  1. 1) Toney was dumped by the Giants for a reason. 2) If McDermott went for it on 4th & 25 with 3 time outs there would be a 100 page "Fire McDermott" thread. Not a single criticism by NBC announcers of Reid.
  2. So is Sophia Vergara. New power couple.
  3. On ESPN radio this morning they were criticizing the Bengals for not getting the deal done yet. Funny, I never heard any criticism of the Ravens, especially 2 years ago, when they were in the process of letting Lamar Jackson play through his 5th year option.
  4. My favorite segment "Where are they now" ended many years ago.
  5. Even though he was a former Dolphin (and Patriot) I really liked Nick because of his time on Inside the NFL. I was sad watching the HBO documentary filmed shortly before he died and seeing how he was suffering near the end.
  6. Not true. The game is on the NY ABC station, WABC, which is owned by Disney & Spectrum will black it out. The NYC viewing area is going to have to program their TVs to over the air & attach a digital antenna if they are with Spectrum.
  7. Never mind thoughts & prayers, his family needs to get him some help NOW.
  8. At least the 2 Connor McGoverns won't be on the field at the same time like when we played Jacksonville with the real wrong Josh.
  9. Watched the 1st episode on The CW tonight. It's going to take some time to get used to. Hopefully it will improve. Too much Mahomes love, commercials breaking in in the middle of a conversation (I don't know if this was a local station issue or The CW's problem), and the worst part-NO PICK SEGMENT. I hope they wake up & start a pick segment starting next week.
  10. https://nypost.com/2023/09/01/bill-parcells-has-lent-millions-to-ex-giants-players-in-financial-crisis/ “It’s just incredibly generous what he’s done with these guys. Bill has loaned out $4 million to 20 players that played for him, who come to him in this financial crisis. Bill knows when they come to him it’s a last resort,” Myers said. “I said to him, ‘Bill, you know, $4 million, you don’t expect anybody to pay you back. Why are you doing that?’ “And he said, ‘These guys have sacrificed so much for me with their bodies and their commitment.’ ” Parcells gave the loans — most of which were to members of the 1986 Giants, though a few were to other Giants and players on other teams he coached — without any expectation to be paid back. “He’s put away money he needs for the rest of his life, he’s given money to his kids, and what he has left he’s designated to help those close to him who need it. I think it’s unprecedented,” Myers said. “I don’t think I know of any other coach who sits down and writes checks to his former players who are really in financial need. It’s really a cool story.”
  11. Your ABC affiliate must be owned by Disney and the authors of the article I read must have missed it when they listed the cities. As I just stated above, I know all your cable stations have been shut down.
  12. With the exception of stations owned by Disney (ABC), the local stations are owned locally or by national companies not affiliated with Disney. All they do is carry the network's programming. For example. Nexstar owns ABC & Fox stations in Albany & Buffalo's CBS affiliate (WIVB). When Nexstar got into a dispute with Verizon, they pulled their programming from the ABC station. Meanwhile in Buffalo, Nexstar pulled CBS's programming, putting the ability to watch Bills games in jeopardy last season. Unfortunately, Disney controls the cable stations & has pulled them all from Spectrum. Since Disney doesn't own most of the local stations, they have no right to interfere with the owners' deals with local cable carriers.
  13. It's already scheduled nationwide on ABC.
  14. No, Spectrum didn't. They didn't pull ABC except in cities where the ABC stations are Disney owned. The cities listed above. The game that is the topic of this thread will be on all ABC stations except in those cities.
  15. The only places where Spectrum won't carry the game are the following cities: In addition, ABC stations owned by Disney in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham and Fresno were pulled off the air. If you live in one of those city's TV market buy an antenna & reprogram your TV. Earlier this year Verizon pulled the local ABC channel. On one of my TVs I attached an antenna, changed the input to TV & programmed the TV to receive over the air stations. Then I could watch the local ABC station with the input on TV & if I wanted to watch cable all I had to do was change the input & put it on the channel that's the box is tuned to. It's not that difficult to have the same TV ready for both cable & over the air viewing,
  16. Claimed by the Patriots. Now the 2nd QB on NE 53 man roster. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/patriots-claim-former-panthers-qb-matt-corral-amid-shuffle-of-backups-behind-mac-jones-per-report/
  17. I'm retired & damn good at doing nothing.
  18. Or, he's just so bad that he isn't a NFL talent. In other news: The Jets don't have a punter.
  19. St. Bill Polian had misses in the early rounds too: 1986 Ronnie Harmon 1st round, 1987 Roland Mitchell 2nd, 1988 (Bills 2nd pick) Bernard Ford 3rd, the 1989 draft where the Bills had no 1st & 2nd round picks had a lot of busts after Don Beebe was taken with their 1st pick in round 3, 1990 James Williams 1st, 1991 Darryl Wren 3rd, 1992James Patton 2nd.
  20. According to One Bills Live, there was an unconfirmed rumor that it's a done deal with Miami.
  21. Dustin Hopkins traded to Cleveland as Cade York's replacement.
  22. I just bought a copy from the publisher's website triumphbooks.com. I think it will be shipped mid September. Payment Details Product Qty Unit Price If These Walls Could Talk: Buffalo Bills ISBN: 9781637271896 Format: Trade Paper 1 $19.95 $19.95 Subtotal: $19.95 Sales Tax: $ 1.82 Shipping: Standard Shipping - 3 to 9 days $ 2.77 Total: $ 24.54
  23. They'll never be another Frank Reich situation. Reich didn't start a game until his 5th season. There wasn't unrestricted free agency until Reich's 9th year in the league-he left 2 years later. Ironically, the Bills could have lost Reich in plan B free agency before the 1989 season. He was exposed and could have been signed by any other team, but since he was a totally unknown quantity until the Rams game in 1989, nobody signed him-there were rumors that the Chargers were interested but they never signed him. It would be very hard to develop Lance as a long term backup. He gets paid over $5 million next year & then will be a free agent and he, like Reich before 1989, has virtually no NFL resume. If he develops he leaves, if he doesn't you've taken a relatively big cap hit for a guy not worth keeping.
  24. In preseason I'd prefer they be called Bubble Wrapped.
