  1. Roscoe Parrish showed up at training camp with his girlfriend because he thought she could stay with him.
  2. Tyrod didn't lose us many games, but he didn't win us many either. He was often too cautious, especially in the passing game. Granted, he didn't have a good set of receivers, but he was reluctant to try to throw to anybody either moving or not wide open.
  3. I remember expecting the Bills to win every time they stepped on the field those days. Losing Super bowls sucked, there's no way around that, but not going and having to hope for wins sucked even worse.
  4. Not sure it's a top ten performance, but the second half against Tampa Bay was incredible. If it wasn't for a poor first half and some questionable officiating at the end, it would be one people would talk about for a long time. He put the whole team on his back and carried them to a big comeback. It showed his desire to win and his ability to elevate the play of both the offense and defense.
  5. I was on New Years Eve cruise the night the Bills beat the Dolphins and the Bengals pulled off a miracle against the Ravens. After dinner, I sat in our state room for about 30 minutes watching scores on ESPN to find out the drought was finally over.
  6. I think you're right. Somebody did an analysis of how Milan and Edmunds complicated other team's passing games because of their speed and athleticism. The D was built around slowing/stopping the quick passing game. However, the run defense suffered at times - particularly on draws and some misdirection plays. With Edmunds gone I think we may see more 4-3, with Bernard opposite Milano on the outside. Not sure who on the roster can be the MLB unless the think Dodson can do it. Not sure he's enough of a thumper to really take on linemen.
  7. I'm Steve. I live in southwest Ohio, north of Cincinnati. I became a Bills fan when I went to the University of Buffalo in the late 70's. I watch the games at a local bar with about 100 of my closest Bills fans friends. One day, hopefully soon, I'll see the Bills win a Super Bowl. I'm 65, so it better be soon.
  8. I'm not buying the Shanghai votes. A great defense, really good multi purpose guys in Diego and, later in the year, CMC make it easier on a new QB. Ask Brady how many games the Pasties defense won
  9. We aren't going to prevent teams from scoring at all, nor will we score on every possession (although we did it last year). I get as frustrated as anyone when our guys miss on a play, but eventually I let it go. The only things that really drive me nuts are stupid penalties, and bad calls by the refs
  10. I had my knee replaced that morning.
  11. They should add Drew Bledsoe to the immobile QB list
  12. This thread is really interesting. You can discuss the value of statistics until the cows come home, but in the end, they're just a tool to narrow the field. Watching film of all the games is yet another tool to narrow that field some more, as are interviews, etc. In the end, Allen was an educated gamble, and thank our lucky stars, one that has paid off enormously. I believe that once he was in the Bills organization, they - and him - managed to do everything well in terms of developing his skills to go along with his natural abilities. If I remember correctly, Allen finally came to realize (1) you could throw a pass away rather than forcing it, (2) a drive is a series of steps, some small, some big, (3) you have to trust your teammates to do their jobs, something I'm not sure he did at Wyoming, and (4) you don't have to be a hero on every play. If nothing else, he has shown that extraordinary physical gifts are not enough. You still have to learn how to use them, seek out and accept constructive criticism to improve on them, and put in the effort to make those improvements part of your game. As an added bonus, the Bills coaches added structure and a reasonable set of expectations for his growth and continuity. The results are abundantly clear today. They were only hopes five years ago.
  13. Comeback game. Louder than a jet engine. I was in the end zone where Steve Christie kicked the game winner and couldn't hear for about a day after
  14. Ten to fifteen of us in the Dayton Ohio area get together at Franco's Italian Ristorante and have dinner, then watch the draft. We all pick the three we like/think will be picked...and groan/cheer when the pick is announced.
  15. Well, Bob, I wouldn't say I was missing it, if you know what I mean
  16. I called it before the snap
  17. Until he throws out of the wildcat, it's not going to be very effective - the gains we saw yesterday could have come from a well-executed running play from a more standard set. I think the wildcat would be more effective if Fredex took the snap with Spiller moving -- that's a tougher play to defense, and Fred has shown he can throw some (remember his TD pass to Evans a couple years ago?)
  18. Miamisburg, OH -- In the heart of Bengals territory
  19. I think he stays at least through trainig camp, unless there is something about his recovery that isn't public. He was double teamed every time he was on the field last year, and being held (watch clips of the first Pats* game). He can be a force, and on obvious passing downs could mak a huge difference.
  20. That is hilarious!! And, sadly, true...
  21. Maybe Brady should have to wear a pink uniform and a tutu so that denfensive players can't mistake him for a football player
  22. Don't forget "Attitude"
  23. I had the good luck to be at the "Greatest Comeback in NFL History" and that was the loudest place I've ever been, including being 40 feet from an F-15 in full afterburner!! It was incredibly loud at the beginning of the game, dead silent just after half-time, then un-Billievably loud when Christie kicked the game winner
  24. Absolutely -- Tim, this one was for you
