Why? Maybe some posters get a little bit over the top since we are 5-2 but we do this a lot. I did this a lot. Attack someone for wanting more from the Bills. We are all Bills fans and just want a great team finally. But some of you love to attack posters for having the gall not to praise everything this regime does. And if McDermott is going to throw stones, he should also be ready to have them thrown back at him. The offense under him has been from a different era. Again, bottom line is we are 5-2. But it does seem like a very soft 5-2 and we have our highest drafted qb ever be completely babied because it seems like they are scared to let him just play. Time will show if it’s the right move but it’s ok to have questions about it. This sums up the Bills for the last 20 years! Relax fans! We are only slightly under average! ?

20 Years of QBs and 300 yard Games
C.Biscuit97 replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m an Allen critic but I can’t put this all on him. We have a defensive minded head coach and a guy who has never proven to be a good OC. but you’re right. While 300 isn’t the most important numbers, other QBs could be putting up good passing games within our offense. I get Allen is still very young and is far from terrible. But all we ever seem to get is excuses. Why he wasn’t dominant in college. Why he really isn’t inaccurate. Why it’s everyone else fault but his. At some point, why can’t the highest drafted qb in franchise history just carry this team for a whole game? Lot of season left left but I’ve seen this story too often as a Bills fan. Defend mediocre qb play until years later realizing it’s as good as that player can do. You make solid points. And I just want to see a game where Allen is the main reason we win. Not a drive when we scored 7 points all game. Just a good 4 quarters of 28+ points. Is that too much to ask? -

Come on 59. You twisted those stats. Those are the top 10 in attempts, which would be the bad teams because they have to throw more because they are losing. For the actual passing stats that matter, yards, it’s a much different list. Atl - their offense is not the reason they are losing KC - ? dal - ? and it’s funny because they have one of the best rbs and a lot of people crap on Dak Rams - 5-3, SB runner up Lions - ok LAC - unluckiest team on the planet NE - Brady sucks GB - 7-1 ? TB - Winston kills them with turnovers Hou - playoff team NO - 7-1 and freaking Teddy Bridgewater is capable of monster passing games ? Allen is a lot closer to Tyrod than Mahomes. -
Philly fans really are the worst

Sorry boss. I didn’t mean to come across as mad or anything. I just feel like that in general. If my team isn’t it in, I really don’t care honestly. -

The Bills are stuck in another generation of football. How many years in the last 20 have we been a bottom 5 passing team? It’s so sad that some fans make excuses for this. You should watch other teams play. Throwing the football can be really exciting! -

I don’t know about that. He’s a solid 1 out of 12. -

Right now, we are lovable losers. If we ever become good, we will be completely hated. I look forward to it. -

I went to the game and I believe 90% of Bills fans are the greatest fans in the world. But we got punked by Eagles fans in our own house. It seemed like it was a 50-50 split. Kept hearing Eagles chat in the bathroom (I’m surprised they spelled it right). Generally, although they are annoying and loud, they were pretty respectful around me and there was good natured ball busting. But i I honestly can’t remember going to a home game where Bills fans seemed like the minority. It sucked. No offense but I don’t get why people care that another team beat the Pats. “Congrats on hooking up with that super chick that I couldn’t!” -
What if the 2018 qb class just isn’t that good? Looks super mediocre right now. And i hated Baker’s personality in college but grew to respect it. But when you’re losing and playing bad, he comes across like a spoiled little brat. But some media members deserve to be treated like garbage because they talk real reckless (ie Jerry Sullivan).

What "type" of fan are you? Coming clean
C.Biscuit97 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You used to complain all the time when we won with Tyrod. And I used to be an angry homer. I got mad at anyone who ever said anything not positive about the Bills. Years of losing killed that. I love the Bills the same but I’m just not irrationally going to defend every move they make because I’m a fan. I’m more show me the baby but nothing would make me happier to have a great team again even if I was proven wrong about something I said. -

You’re comparing the SB to regular season games against Miami and the Bengals? -
Marino had a 16 and Fitz had a 49. You’d rather not have a moron but doesn’t make or break a qb.

I hope so but how can anyone say that right now. MT had a fair superior 2nd year than Allen is having now.

Run Defense - Interesting Stats/Observations

The Pats gameplan to their opponents weaknesses. It’s weird that works! -
I still think there is a lot to be proven if we are better at qb yet. Allen certainly could be but it also is hard to say so when the Jags can have a 6th round pick who looks miles better as a passer than our 7th overall 2nd year qb. But long way to go. i think McDermott is an outstanding DC and one of the best secondary coaches in the nfl. Our offense is still a major work in progress after 3 years. Obviously it’s mainly on Allen but I believe Whaley’s best team would absolutely beat this current group. JMO. He was fat and out of shape and had terrible knees in Carolina. Cam won the MVP and they went 15-1 when he missed the entire year.

But stats show us that teams that run more win more often! - football guy -
Great coaches coach to their player’s strengths. I always felt Daboll was trying to force Allen into a Brady offense. Allen would be better served in a Greg Roman offense IMO. Football intelligence is completely different than test intelligence. Jim Kelly scores a 13 or something.

A lot of that is hindsight. He went all in for his qb and tried to give him the pieces to succeed. Sammy was one of the best college receivers in modern history. Our receivers were Watkins, Woods, Hogan, and Goodwin. I would kill for that collection right now. and nfl hiring is a joke. It’s basically who’s your dad (Andy Reid’s former drug addict son is a d line coach and the Ryans ) or who you are buddies with (Daboll is friends with Polian’s son). He is in the xfl right now. He clearly had his faults but to act like a guy who averaged 8 wins for a Bills franchise that has been morbid for 20 years is kinda dishonest, do you believe we are more talented now than in 2015?
