  1. One of the first key steps in disinfecting the toilet bowl of a culture that McBeane inherited, and building up the draft capital to eventually draft a franchise QB
  2. We've got a busload of folks from our Harrisburg Bills Backers club making the 2 hour drive down. I bought a group of 20 or so tickets right after they went on sale in May and the Ravens rep said he had never seen a game sell out so fast. He gave mad props to us as Bills fans for representing on the road
  3. Overall, the Pats are real short on team speed, athleticism and high end talent at the skill positions. That will only take you so far, and you can only play so much ground & pound in today's NFL Satan 2.0 will find ways to beat the garbage teams but they just don't have the horses to hold up against teams that can consistently score 24+ PPG Pats 2022 6-11
  4. His entire appearance and aura is exceedingly punchable
  5. 7:25 AM???? Is Applebee's open that early?
  6. I think that the Rams are going to have a pretty rough go of it this season. Super Bowl hangover on a bunch of fronts Any time that you have a coach that has already talked about retirement, he might as well already be out the door. Players and staff sense this, know this, and their level of commitment also takes a hit
  7. If we're going to pay top $ for a LB, then we're doing the wrong thing from a team-building perspective, regardless of the quality of the player Better to keep the guy that's been in our system for 4+ years
  8. I get that any long time assistant like Daboll desperately wants that first head-coaching gig. But good God, the Giants are a raging tire fire - honestly probably worse than what McBeane inherited in 2017. That team at least had SOME talent It's hard to see them winning more than 4 games, and that might be a kind prediction
  9. I'm fascinated - what year, or even what specific game did Coy Wire do something meaningful on the field?
  10. based on talent, Dallas "should" win But good god, Mike McCarthy can't be trusted to coach his way out of a paper bag Philly as the least worst choice
  11. This is a move that WINNING teams make - Reward your consistent performers and solid citizens, no matter their draft position Value special teams and roster versatility Have veterans in the room to help guide newer players and keep building the team culture Anyone who's B&Ming about the dollars or the fact that players like Gilliam don't have value to teams beyond the pure stats isn't seeing the big picture And also, this helps us to not have to burn a roster spot on a TE3. That adds value too
  12. Well, after going 6-11 this year, and having very little draft capital in 2023, I think that Stephen Ross will get a second chance at tanking (hopefully more discreetly) to get ready for the 2024 & 2025 drafts Breaks my frigging heart to see this happen to a despised divisional opponent. I hesitate to call them a "rival" until they next win a game against the Bills
  13. Fascinating - if that happens, does that mean that a whole lot of big corporations and high earning professionals have also moved to Western NY and brought another million jobs with them?
  14. well, they've really only "made" the difference between their annual revenues and their annual expenditures which is probably in total, quite a bit less than the real $ costs they've paid so far to purchase the team yes - I get what you're saying that the worth of the team has gone up, but these moguls don't truly realize that appreciation until they ever sell
  15. I will always look back to Terry Pegula's response to this question on the day he was awarded the team: "Terry, are you concerned that you might have paid too much"? (paraphrasing) "I got the GD team, didn't I"?
  16. I was actually somewhat impressed that Schopp & Bulldog had the restraint to not completely eviscerate the caller during the actual conversation. Entitled d-bags like the caller deserve every bit of ridicule that they get if they decide to whine in a public forum about their perceived slights. You're a fan of a sports team - you don't have "rights" with respect to any kind of attention you get from players or any other public figure I don't live in WNY anymore, but I had the good fortune to be in the same bar as Jim Kelly in Harrisburg PA about 6 months ago. I happened to be wearing Bills gear, so I went up to him, clinked his glass, and said "thank you for everything you've done over the years". Then I walked away, being very conscious of not wanting to cross the line or overly invade his privacy. Later, as he and his group was leaving, he bought our table a round of drinks.
  17. I'll start to take Mac Jones seriously as a QB if he ever defeats the Bills in a game where he has to throw more than 3 passes
  18. Maybe change the title of the post to "40-year old Jason Peters interested in one last-ditch effort at another paycheck" The team that actually signs him deserves what they get when he half asses and lunch-buffets his way through training camp, makes the active roster, then gets injured and goes on IR in Week 2
  19. Is Marshawn Lynch available too? I know that Terrell Owens is in shape? Why not go all the way and see what Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson are doing these days? That way, we can have all of the Jauron-era malcontents back together again?
  20. I'm a big fan of teams going back to cleaner & simpler designs. We went through about a 20 year span of all the corporate and marketing gurus adding all kinds of swirls and stripes and "cutting edge" designs. Most of them achieved the objective of selling more merchandise, but also largely looked like crap. The Bills pajama unis of 2002-2011 were a great example of this phase. I still cringe when I see people sporting one of those hideous away jerseys If it ain't broke, don't fix it
  21. As long as Haden can pass a physical, I think he's coming to camp in the next 1-2 weeks. Beane won't potentially jeopardize the season by not having enough quality CB's in the pipeline, especially as noted, with the quality of offenses we're facing during the first half of the season
  22. Why does it feel like we've done this awful exercise every freaking off-season? I'm going to go and watch some Josh Allen highlights and try to forget that turdburgers like Trent Edwards ever suited up for our team
