  1. This team lives and dies by Josh Allen. There is an entire franchise on his shoulders. He's the best player on the team, and maybe the best we've ever had. Right now he needs to remove his head from his butt and simply eliminate the awful errors. All three losses this season would be eliminated if we just got conservative in the red zone and kicked FGs. I'm not saying we have to do that, but suger high Josh needs to be brought to heel. If we had a more balanced team w decent blocking we might be able to run once up three scores, but we don't, so we need Josh to be super man, but also avoid the big mistakes. It's not easy, but it's what we need.
  2. if we want to win a super bowl, we simply need production from the TE and RB positions. we have had red zone issues, our biggest issue by far is turning the ball over. the only thing that might be able to help w both of those is to give the D something other than Josh throwing deep or running to worry about. RBs and TEs are on the roster, they have to be schemed and they have to perform. it's just that simple, and i do agree coaching has to correct this.
  3. oliver is a good player, but not a great one. he's our 3rd best lineman after von (obv) and then groot.
  4. that stood out to me as well. tbh, i think allen was sorta blagging and bragging about bout how he's such a stud he doesn't even need to practice type of vibe, but that he does do some work. i think allen's issue his whole career is when he gets mentally too excited, or scared, or whatever that takes him off of his game, he reverts to bad habbits -- bad feet, looking guys down, over throwing short and under throwing long, just being off in small amounts. he can put the ball on the ground too, but hasn't as much lately, and even when he's up against a wall and stressed out, his running is great always. bottom line -- our d has been beat to sheet, and they still do at least OK in terms of points and TDs, our O has been healthy for the most part and ha had a few really bad quarters. we need to get more production out of guys not named diggs ro allen, and we need to be much much better w the football.
  5. I've said it before, I'll say it again. This fricken team is just way too sloppy w the ball. Horrible picks and the ball has been up for grabs all season.
  6. Allen was hot dog poop, something is on his head, he was not prepared or focussed at all today. Awful. We have no weapons outside of diggs. Davis is a JAG, Knox is an expensive jag, and our rb position stinks. Aaaasnd injuries on d and the run d is back to worst. Every mcd team has a mod season just total turd.
  7. Allen stinks today, but our weapons are pretty dull. Motor just bogs down nearly every run, and Davis is streaky and is only on sometimes. Knox got a good contract to be a replacement level player.
  8. ya, that's fair, also i think they wanted an option incase they can't get to a new deal w motor. overall, i think our front office is really quick to pull the plug on guys who fumble or make mistakes w the ball, and they will be more likely to run plays that use rbs if they have confidence in the rb on the field. imo, they'll use our new weapon a couple different ways and it will let them to break tendencies somewhat.
  9. i think this move was just to add team speed and give us a little extra wrinkle, so we can run or pass out of same formation a bit better. wheel routes and screens are totally our absolute weakness schematically on O, we do so much down the field and actually run the ball well enough when we do lately, but we attack guys dropping 8 and doing jail house rushes w kinda the same stuff which puts a ton of pressure on allen, that a guy out the back field who can turn a small play into a big play is a huge get. i remember our 2021 (post 2022) game at kc, we were in it kinda late, but motor dropping a pass and zero answer for them mugging our WRs all game really showed to me how we needed some more balance. a couple plays out of the back field passing like that woulda cracked open the miami pass rush this season too.
  10. a good number, if not most, libertarians would argue that this isn't actually capitalism (not in the sense of what they like anyhow). the licensing and IP stuff is all via government control. basically, since images aren't economically scarce no one can actually own them, so the nfl can't tell someone what to put or not put on a broadcast.
  11. given we are 13 point favorites, i think that makes the odds of us driving the JETS differential negative after next week about 35%
  12. as bad as the run d looked, given the score, time left, and where the ball was on the pitch, the D did well enough all considered. once again, i think the issue w the team is the sloppiness w the ball on O. if we stay healthy and get that sorted, this is going down as an all time team.
  13. im in new jersey and my wife has suggested taking my family (daughter 8, son 6) to bills at jets. i really really don't want to deal with psycho jets fans potentially starting fights or throwing stuff, or just the horrible antics they get up to. now, for a bills game it's somewhat the same, but more about people just acting like vagrants. if i go up to buffalo for a game, i basically have to get good club seats. considering that i have to fly up there (or a long drive) and get a hotel for the fam anyhow, it's a small % increase.
