  1. I have said before and will say it again - I don't trust Nix to make the right call. He has been roundly (and rightfully) criticized for blowing the QB situation in his tenure so far. He sounds desperate to fix his legacy and IMHO, is not going to be objective enough to make a decision for the first two rounds. I hope Brandon and Whaley use his input but ultimately take the decision out of his hands - whether it is for or against drafting a QB in the first round.
  2. Umm... they were the second seed in the AFC and just played in the AFC Championship game. A tad less dominant perhaps but premature to call it 'crumbling'. Perhaps you were being sarcastic. But Pats* and the Lewis situation is quite unlike. Pats* were accused of cheating and Lewis of a lot worse. And if you were not sarcastic, huge scandals can indeed taint a person's reputation as in the case of Ben Johnson, Lance Armstrong etc.
  3. I agree that the experiment itself was a failure. But I think Fitz's inherent problems were unfixable by an improvement in mechanics alone. Can't place full blame at Lee's feet.
  4. (Ignoring Lewis' Atlanta incident), I prefer watching Lewis' drama than another two weeks of the media falling over themselves trying to prove who salivates more about the the Pats* and Brady.
  5. Congrats to the 49ers. Very well played game. If the Pats* are to reqch the Superbowl, at least we will be assured of a good team against them. The Falcons, for all their record, just didnt inspire confidence.
  6. Unbelievable. 9Ers getting blown off the LOS. All Jones so far. 9ers O better put together a long drive even if it results in a FG. Now
  7. 9Ers really playing soft on D
  8. Sweet throw and better play by Jones. Dirty Birds strike first
  9. Anyone watching today ;-)
  10. Maybe I am repeating some information already posted but: - Sound originates from the 'device'. Typically, a DVD/Blu Ray/CD player, DirecTV box, Roku box etc. The TV itself can originate sound if you have hooked up an antenna and don't get feed from any cable/DTV boxes - I would highly recommend a discreet system and not a hybrid. You can create a combination for a wide range of budgets. Key always is to first decide on a budget. - I haven't played with soundbars much but don't have a favorable opinion of them. Get a true system to experience surround sound. Frankly, there is nothing like having 5 separate speakers + 1 sub woofer for true surround sound. Everything else is just make believe - Don't buy Bose - Depending on how much effort (time) you want to spend on your searches, this is an excellent source of information and discussion: http://www.avsforum.com/ Basics are explained here: http://www.avsforum.com/t/968859/avr-faq - Analog output can originate from a DVD/Blu Ray player where the separation of channels is done at source. Six separate wires go from this device to your receiver. The receiver does minimal to zero processing of sound Lot more to explain if you have specific questions. Good luck and do spend some extra time researching - it is very rewarding and will give you years of listening pleasure
  11. Methinks its too late for that. Esp when playing against Brady.

  13. Great weekend of football so far. Now if the Pats* lose, it will be a perfect playoff weekend
  14. Clutch throws by Ryan. 8 more seconds left. I wish Smith had let the clock run down a bit more
  15. I agree, its a TD. Huge choke job by the Falcons so far but will still get one more chance.
  16. Smith is not a huge upgrade (he wouldnt be available if he was) but his recent record shows that he has improved: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/154432-mike-freeman-of-cbs-almost-guaranteeing-alex-smith-landing-in-buffalo/page__st__200 The problem with putting all our eggs in the rookie basket is that this is a very risky strategy. For a beleagured franchise such as the Bills, we need success, quickly. Even a Sanchez-type pick could blow up in the face of this coaching staff and we cannot afford more years of futility. Smith is a safe upgrade over Fitz for sure. It will put a firm floor on the QB performance, a floor which is a few levels above what Fitz provides us. The ceiling will be defined by who we draft in this or next year's draft.
  17. The Falcons, for all their record, just didn't give off a great vibe throughout the season. This game will help define what kind of a team they are. Quite talented but can they execute ?
  18. I may have spoken too soon Falcons D is playing safe and scared. Huge Falcons drive coming up. Time for Matt Ryan to strengthen or refute his reputation as a high-level QB.
  19. Quite a masterful drive by the Falcons. Responded to rhe SeAttle TD with one of their own. This should seal it for the Falcons.
  20. We should be rooting for the 9ers and Kaepernick to do real well in the playoffs. That will make Smith's availability much more likely. If CK chokes, the 9ers may have second thoughts about hitching their wagon to Kaepernick

  22. I think so too. He was made a scapegoat. A huge trade for Cutler and not many resources into protecting him. Rumor is that Emery and Co. are using this as an opportunity to poll coordinators about Cutler's abilities and whether his problems originate from within himself or the surrounding cast. This is not a good reputation to have, if true. I think the Bears FO is flailing right now and don't appear to have any direction or strategy to their search.
  23. Numark has already volunteered to do analytics
  24. If I have to assign a number, I will do 6 or 7. Call it 6.5
  25. Okay here is my sentiment and it is very similar to what I felt when Gailey was hired: I am cautiously optimistic. It is refreshing to see that we have taken a different path to hiring the HC (not a retread HC). What I worry about is the combined NFL experience of the three head honchos. It has worked well in the recent past for other teams and wish it is finally the Bills turn to have done a slam bang job of choosing the best people. The choice of QB for this upcoming season will dictate the pace and strength of the recovery. As always, my good luck is always with the team and hope this is the beginning of a long and successful tenure for Marrone and Co.
