  1. Dude, habits can kill you faster than a bullet! We are way way way too sloppy with the ball. Not hitting diggs and then this trash play is just awful. Really hope it is over turned
  2. sad it won't be for this game, but by the playoffs having elam and tre ready to go means we can basically go press man, zone, or any kind of mix/disguise we want. that's something we really haven't been able to do before. the old nfl/rex ryan ideal would be to blitz underneath that, now it's to get pressure w 4, SOMETIMES 5, and to spread out and take stuff underneath away as well. i always criticized our D for having some schematic issues (namely asking the LBs to do an impossible task too often), but it really is a futuristic D, but massively reliant on a fresh and game DL and pass rush. now that we have it i think we can be special.
  3. i still think we are the best team in the nfl, even w what we have shown in terms of injuries. my biggest concern, and it's why we lost the fish game and why the baltimore game was so disgusting to start (and we saw it in our other 3 blow out wins, it just didn't matter) is that we are way way too sloppy w the football. the fumbles, and at least a few of josh's pics have been bad decisions. he's not forcing it, because we've seen it in games where we are in total control (although he was forcing it vs miami near the end), but the one big thing we can improve on is taking care of the football. our total pursuit of big plays on o, and our dedication to stopping them on d i think sets us up to beat anyone, and to come back or control in any game, but we can't gift wrap points for the opponents. i think we will win this going away, but my heart will be up around my throat for a lot of it!
  4. i was all over allen when we picked up, i thought he was the best guy in the draft. i thought rosen was too physically weak to be an nfl star, also when allen had a reasonably better wonderlic, i figured rosen was just a coached up lil brat. i also thought darnold and mayfield would be great too, and i thought jackson was destined to be another position other than qb. so technically i was 2/5 on 2018 qbs, but based on my Josh^2 analysis, i was pretty top notch.
  5. i read in this thread he's 24 years old. that's insane, 5th year of pro nfl experience, not yet old enough to pay general rate for a car rental. if he really has turned the corner and figured out the NFL, he could be a 10 more year monster in the middle.
  6. you're not wrong, but the best ability is availability. knox has been banged up and is only on the field so much (reasonable, but we have a lot of different looks on O, or at least did last seasons). edmunds is always on D, and is so rarely hurt. from that POV, he has insane value. i've been down on him, and thought he'd come through last season and frankly didnt, but when asked about himself he said about as much, which is a big risk/character move for an nfl player. i'd rate edmunds over knox, and this is coming from a (former?) edumunds hater and knox fan, if for nothing else based on volume of work. they are both rawer young pure athlete types, frankly they could both become long term pillars for a championship team
  7. They let up two real drives. The last one was stopped w the int. Looking at the games this season, our d allows two real drives a game. We aren't getting trucked as bad as we did last season at times either. Some of the stats are better for the O, and Josh really is our whole team, but the D is the better squad this season.
  8. I wonder, he looked so sad and was kneeling, but the announcers were too stupid to notice what the camera crew was filming
  9. Really want us to pull through here. Much better, but reminds me a bit of the Indy game at home last season, and the Philly game at home two seasons before. We are soft and rain kills us. As a team we have bad hands, way too many drops and fumbles.
  10. An Allen rpo on first down woulda torched the ravens d
  11. Tbh, is rather take the ball away here and win by 17, but I'll take any kinda of win today
  12. Both lbs have been good this year. Dropping picks means you were there
  13. Watch it, that's one of history's smartest men your arguing with!
  14. Yup, sad but true. The rain helps Baltimore not give up big plays, but dirty and aggressive up front w lots of looks frustrates Allen and he presses. The way to beat that of course is balance and just gashing them on run plays. Diggs needs to step up tho, he's a ghost out there today
  15. Let's flipping goooooooi
  16. He'd have picked up a couple first downs and extended early drives at the absolute minimum. If he managed to catch a ball out rbs dropped he mighta broken one
  17. Ding ding ding. If we can flip that script and go + turnovers in the second half we win this game.
  18. I think we are both wrong/right. It's all of it, and scheme, but imo great rb play can get the line blocking better And while the run blocking is usually cheeks, easy passes getting dropped all the time is on the rb
  19. Bro, this is a very good point. We have not had any discipline on O wrt protecting the ball.
  20. Even tho he dropped a good pass like a clown, cook needs some burn. If we have an RV who can make a positive impact on this roster, it's him
  21. Playing a bit more rough and rowdy, what they needed to do last week. Great drive. Imagine this team w like hand offs, toss sweeps, screens, near average NFL RB play
  22. I was not thinking that at first today, but you are so right. This game so far and last game (even tho we moved the ball well) is on a lack of offensive execution
  23. If a d can take diggs away, we basically can't play. Davis is OK, knox is kinda OK, beyond that we have nothing. And our total zero production from the running back position is insane! Fumbles and drops, but also not fast
  24. I bet other NFL teams look at us as a fitness front running team. Keep it close or get ahead, get rough with us, and we fold. Sad to see, I hope they can turn this around
  25. i think it's luck, magic skill, or scheme, but it is hilarious that we put veteran OL (bad ones, obv) on the line and they can't execute a center snap, but we line up someone who showed hustle bagging groceries when mccoach was at wegmans at CB and cut miami's offensive production in 3 from their prior game.
