  1. I haven't really seen him play much. Not convinced Dennison is the guy to groom a qb, but I was pretty impressed.
  2. I'm not a Rudolph fan, but I am certainly not an expert. He's the fella I think could slip to the second round. I would take him there if I am still looking for a qb. Of course, if he is as good as you think, you take him in the first. To me, whenever I watched him, his judgment seemed questionable, his arm strength okay, but not equal to his stature, his wr corps has several future pros, and his conference plays poor defense, generally. OTOH, I like Mayfield who plays in the same conference.
  3. He does need a lot of work and I'm really not sure inaccuracy is all that correctable, though as some point out, there are extenuating circumstances that mitigate his flaws. I prefer Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield. (Jackson and Allen have different question marks, but they both seem high risk/reward picks to me.) I expect Mayfield is the only fella we have a real shot at (of those I favor). If, however, we don't trade up for a qb, Mayfield is gone and Allen is sitting there, I'd be tempted to gamble. Just be prepared to sit him the first year and let him learn.
  4. Someone will take Allen in the first round.
  5. I can't argue with that. I loved TM's deadpan schtick, but it turns out he made a lot of terrible decisions.
  6. Yeah, this is assuming the Skins have no real leverage to force an expensive trade. I personally would not pay a king's ransom and I am ambivalent about Cousins, period.
  7. Right. If you sign Cousins, you use picks to build around him. I don't think he's as good as the price tag is likely to be, but he's certainly not a bridge qb.
  8. Monumentally stupid is in our wheelhouse.
  9. Even your proposed counter-offer seems like too much to me. I certainly agree with the assessment of the putative deal as currently imagined. Oh, and I also concur with the rationale for using FA money to build around a cheaper, younger qb.
  10. Her father had much more talent than either of his children. Demerits for Hanoi Jane, but Barbarella is ridiculous, campy fun, so I forgive her.
  11. Sounds a bit like Rich Gannon. For the right price, I could be persuaded, but it sounds like lots of money and draft picks could be involved.
  12. And even then, I don't really want him. I dunno. He doesn't seem like a clutch qb or the sort that can elevate those around him. Maybe I am wrong. He's not my last choice, but not my first. I am ambivalent, but I definitely don't want to trade a boatload of picks to get him. And if Shady is right, why would we?
  13. Well, I don't know about that, but the voices in my head say you are definitely a figment of my imagination.
  14. Yeah, Smith is not a gunslinger with a noodle arm. Still don't want him.
  15. So, the surmise here is that Leroi is DD's source if he is in fact legit? QB evaluators seem to still be following the old school parameters . . . the sort of criteria that brought us EJ. (And I liked EJ and held out hope much longer than most.) Nevertheless, Cousins, Smith, and Darnold, who we will not be in a position to draft most likely does not sound like a good plan to me. Personally, I would not dismiss Mayfield from consideration.
  16. I'm not high on Allen, but he's not getting out of the first round.
  17. Too many question marks to be comfortable taking Allen where he is likely to be taken.
  18. Same name. I'm not clever enough to figure out alter egos most of the time.
  19. JeffisMagic is a big Mayfield fan. So am I, for what it's worth.
  20. Not even sure Housley returns next year we are so bad.
  21. Double ugh. Don't want Smith if you have to trade picks to get him and Rudolph is an average arm, below average decision making fella with superior wr corp in a bad defense conference.
  22. He's not that good. Okay arm, not great decision making, several pros in his wr corp in a conference that doesn't play defense. OTOH, he might be there in the second round.
  23. I'll grant that the folks who liked Orton will swoon over Smith.
  24. It's a plausible scenario, I suppose. Alex Smith will be 34 next season. I'd be alright signing him if we also drafted a potential franchise qb, but I don't think he's anything more than a better bridge qb. I really doubt the fanbase would be enthused about the notion of Alex Smith for the next four to five years. It might work, but I am skeptical.
  25. I liked this post until you mentioned Alex Smith.
