  1. Of course, now that things have played out the way they have, I rather selfishly hope you are right. It's a reasonable take. Oh, and as a Dawgs fan, it was almost a relief, though also gratifying, to finally get past Nick Saban. I was a young man when we won with Herschel. How time flies . . .
  2. If this draft is the model for drafting going forward, you are right. As an effort to win a SB, it makes perfect sense to me and I am generally on board with it. I basically agree with New Era. Myself, I was arguing to package 25 and next year's first to go get Jameson Williams because I think he is going to be a special player who would make our offense very hard to stop. But that is a risky strategy, too. On the whole, I won't complain about this one. Don't make chasing the perfect strategy the enemy of the good . . . and prudence is choosing what is wise in the moment. I'm not convinced your strategy is right for this moment.
  3. Yes, that is correct, but then you are playing out hypothetical scenarios with players from the latter rounds which is more work than it is worth, imo.
  4. I think McBride was the last second round grade that mattered.
  5. OTOH, Beane claims he would have taken Shakir in the 4th. If true, and you're free to be a skeptic, it's virtually a sixth. (And either way, it would not change it for me.)
  6. Perhaps. From last year, which of course, he may improve upon, Stevenson was very fast at finding the oncoming kick coverage and running right into it.
  7. Didn't know Gunner had a burner account.
  8. I've seen a lot of both White and Cook as I am a huge UGA fan and live just outside Athens. You're just not correct in your analysis. White is certainly a good back. I think he has a chance to do well with the Raiders. High character player who is a power runner. Cook is a different kind of back, very versatile, quick, shifty, and dangerous. They are not identical skills sets, so I am not sure how you think they could fill the same need. Yes, Cook is probably a third round value, but end of the second is pretty close, Beane accumulated two picks, and did not risk losing a playmaker for the offense.
  9. I am surmising Beane was hoping one of the wrs or McBride would slide down to him. When they didn't, he traded back twice before selecting Cook.
  10. Live near Athens. Cook is a great pick. Has slot receiver abilities.
  11. Bo Melton, WR, Rutgers and Isaiah Likely, TE, Coastal Carolina are two fellas I am hoping for.
  12. I was very much about upgrading WR, so I agree with your general sentiment. I do think Cook is a nice pick who will impact the passing game. He is like a slot receiver coming out of the backfield.
  13. Isaiah Likely would be a great receiving option to add. They missed out on WRs worth taking. Yeah, he's a really nice fella. Too bad I have to root against him now . . .
  14. He's coming across as a very likeable dude. And if there's one thing you can trust McD on, it's coaching dbs to max out their talent.
  15. Alright, a universal condition doesn't indicate not addressing depth issues on offense. A young IOL with potential, a speed wr with size, and a pass catching rb are all reasonable asks when the GM has said that he wants to support Josh Allen with actual players. Bandaid veteran Free Agents is not enough.
  16. It's absurd arguing with someone who repeatedly makes moronic comments, but did you really just say that all teams are basically in the same boat to an offense that is reliant on a qb being their best rb, the best qb in the league under pressure, and constantly elevating mid-level talent? And if you want to be excellent, the target should be maximizing your elite qb by giving him more top level playmakers so when the multiplier factor of having said qb kicks in, the end result is superior.
  17. We literally spent the bulk of FA dollars on Von Miller and then added across the DL. Crowder, oft injured OJ Howard, Duke Johnson and 34 year old coming off an injury Saffold on offense. We need playmakers and still need to bolster the oline.
  18. Still some nice WR talent available in the second (Watson, Pierce, Moore, Pickens). I would include McBride at TE and Hall at RB as fellas that could help, but I am skeptical any of them make it to 57.
  19. Hall and Walker are the only backs worth taking in the second. I like Cook in the third if we don't get one of the former. I think Walker could be there @ 57; I can't see Hall falling that far and we used our 4th to secure Elam so not sure what currency there is to move up with.
  20. Fella lost his wheels about half way through the season. Not happening and shouldn't.
  21. You mean SB favorites, but I can see the Freudian slip given our draft preference.
  22. Very surprised if he falls that far.
  23. Yeah, I hope that's all smoke and he does the opposite for a certain Alabama WR. If he goes the safe route and KC or NE goes up and grabs Jameson Williams, it will be a crying shame, because he's the exact piece to make Josh Allen unstoppable.
  24. Plausible, though unless there are additional medicals on Booth, I think he is the more likely pick if both he and Elam are available.
  25. There are plenty of dopes, but there is also a fairly strong contingent of intelligent posters, some exceptional in the content they bring. That is less common relative to other boards, I think, but I am biased, of course.
