My order of preference is Rosen/Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Allen. Folks I trust are not high on Allen, but he undoubtedly has arm talent you can't teach. Mayfield and Jackson are the fellas I think we have a reasonable shot at.
-
Fella was talking about SF as a trade partner to move up. I mentioned Chicago as a trade partner because of Trubisky.
-
Bears are also an option if they lose out. Browns, Giants still likely to be one, two, which means the odds of getting Rosen or Darnold are not high.

Rudolph does not have superb arm talent. It's okay. He also has several future pros in his wr corps and plays in a conference that doesn't play a lot of defense. I think he's very average. I targeted Rudolph early in the year as someone to watch and he just doesn't impress me. Fella that goes by Kirby Jackson posted an article outlining his strengths and weaknesses. I tried to search for it, but I'm not clever about that sort of thing. My order of preference is Rosen/Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Allen, Rudolph. If we pick him, I will of course hope he is the next Jim Kelly and that I am wrong about him.

Ahh, I'm with the fella who thinks lb is more of an issue than folks are crediting. And please, OBD, look at Sony Michel in the middle rounds. He's your eventual replacement for Shady and a great #2 right out of the gate. But qb has to be the priority.

Rudolph will be available late first, maybe even the second. You don't have to trade up to get him and I'd be disappointed if he was our pick.

Yes, I think so, but it's hard to make a joke with qualifiers in it

The rule is if you are Seattle or Tennessee a marginally forward pass is a lateral.

Week 14: Colts' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced

Really? The turnover on this team is going to be large. Franchise qb is the fast-track key to winning culture. We need draft capital to make that happen. -
Some GOOD news. Chiefs lost :)

The best way to establish a winning culture is to get a franchise qb. Past 18 years are immaterial in terms of grabbing a top qb prospect. Does this draft class have enough qb talent to justify an early pick? If so, you need to move up and get a real qb. -

Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way, though the heavy toll negates a true sense of achievement or profit. -
You might have to trade up to get Mayfield when all is said and done.

Tyrod injury: patella contusion, day-to-day
Dr. Who replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I keep reading that Taylor and Dennison's offense aren't compatible. Others have also complained about the new blocking scheme which went away from the aggressive approach that yielded a generally more effective run game. Whatever accomodations were made for Tyrod, they didn't seem to consistently use read-option and roll outs, though we may have used them some. I personally just don't think Taylor is a quality starting qb. Regardless, I agree they would be happy to unload Taylor for a mid-round pick. -

Forced made some sense the EJ year when there really weren't first round grade qbs available. There will be some in 2018. Fortunately, our desperation and rational action are not antithetical under those conditions. -
Some thoughts on today's game and the future
Dr. Who replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been torn on this insofar as we have so many glaring holes, I have wanted to both trade up for qb and keep enough in reserve to substantially improve elsewhere. I hope we don't have to choose, but if it takes a boatload to get the qb, get the qb. -

Well, I think we have the ammo to grab the third best qb. If Darnold comes out, I'd be more than happy with either Rosen, Darnold, or Mayfield. If not, I think Jackson may be around for one of our firsts and I would take a shot. No way in Hades you are selling this fan base on any form of even potentially building around Tyrod. He appears a fine person and an excellent athlete, but I don't think he's really capable of being consistently good at qb. Given the lower threshold, I would agree he is a solid backup. -

Really, this is precisely the time of year when one switches from long-shot wild card calculations to figuring out draft scenarios. It's going to end up a typical 7-9 type mediocre finish. At least the Chiefs are swooning. Now go up and get a real qb for goodness sake. -

And yet last week, some folks were suggesting we build around Tyrod. -
Sabres & NHL 2017-18 - Entry Draft on June 22
Dr. Who replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I surely did not expect the disaster this season has been. You have to wonder about Housley. If you could look at the Amerks and project a juggernaut in a few years, it would be easier to take, but I don't really have confidence that will happen. Better hope a fair number of fellas in the pipeline are going to hit. -
I am ambivalent about Allen based on what I have read about him. I have not seen him play, but the folks on this board who seem bright about qb seem uncertain or positively against him. So I am just going off what they have said. I've seen Mayfield and Jackson and think they have potential. Anyway, Allen has the measurables in abundance. Unless he really, really, really doesn't want to play for Cleveland. (And who could blame him)

Some folks want to spend crazy to move up. I am reticent to do that, but I do think your basic point is correct. If you identify a franchise qb and don't have one, you have to go get the fella. Just having one should make attracting free agents easier. Imo, Rosen and Darnold are the only qbs I would put in that class. I just doubt Cleveland or the Giants move off their pick if they are at #1 and #2 and that leaves you trying to grab third best qb on your chart. I have Mayfield and Jackson as targets more likely in our range. I think both have a chance at being very good qbs, but there are more question marks.
