After 17 years of getting drubbed by the Pats*, I'm unable to let it go - regardless of the fact that the Pats* were better/Bills poorly coached and managed/blah blah blah. F-em. Few things in life bring me greater joy than watching the Pats* get curb-stomped. This having been said, I have to admit that I enjoyed watching them drink from a poisoned chalice as they beat the Bills last year and cost themselves like 4 draft slots. Now it's the playoff Chiefs. Not regular season. Always seem to handle that part okay.

I've finally planted the last of my fruit trees (I can finally call it an "orchard" instead of a couple of shade trees), and now I'm hearing that these things HAMMER fruit trees and grapevines. I'm up north near Watertown. No sign of them yet. Heard they're coming up from Pennsylvania.

Fine. I'll step in. When comparing two entities, the correct expression is "the MORE common". When comparing THREE (or more) entities, one would use the expression "the MOST common". Carry on...

Kind of a boring thing to consider, but for those of you looking to purchase a retirement place, it would make sense to consider the school district. You'd probably want the lousiest underfunded crap show you can find. School taxes have to be factored in when you don't have kids in the system.

I know we signed Trey Teague - I think from Denver. IIRC, they signed him as a tackle and decided to move him to center, which meant that he had one of the higher contracts for centers in the league. Here's what I don't understand. See the Spiderman with the name "Tucker"? Look at the iconography on his back. The "bug" has six legs, right? Count 'em. Six. That's an INSECT. I'm hoping Hairston plays at Year 2 in Year 1. I'm hoping Sanders plays at Year 1. I'm hoping Jackson plays better in Year 1 than did Epenesa. I'm hoping Walker plays - but I'm betting the mortgage that he goes to IR at the end of camp. Basically, I'm assuming the Offense kicks ass. I'm watching/hoping/praying for the "New" defense. Because I think the Bills could go all the way if they do.

Just so long as it's not on a jet ski.

Two comments on the Cowboys - and I defer to all of you who follow them in a much more obsessive level of detail than I do. 1) The "aha" moment for me as relates to the suckitude of the Cowboys came on the day they fired Jason Garrett. (And, no, I don't mean to turn this into a Cowboy coaching discussion). The crawler at the bottom of the ESPN screen said something like "10 year tenure" and "87-70 record". Being the math whiz that I am, I used my high-level calculator and found myself staring at "9-7". Like...there's the number. For ten solid years, there's the number. They AREN'T "America's Team". They're not even special. They're getting in as a wild card each year, or they're just missing the post season entirely. Why all the hype? Frankly, they're boring. 2) The saving grace for the Cowboys is the NFC East team based in New Jersey. If it weren't for the stupidity of the Giants franchise, the Cowboys would get smoked in that division.

I've attended an orchiectomy, and trust me on something. A Lombardi for the Bills isn't worth it. Be grateful for that little intact package you have.

Since I'm technologically challenged, and don't know how to copy-and-paste a link, I'll just type it out. (This much I can do). I'd choose Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde for her rendition of "Joey". Rips the paint straight off the wall.

My slight tweak to this would put Hairston in the "Immediately" group, and remove Walker altogether. I have a sense that the Front Office is going to give Walker his shot in camp, and IR him for this season to get him past the stress fracture. I would guess they've seen enough of what this can do to a big man with Spencer Brown's situation. I'm watching for a red shirt season IMHO.

"Seasons"?! Try "Decades". As for the Bills, I grew up in Rochester during the era of black-and-white TV on 3 stations. All we HAD was the Bills. When I think of OJ running through the snow, it was mostly from the crappy reception on the TV set.
