  1. I watched the Steelers/Washington game and the Redsk..., um...Washington punter was a lefty. Looked weird.
  2. You’re not saying Hodgins is on IR with a phantom injury, are you?
  3. Since the NFL has a yearly Combine, which all teams attend, the results of drafts are more influenced by luck and player development than drafting ability of the GMs. Having said that, it’s the picks where GMs think they’re smarter than everyone else that gets them in trouble. Drafting for need and taking a player earlier than expected (Ex: QBs Chris Ponder and EJ Manuel in the first half of the first round) usually doesn’t work out. Still a team’s developed philosophy in drafting players can also make a difference if they stick to it. If a team’s philosophy is to stay away from knuckleheads and prima donnas, that will probably benefit them in the long run in maybe having less draft busts. I still don’t know how the Raiders didn’t ask the right questions in interviewing JaMarcus Russell to realize he was a knucklehead. Maybe asking him where he expected to be in 5 years would’ve resulted in an answer of “being rich and kicking back drinking me some purple”
  4. Dude, It’s would’ve, could’ve and should’ve. They are contractions that are short for could have, etc. I’m sorry that the education system has failed you.
  5. Speaking of Lynn, what the heck has happened with him? He was 9-7 his first year with the Chargers, then an impressive 12-4 the next season. Now, he’s followed up a 5-11 in 2019 with a 3-8 so far. Yes his record could be affected by injuries and the players lost and acquired but the way he looked this past week wasn’t very good. They’ve also blown several double-digit leads. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him fired after the season.
  6. Didn’t he also play bass and keyboard for Led Zeppelin?
  7. On the “Hail Murray’, which I’ve watched dozens of times now, White had his hand on the ball and it was starting to move down when Poyer came flying in and knocked him down. Hopkins then got control again.
  8. Be patient. It’s a process.
  9. I noticed that after Josh hurt his ankle, on his next couple of runs they were hitting him late out of bounds with no calls. I believe that contributed to his response after scoring. So, they penalize him for that but no penalties are called when a defender recovers a fumble at his own 20 and after the play he and all his defensive teammates, and probably some off the bench, run all the way down to the other end of the field so they can see themselves posing on a field level big screen behind the end zone. What were they thinking when they started putting those screens there?
  10. I’ll believe it when I see it. Coordinators get fired. Coughlin got sent packing, yet Saint Doug is still standing. His record of never having been fired still stands. Maybe he’ll resign to keep that going.
  11. Coach didn’t know about records.
  12. And then people can watch the game from Tightwad Hill.
  13. Well, Candlestick is gone. Stanford is still in Santa Clara County.
  14. Since the Bills just had their bye week and McDermott said they’d be working on the running game, I’ll reserve judgment on the RBs until after the next couple games.
  15. Apparently they brought it back, but it’s on ESPN+, which, of course, will cost you more. They have another highlights show on ESPN called Rewind, which was renamed after they brought back Bergman on the new Primetime. Rewind isn’t as good. I watch the NFL Network version, which continues to change and is now hosted by Chris Rose alone.
  16. Great set of pics. My favorite Bill, Brave & Sabre.
  17. Glad to see that “Jethro” is still gainfully employed.
  18. There’s also the Disabled Player Exception, which the Warriors just applied for after Klay Thompson’s season-ending achilles injury.
  19. Yeah, he would be my 2nd also. So, are many of us failing to mention OJ because of his post playing days developments? The 1971 thru ‘75 seasons were fun to watch OJ. I just identified with Chandler more.
  20. Also Bob Chandler.
  21. It’s because of his feet. He could run for a 1,000 yards and throw for 4,000. I still think somebody is going to cream him one of these days. He also just stated that he hasn’t closed the door on playing baseball.
  22. You mean like Zimmer?
  23. Man, that 2018 QB class was so highly thought of and got off to a good start. Rosen now looks like a bust. Mayfield and Darnold have regressed and Lamar Jackson may be also. Josh Allen looks like the best right now. From prior drafts, Wentz, Goff and Trubisky have regressed. It’ll be interesting to see if this year’s rookies can maintain their level of play.
  24. Exactly. Alex Smith may have never been more of a Captain Checkdown but the Niners were going thru OCs almost yearly at the start of his career.
  25. I hope the players don’t start thinking the same thing. That’s a recipe for disaster.
