  1. I’m surprised there wasn’t already a thread telling Beane to put in a claim.
  2. In my opinion, during a game, coaches have so much on their plate that an offensive player not getting enough touches is understandable. They go with the flow of the game and, with the play clock, have to make split second decisions. The QB also has to make quick decisions so not spreading the passes out to all the receivers can easily happen. Others have noted that Knox has been used for pass protection a lot when the O-line is struggling with the pass rush. Still, they did remember to use Knox on the FG drive at the end of regulation as Diggs was likely tightly covered. Knox seemed to be left alone on those plays. I read Peter King’s FMIA this morning and he had some interesting comments from a post-game interview with Jeff Saturday. Saturdaty told him he couldn’t believe how quickly the quarters seemed to go bye as opposed to when he was a player. He said the game seemed very long as a player, while yesterday he’d look up at the clock and be surprised that a Qtr was just about over.
  3. They can’t win with some fans. If they kick the FG and go up by 13 but the Vikings score 2TDs and win by one, people would say McD is too conservative. He should’ve gone for it and tried to end the game.
  4. Yeah, but doesn’t he violate that with throwing out the tidbit of internal issues?
  5. I disagree with all the takes that it was such a bad call. At the goal line, the safest play is the QB sneak. Most teams use it at that field position. If executed properly, all you have is the exchange from Center to QB, who just has to fall forward to get a yard. If we had a Derrick Henry, which we don’t, you could give it to him. With all the players crowded into that small area, taking a snap, turning and handing off to a RB is more risky. The QB could be tripped, like happened to Cousins twice, the handoff to the RB could be messed up or a defender would have time to shoot thru and nail the RB in the end zone. The QB sneak is the better option to gain a yard and move out from the end zone. Regardless of the play call, the problem was the QB/center exchange. It was cold and wet out there. Who’s to say a shotgun snap wouldn’t have gone awry?
  6. Well, it would be 7 years ago if they had just given the ball to Lynch instead of throwing it.
  7. McD has been conservative since he’s been here until recently. Has he fallen in love with analytics now? In his first few years, he would never have gone for it on that 4th down and would’ve kicked the FG. If he did go for it, it would’ve been a run. Now they throw a pass, which is intercepted and taken out 45 yards. It was about the worst of all possible outcomes (INT for TD being worst) for that situation of 4th down at the 2.
  8. A few weeks ago, there were comments here that “Dorsey may be better than Daboll!”
  9. And why I hate zone defense. Here, let me pass him to you. Double team the man. He might still make a play with the smurfs we have as DBs, but at least make it harder. They do the same thing vs Kelce when they play KC. In one way it’s simple math. At a minimum, the opponent will have 5 O-linemen and their QB not out in pass patterns. That leaves 5 possible receivers. The Bills rush 4 most of the time which leaves 7 guys defending the pass. 7 vs 5 and guys are running wide open and beating single coverage?!
  10. There were many people with Holiday Inn Express medical knowledge here in the off-season saying Tre should be available at the start of the season. I don’t remember names but if you want to go thru the archives, have at it.
  11. Did I miss something? Did Virgil retire his Thoughts posting?
  12. The OL is mostly horrible. Josh is mainly in the shotgun and on many plays he has like a second to look downfield before a defender is closing in. If he wasn’t mobile and more Bledsoe-like, he could be leading the league in times sacked.
  13. What? They replaced Harrison Phillips and Lotuleilei with DaQuan Jones (320#) , Tim Settle (313 #) and Jordan Phillips (330#)
  14. After going thru the stretch of 17 straight seasons with no playoffs, I’ll take it.
  15. They did. They drafted Ehlinger!
  16. Yep. I expected Davis to build on his playoff success but he hasn’t. Some of us wanted Beasley gone for non-football reasons but he’d sure help now. I’ve also been against the idea of OBJ but with the trade deadline passed, he’s about the only option remaining that would help. We’ll see if Hines can start helping next week.
  17. Well, looking to the future, if they’re going to continue with this scheme, they need to look at drafting a big safety like Kam Chancellor. (6-3, 225). who could be a fast big hitting college linebacker.
  18. T.Johnson is an excellent tackler for his size but he’s not going to be too successful with trying to fight off blocks and making tackles on runners play after play. The absence of Milano, Poyer and Hyde really showed in this game. Also, what’s happened to the D-Line?
  19. Another reason I love my Golden St Warriors. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala have all been with the team for 10 years. Other drafted players have been there for a few years. The bottom of their roster may change from year to year but the core has been the same and they’ve won 4 titles.
  20. They should have had a table there and finish it with a Bills fan smashing it
  21. A playoff OT game where he seemed to carry the note of scoooooores as long as was humanly possible. Then there was a couple seconds of silence (catch his breath?).
  22. The Colts also have a couple RBs on their practice squad, including Philip Lindsey.
  23. You can make Wikipedia say that Mickey Mouse is president.
  24. Do you remember when there was an NHL player with the exact spelling of Heinz and he did wear #57?
  25. One of the funniest stories ever was about Roscoe Parrish seeing snow for the 1st time.
