  1. It is an albatross when you couple 5X what we're currently paying our RB's plus a significant injury history, plus the fact that running back is the most fungible easily replaceable position in the game. My point when comparing to Brock Osweiler is that you don't give up assets to trade for this guy. In many instances, the team that's looking to trade shouldn't be looking for much in return. But please, keep playing amateur offseason GM and flame away at people who don't agree with the thought of overpaying for the RB position (see McCoy, LeSean for recent examples)
  2. I see this as like the Brock Osweiler pick from a few years ago where the Texans actually GAVE the Browns a pick to get them to take the player and the big bloated contract. I know that's oversimplifying what happened with that trade, but I'm not giving up assets to take on that albatross
  3. This is all well and good in a theoretical context, but we lost 2 games this year largely due to special teams blunders. It's not "nothing" when games continue to be decided by those plays Special teams plays are "plays" just like offense & defense. You want your best guys on the field in those circumstances, and you want them specially trained to perform those specific duties (which in many cases are very different than their normal Off/Def positions and roles)
  4. Bruce Smith & Andre Reed didn't make much of an impact in 1985 either Judging a draft class after 1 year is little more than conjecture and clickbait
  5. Troy Aikman has been mailing it in for about a decade now. He offers next to nothing that the average viewer can't already see for themselves
  6. It sounds funny, but I'd love it if we drafted Ariaza as our new punter, but it's unlikely he makes it into the 7th round with all of the hype he garnered this past season
  7. Holy crap, after 20 years of NEVER re-signing our own players and overpaying for mediocre free agents, this is what we're going to B word about?
  8. I don't need to read some speculative off-season article to decide that trading for Christian McCaffrey is a really bad idea. His best football is already behind him and you don't trade for that paycheck, no matter what That says it all about another brilliant off-season idea
  9. Yes, let's trade for an often injured running back making 15M+ to play slot receiver. That'll put us over the top I love the off-season
  10. You mean a coach that holds players accountable for performance without being a total a-hole? Yeah those coaches never succeed in this league and nobody wants to play for those teams Tin foil hats are definitely in season during the off season
  11. Week 1 - @ CIN Monday night Week 2 - Home opener Minnesota @ Rams will be a Sun 4 PM national game @ KC will be a Sun night game @ Detroit will be Thanksgiving H NE on a Monday night Week 18 @ Miami
  12. I met Jim Kelly last weekend at a bar here in Harrisburg PA. Happened to be wearing my Bills gear, went up to him, said "cheers" and walked away. Later, as he was leaving, he bought my table a round of drinks. Class act all the way, and the highlight of my year!
  13. This comment is not about the pending discrimination lawsuit But why does it seem like Brian Flores has a problem with just keeping his mouth shut? Why as a coach would you ever say that to your franchise QB?
  14. I mean the owner basically called them out at the end of the year for not making the playoffs. Betting that this is pretty much a mandate from the top to find a better QB no matter what the sunk costs are.
  15. I always viewed Pat Shurmur as Jauron 2.0 so I'm hoping that his son has a little bit more of a pulse
  16. Did I miss the part of the discussion where we scored 483 points this year (3rd in the league)? I don't really care how we get to the end zone, just how many times we get there
  17. We can't lose a home game in a year when we will already have 9 road games. I think that happened to one of the NFC teams last year (maybe Atlanta?) and would be a real competitive disadvantage for us
  18. There's only one position that you make a massive trade up for, and it isn't DE I recognize that the current regime didn't make this move, but I would hope we've learned the Sammy Watkins lesson
  19. He's like the proverbial turd that just won't stay flushed
  20. Levi Wallace has this one chance in his life to get a multi-year contract. He's proven beyond a doubt, that despite his draft standing and limited athleticism, that he is worth one He's going to get that contract for way more than he's ever made in a year We won't be the ones giving it to him
  21. I pulled the trigger at halftime of the Bengals game Yes, the prices suck, but it's hard to see them getting cheaper. I'd regret the crap out of not being there next week if I hadn't done it
  22. I always wanted his meltdown to be a little more like this
  23. There's no way that the NFL is determining specific weeks for matchups at this early juncture. Anyone who's watched features on the NFL schedule in past years knows that there's a huge amount of coordination that goes on with teams, venues, networks, etc, and thousands of permutations etc that get thrown into their computers. They're not done yet, and they're likely not done for another couple of months, so anything now is just conjecture. At the very least, there's not determining weekly schedules until after the Super Bowl is played
  24. This example just illustrates the problems when ownership meddles or over-involves themselves in player personnel decisions. It's played out countless times across many organizations over the years (including our own far too many times) Let the experts do their jobs - and go count your money and your play toys in the corner somewhere else
