I will say, "not really" surprised. Fans of other teams probably feel the same was about Allen and the Bills offense than we do about 3rd and Short when competing against Mahomes and Jackson. Your gut tells you they will get the first down because they are so difficult to defend. Man or zone? How to defend against the QB run or scramble? It's such a dangerous down, especially now that KC, Ravens and Bills may go for a 4th and short on their own side of the field. I think most teams almost "concede" a third and short to avoid getting pasted by game breaking play. 2nd and Short is even more of a nightmare.

The only thing more dangerous than a health Mahomes is a "hobbled" Mahomes. No matter how hurt he is, if Mahomes plays, chances are the Chiefs are still the favorites.

If he's fired, I wouldn't oppose returning Shoen to the Bills front office. I was never a Jones fan, but I understand why they resigned him. The subsequent injuries made the borderline decent QB into a below-replacement-level washout. It was partially lousy luck, but Schoen was also stuck with a QB he didn't draft and maybe wasn't thrilled to keep. Critically, Shoen missed on several Olinemen and then didn't trade away Barkley and several others they didn't seem interested in resigning. Despite his failings, the 2024 draft class is pretty good. There's talent on the team, and they'll have high draft picks and a lot of cap space.

Joe Mario does a great job and while a huge fan, he’s not a homer and will tell it like it is. While it’s great he’s on six days a week, so there is a bit of excessive content creation to fill the time, though that can be excused. Also a big fan of Joe Buscaligia. I like him for all the same reasons. He’s a big Bills fan but very objective and has a knack for unique insights. He only does a game recap and one preview - both are very well-done. I’ve cut back on many of the shows. I like Matt Parinno but that show can have too much homer-ism and not a lot of fresh insight. Cover 1 is just too much. They are very knowledgeable but tend to overdo it and rarely admit they were wrong. They are also huge homers. IMO, Bruce Nolan is a MUCH better guest than as a host. As a guest he can be pressed to explain his opinions but on his own can be was too esoteric and cutesy. The best show was when he teamed up with “Nick” (?) who was a great straight man to Bruce’s philosophizing.

Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread
Max Fischer replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm more concerned about fielding a healthy team for the playoffs than beating KC on Sunday. This isn't a playoff game, if a player isn't fully ready, let them sit out and be 100% for the stretch run. -
It's simple. He's not bad, just not good, and sits behind two great cornerbacks.

No trade. Chances are Benford or Douglas will miss a few games. Kair is the new Dane Jackson (with all the caveats). Moreover, Devin might not be any better than less talented players who are bought into McDermott's system.

In October, I'll be in Barcelona for the Monday Night Jets game. I wonder if the bars are still open? 🤔

So, three pages in and not one suggestion on who would replace Martin.

Buffalo Bills Schedule Discussion / Prediction Thread

Short week for Game 2 is the best one to have. Most likely to have a healthy and well-rested team. -
What's the point of this team's philosophy?
Max Fischer replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miami is a bombs-away offense and gets continually shut down against playoff-caliber defenses. -

I didn't vote because F*ck No wasn't a choice. -
I think these kind of players are certainly the exception and not the rule. For every Myles Jack, many likely fell for a good reason.

Micah may be unpopular, but that's a thin story. -
Cover 1's Top Free Agent Fits for the Bills
Max Fischer replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD has a solid history of playing rookies who earn it. Including some who didn't (hey, Cody Ford) Milano, Edmunds, Oliver, Rousseau, White, Allen, Benford, Araiza would have been a starter, Spencer Brown, Gabe Davis, Knox, etc. -
Started at a B Movie but once Heston and Wells got on board, it was classic Noir.

Good Lord. The County Executive is NOT driving. Not only is it clear he's in the passenger seat, he has a full-time driver AND he's not subjected to the driving ban. It's hard to tell if you are willfully ignorant of how elected officials do their jobs or just enjoy griping about the stupidest crap. -

I mean, it's literally his job to see how it's going. Alternative gripe: "What does he know? He's holed up in his warm office while the real workers brave these conditions!!!!!" -
Sam Martin named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month
Max Fischer replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Martin has been excellent. Let's hope it lasts another four weeks. This week will be a huge challenge.
