off. And...like...NOW WHAT? I knew standard procedure would be to seal off the airspace, so I scrambled as fast as I could with the travel agent (yeah, we used those back then). Too late. US airspace closed. Tried to get back via Vancouver. Too late. Canadian airspace closed. Didn't even contemplate trying to get back through Mexico. I was slated to travel back from Sydney to Los Angeles the next day, but the idea of being on an overwater trip with a US flag on the fuselage didn't seem like a good idea. So the next morning I went down to the local travel agent in Perth and rebooked on neutral carriers. Singapore Airways from Perth to Singapore, connecting to London Heathrow. Heathrow was an insane mob scene. I mean - everything was locked up. I just ended up grabbing a hotel and called the company and said "See you when I can see you". It took a week to get home. Booked an Air Canada flight to Ottawa, rented a car, and drove across on the Ogdensburg bridge. I've never been so happy to hand my passport to the border patrol in my entire life.
  24. Wow. So...in seriousness...who's going to the London game? PM me. The trip that just got dropped in my lap now includes a departure on Sunday 8 October (because they want us to go to Oktoberfest in Stuttgart on 7 October), and I could possibly swing it. Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I might (*gasp*) get to meet some of you in a weird environment. Who's going? Might do it.
