Josh Allen: Beyond the field (story)
C.Biscuit97 replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. As someone who’s been a critic of Allen’s, it’s never been personal. Everyone I know who’s met him (I never had) said he’s a great dude. But even though it doesn’t seem like it, most Bills players are great dudes. So if he can become a star on the field and be a good guy off it, that’s the dream. I was young for Jim Kelly but he apparently he was a giant prick when he played. So sadly, how good of a good you are doesn’t really matter. -
Antonio Brown files grievances, seeking more than $40M

Sad part is (and I’m guilty of it), people would rather just laugh at big of an idiot he is. But I do feel like a good start for AB is just manning up and admitting his mistakes in all of this. He loves to blame everyone else for everything. -

If you are lumping Kaepernick with Brown, you are a moron. -
Simple poll. Is Josh Allen improving as a passer?

He just had 3 tds against a defense that was undefeated and off to a record start. Honest question: do you think our record would be different with Mayfield? -

So should we take out Allen’s 202 and 2 tds against Miami? Stuff like this makes zero sense. and I do feel like his short game has improved. He’s still not good enough as a passer to be a franchise guy and I would love to see more indications that he is the type of qb that elevates his teammates. But there has been subtle improvements. -
Jason Whitlock may be on to something..

What makes football great is a lot of different people from a lot of different backgrounds become brothers. -
But that’s the catch and where some posters are stuck on Allen. My thoughts are with better, consistent qb and our really good defense, we don’t need those 4th quarter comebacks. So maybe Allen is Joe Montana, Mark Sanchez had 9 game winning tds in 2 years with the Jets. What i I would do as a OC is maybe look at those 4th quarter drives and take something out of them. Maybe go a little more uptempo or spread things out more. I just haven’t seen enough games where it seems like Allen is the major reason we won. He’s done good things but I would need to see more before declaring him a franchise guy. Luckily, we have a 6-2 and he doesn’t have to win single games single handedly. I agree it goes a bit overboard. But Bills fans have sub standards for good qb play.

Also, Whitlock has become a joke. I can guess his “take” on 95% of what he says. He takes the contrarian point of view to be like Skip Bayless. He is the same dude who loves strip clubs. I think religion is a personal thing but nothing drives me crazier than people who are religious hypocrites. Sadly, some people don’t realize some figures completely pander to their religious beliefs. Religion can be awesome. Just keep it private. -

As someone who is religious, I hate when people try to push it into things that it shouldn’t be like sports and politics. I used to pray for the Bills to win (and they actually used to more so ?). But I realized there were so many more important things than that. -

I do think McDermott is a really good DC and a very good man. I do think the culture thing gets completely overrated. We had a good culture under Jauron and Gailey. Plenty of bad teams have had a good culture. So yes while it is much better to have a good culture, talent and good coaching is what ultimately matters. Belichick is a Richard and he is arguably the greatest coach ever. -
Jim Kelly (93) vs Josh Allen (19)

Jackson’s best receiver has been hurt for like 3 weeks. And you can’t be serious about Jackson not getting criticism. He was a Heisman winning qb who people wanted to switch positions. -

It’s weird how some of you try to put down other QBs. If Allen was completing 64% of his passes, averaging 300 yards/ game, with 18 tds, coming off destroying the Pats, we build a statue for him. Why is it so hard to Jackson has been really good this year? -

Beating an undefeated team with 3 tds helps. And this is completely misleading. All qbs from Kelly’s eras laugh at how easy it to play qb now compared when they played. The rules completely favor the offense. -
Never said exclusively 10s. Come on. That’s fake news. And I’m way younger than Al Bundy and will admit I never scored 4 tds in a game. Sadly. ? but I do have to get ready for a fancy dinner. No hard feelings and enjoy your Saturday. Go Bills.

Haha. Enjoy this because it would never happen in real life. Enjoy being “tough” for the first time in your life!
-
? pm me if you want to compare resumes. Enjoy your Saturday and keep up the good fight!

It is when you win. Sucks when you lose though! I only do little bets because That’s enough for me. Plus seeing people lose $1,000 bets is a good way to see how people ruin their lives.
-
And a stupid person chimes in because he can’t read. Unless I hit a nerve.
-
Yup. Hated the signing from day one and I love Stanford players. But he will have like 3 sacks tomorrow and then continue to do nothing the rest of the year. It definitely is. Hughes has averaged 5 sacks for the last 4 years. He’s not that good. We need an elite pass rusher for this defense to become a truly elite unit.

You sound like someone who does bet or likes losing money. Because DVOA certainly helps when betting games. And we be praising the DVOA if it was higher for us. We’re 5-2 and that’s the bottom line. But no one is favoring us against another good team. We’re the team that beats the bad ones and loses to the good ones. And we can make the playoffs, that’s cool too. But we certainly will be underdogs.

Haha. This thread is exactly what I thought it would be. It’s hilarious how big of snowflakes some of you are. The same people who hate Deadspin probably love Clay Travis and Will Cain, who do the same exact thing only with conservative views. Im a weirdo but even when I don’t agree with someone’s view, if it’s well stated, I’ll listen. Like Clay Travis and Jason Whitlock? Or do you like them? and I do honestly get that point. Some people to just watch the games. But I feel some of the people who complain about everything being “woke” or SJW would have be complaining about Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier.