  14. the more i see of this trend, the more i think that kordel stewart was born way too early. he'd be a monster in the modern nfl. as it was, he was sort of breaking rules and his o gave him zero accommodation for his skills. interesting read.
  15. its no secret mcd's d is all about a deep and nasty front. the last couple seasons we over paid for jag performance, but we seem to have righted that in one single offseason. diggs allen, and to a lesser extent knox are getting paid hard on O, but so much of our team's resources are on the D. we are one of very few Ds that could take the injuries we have so far this season and performed they way we've seen.
  16. even tho he's a dirt bag i'd take him to put our team over the top. i would be worried someone would transpose the first letters of his first and last name tho.
  17. Wait, are you my long lost friend Rato Snibum?
  18. Ya, i suppose thems the facts, but in the same sense our D was #1 last season, but i really didn't think we had the best d, and it was obvious we lacked some physical power and pass rush up front. now i am convinced our d is the best (which is why i think we win it all this year) hands down. to me, the eye test of our o vs other top o's is the degree of difficulty. our big plays come from way more heroic stuff, which is fun to watch but isn't what the coaches would want. KC has more just great plays inside of their scheme IMO. the gap has shrunk for sure, and it's mad close either way, but until our TE and RB positions can make consistent solid contributions for us scoring and in a variety of situations, i worry that if someone really takes diggs away, allen has to run and gun and throw lesser players open all day to get it done. they did just pass us on the dvoa data as reported in this thread, so some stats support it.
  19. ya, more varied attack, better oline, better red zone, seem to force things/protect the ball a touch better. if we get rb and te and red zone and all that working better, i could see us passing them, and it's pretty close as is.
  20. i think it's fair to say kc has the better O than we do, we just have josh and diggs to perform miracles at times. on D, i think we really are the best this season tho. to get what we have gotten done with all the injuries and vz live opposition is a big thing. on O, blocking could be better, but more fixable in the short term we need to figure out some better red zone stuff, and just be less sloppy w the ball. a couple small changes there and this really could be an all time team.
  21. the two things that i've seen that could lead to the downfall of this team are redzone O and being careless w the ball (i'd say tipped passes are part of that). that's why we lost to miami. kicking FGs on 4th and not getting cute could have lead us to a comfortable win. i get we want to be aggressive and all that, but we have to consider that our D is the best in the nfl, and having a sick point margin is great, but i think we'd happily exchange being + 95 (which is shocking in 6 games, madden on the easy level type stuff) for being 6-0 instead of 5-1
  22. i think it is a few factors. 1, nfl Ds see allen as the number one threat, so they are more prepped and know they have trouble getting to him so they get their hands up 2 our O. all of our short passes are still up field and generally in the middle. we don't run the wheel routes (altho we should w gillium, he's never covered) and wr screens and such that so many other teams do, giving their qb a short pass w no one between them and the target. 3. Allen himself. part of it is as said before he does stare down receivers sometimes. the other part is his quick release. he has (if not the fastest) one of the fastest start of wind up to ball out of hand motions ever measured. because of that he gets more time than anyone else to make a decision. that leads to the super mega awesome plays we love. it also leads to him kinda pushing it to the limit, and on shorter or mid range stuff, that combined w his "arc" of a flat line cuz he throws so hard means linemen can stare at his eyes and just stick their hands up when he shows whatever his tell to them is.
  23. the people touting the revenge factor/beating a childhood idol factor for allen have it right. he was overly tense/star struck in his rookie game, coming off of (or at least close to) a huge upset win in Minni. he had a terrible terrible performance. he will likely never play aaron rogers again, fellow cali qb and a legend of the game. i could see josh forcing a couple things early (sugar high josh) but once he gets it together he will be magic man once again. i expect another blowout home win.
  24. interdasting, how many snaps did he play vs kc and baltimore? i always worry about crazy numbers early in the season when things can get slanted based on who you have played (remember our stats on d last year, and how philly has looked this year). he looks good based on what i've seen of him so far this year tho, ill say that
  25. could it be for a db? they've been banged up in the back end, perhaps some of the injury recovery times have gotten longer?
