McDermott & Beane Extended Through 2027
mushypeaches replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The piece that disgruntled fans here seem to lack awareness of is exactly how hard both Beane & McDermott work to get better at their professions. They are open to new ideas, trying new things, and actively focusing on improving their own deficiencies in the off-season This isn't guys like Jeff Fisher, or Marty Schottenheimer, or Marvin Lewis, or Mike McCarthy who might have had some early success and mostly fiddly-farted their way through the last 2/3 of their careers - fans and pundits KNOWING that these guys weren't going to get any better or ever sniff a SB My point is that both guys, and especially McDermott are putting in the hard work and effort to keep the stability that they've built the last 6 seasons while making the changes and enhancements that are needed to improve and keep giving us shots at a ring. Each and every frigging year -
At our local Bills Backers bar, early on we adopted saying "OK Zay!" whenever he made a play. They were few and far between, so the tone of our exclamation ended up being more surprised than excited. As if it was a reminder that he was actually still on the team and taking snaps. I re-watch a lot of game on NFL Network from the 2017 and later era, and still chuckle and shout "OK Zay!" at the TV when he makes a catch. Alcohol definitely helps my enthusiasm there...

I legitimately did not see this coming. It feels like Beane blinked first knowing that he didn't have any DT's under contract for next year. Seems out of character

Ross Tucker ranks NFL Coach’s, places McDermott at #22.
mushypeaches replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm fascinated as to how the #22 ranked head coach makes the playoffs in 5 out of 6 seasons, has the highest winning % in franchise history, is 4-5 in playoff games, and has built a stable winning culture to a team that has had exactly one previous stretch in their history... still has a job? what a freaking joke -
They’re not going to burn a roster spot on Matt Barkley or any other third QB

Schedule Release - Rumors & Leaks
mushypeaches replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
When that's the case, the 4:25 games are usually up against some juggernaut games like SEA-ARI that only 5% of the viewers in those exact home markets are going to see -
Schedule Release - Rumors & Leaks

So basically, the Jets are this year's Broncos Overhyped, with a washed up traded veteran QB And how cute, they even have Nathaniel Hackett too! -
Levi Wallce buried on depth chart; if he's cut...?
mushypeaches replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he were to come back and push Cam Lewis off the team, that would be outstanding -
I'd much rather have a QB that flies under the radar and doesn't get endorsements... Upstanding young fellows like JP Losman, Trent Edwards, EJ Manuel, etc that will help us to win 7 games and be solidly "In the Hunt" through Week 16 Then we can all go back to sleep for 17 years and set our alarm clocks for Sunday 1 PM games every week SMFH

That's a lot of Benjamins for a guy who peaked 3 years ago

Can someone just tell me if we should have drafted Josh Rosen??

I always enjoy watching our division rivals trip over their own genitalia to make a desperation move like this $100+ million being pushed into multiple void years I get that Beane is also having to work some cap magic and pushing stuff out while we're in a championship window But what the Jets are doing is like some next-level idiocy

Schadenfreude: Malicious joy or taking pleasure in the pain of someone else In football terms: Drinking Patriot fan's tears -
I am hoping that the Bills get both games against the Jets as late in the season as possible. Let the hype train roll out early in the year and give the Jets plenty of marquee matchups and prime time games. Then when they're predictably mediocre and Rodgers is either injured or pissed off at Robert Saleh, we can play them in Week 14 & 17 as they're in "let's see what we have in Zack Wilson" mode

"We can't get an impact WR in the 2nd round"
mushypeaches replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit at the memory of mortgaging a future 1st round pick just to trade up a few spots for Sammy Watkins Please let our current GM never be that stupid. It's a pretty low bar but a reasonable request -
As a Harrisburg PA resident these past 10 years, it is widely known that LeSean McCoy is not the classiest of individuals here in his hometown However, when Jim Kelly was in one of our local breweries last year, I happened to be wearing my Bills gear and he bought my friends and I a round of drinks So that's how I differentiate between the two

Pre-Draft: Bills already much better than last year
mushypeaches replied to khlax3's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really don't care much about any of these off-season moves until we can build a sustainably good OL Our ceiling is exactly where it has been the last 2 years without improvement there -
WR Allen Robinson to Steelers ???????????????????
mushypeaches replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Steelers can make all the genius trades and draft picks that they want, but they're going to be an AFC also-ran until they get a good QB again. Generously, they're probably the 11th best team in the conference at present -
The Bills didn't exactly cover themselves with glory in that draft by picking CJ Spiller when we already had Lynch and Jackson But at least we didn't pick the gadget QB that everyone KNEW would suck in the NFL

Luckily their existence is only theoretical and has never actually been proven in real life And I lived in Jacksonville ~ 10 years ago. They were easily the 10th most popular team in town, behind Florida, FSU, Miami, Alabama, Auburn, and probably 5 more pro teams
