  1. What did we get? NFLN seems to be slow on my feed. You guys told me about the trade a good 2 mins before it showed up for me
  2. Wow. The BPAs are mostly not in our areas of need. Edit- Trade makes soo much sense
  3. Is it me or do these selected DEs look too light? As OLBs I can understand weight around 250 but Jordan and Mingo look too slim.
  4. Is it a ummm.... she-dog?
  5. Yes on both counts. I do actually record both channels for Rd 1-3. Its the best reality show on TV. Drama, suspense, emotion, elation (well not me lately) And yes, my wife did actually ask those questions You are welcome. It is fun replaying the comments .
  6. "you are recording this. Why do you have to watch it right now ?" "Why are you recording the same program on two channels - ESPN and NFLN "
  7. Extensively discussed already.... in a thread started by you. http://forums.twobil.../page__hl__byrd
  8. Just as a point of reference, James Harrison's contract is worth a max of $4.45 MM over two years http://www.steelersdepot.com/2013/04/james-harrison-new-contract-with-bengals-totals-out-at-4-45-million-max/ I think this is a very reasonable contract. Compared to Dansby, Harrison is 3 years older but has similar 'name value'. If we sign Dansby, I expect it will be higher than Harrison's contract probably in the 3 MM per year range total.
  9. I am having the same problem with Adobe plugins in Firefox. My wife complained about it a couple of days back and I manually updated the plug-in to no effect. However, if I click on "Activate the Adobe plugin" message, the video plays fine. A pain if you ask me ! Something in the latest Firefox version has messed things up.
  10. While it may not feel like a multi-billion dollar business, that is exactly what it is (dated information but still valid): "Knoxville's Pilot Flying J now has 496 outlets -- combination gas stations and retail stores -- that produced about $30 billion in sales in 2011" http://money.cnn.com/2012/10/22/smallbusiness/flying-pilot-j-haslam.fortune/index.html I don't have a link but a few years back, the refining and petrochemical giant from India, Reliance Industries, had visited with Flying J to learn how they run the truck stop business. They took a non-glamorous business and through a combination of innovation and services, made a massive business out of serving truck drivers. On a personal note, several years back, I did a small project for the Flying J refinery in Salt Lake City and the employees were some of the nicest bunch I have encountered. None of this commenting on their potential trouble with the law, but they are not a trivial outfit and indeed have some things to be admired for.
  11. Belated birthday wishes, Chef. Hope you didn't run into any bicyclists yesterday. Dang, beat me to a bicyclist joke
  12. Well stated. My first reaction on seeing his stats was tjat he is a depth signing that may affect our later rounds but not 1-3.
  13. Your skill could be valuable. Who do you think is not worth a first round pick this year?
  14. Ooooh that will create quite the stir in Chicago. Though doubts about Cutler have occasionally surfaced in the chicago tribune, I haven't seen much mention of them looking at a QB. If a offensive minded HC selects a QB in the 1st round of a QB-weak class, it will be quite telling.
  15. New coach, no Urlacher, no Roach. I think Chicago will be a D looking for an identity. IMHO, they will go D heavy in the draft.
  16. I hold the power and home buttons together for a couple of seconds. It saves the screen capture to the picture gallery
  17. The question is maturity. Lack of it will hurt the Bills in games. Penalties, maybe lack of concentration. Why do we need this distraction? As others have said, prove your Pats* hatred on the field. There was no reason or joke about wishing a foreign power to bomb an opponents stadium. None whatsoever.
  18. He is not in any legal trouble as Lynch used to get into. But he is a distraction of the sort that is not required. He was in check last season but this transgression makes me wonder if he will once again cause a stupid penalty or drop a catch that costs us a game. I am not confident any more that he is mature enough to handle all game situations. And as I said, lack of WRs should not be the sole reason we put up with his antics. As an example, my company touts safety above everything else. If an employee repeatedly flaunts safety rules, he will be fired no matter how indispensable his services are to our customers.
  19. I am late to this discussion and haven't read through all the pages. On this issue, I am with you on this issue. Our country is facing down this stupid upstart from N Korea. If this escalates, it could send thousands of our guys to war risking their lives. Secondly, besides the petty sports rivalries, Foxboro is part of the US. I don't want to even joke about anyone hurting a grain of sand in our country. Of all the things Stevie can joke about, he finds this situation funny ? To get cute about ? I think it is absurd. My take is that he just a major attention seeker. He managed to keep himself in check during the regular season but his personality willed him to do something that will get him attention. I understand that his on-field performance is very good. But what will it take for this guy to grow up and keep his trap shut ? I was getting mildly irritated with his stupid antics but was feeling hopeful after last season's tame behavior. Now he does this and jokes about a major political issue that can risk American lives. Sorry to be a prude, guys, but this is plain stupid and juvenile. We really need WRs, but at what point does the FO get sick of this side circus ?
  20. At the time of FA last year, we could have used an upgrade at RT as Hairston was manning the LT spot. So yes, there was dismay cos we could not get him but when it was evident he was using the Bills , I was comfortable in us 'losing out' I was thinking the same thing but looked through his career notes and don't see where he has played G at all. So, unless I am missing something, getting him as a G is not an option
  21. The guy in those 'Halloween' movies who just won't die
  22. While I agree with that thought, I just haven't seen Smith showcase that talent here in BUffalo. The ability is there based on his performance with the Jets, but is this a case of Gailey not utilizing him properly ? His skills not fitting Gailey's schemes ? All the talent and ability mean squat if not used. IMHO, this is the year that Smith has to play up to his paycheck. If he cannot in Marrone's system also, he will be a goner next off-season.
  23. I am assuming you are referring to Brad Smith. Unless Marrone et al plan to use him at WR, I think he is one who should be on the chop block as he is not a 'value' player. His contributions are underwhelming compared to Nelson. My first reaction to the Nelson non-tender was that he was not at full strength and not expected to be either. I would like for him to be back also, if healthy. Wait, why I am I laughing ?
  24. And there is the rub. MY issue with JP has always been his attitude. Undoubtedly he is one of the best at his position. But between his pouting due to contract, non-motivation due to the team having a losing season and his injuries, it is tough to get the full JP every game. Even if you throw out his rookie year, he has started 96 games in 8 seasons. Of the latter ones in Buffalo, he was surely not giving it his all. I would rather have a player with 90% of his talent but who brings his effort, attitude and team spirit in every game. Even in this referenced interview, he said he was good enough to play but didn't want to cos the team was in a losing season anyway. I just shake my head at an individual paid multi-million dollars a year having this point of view.
  25. And the circle of life is complete. Flynn to Raiders, Palmer to Cards, Kolb to Buffalo and Thigpen to Seattle.
