  1. Oh I agree McDaniels is better. Just saying Daboll would be fine with Brady. I think another way to look at this is that there are coaches/ qbs who elevate the talent level around them. I don’t think Daboll is This type of coach and Allen isn’t that type of qb yet.
  2. As I pointed earlier in the thread, Jalen Hurts is a much better player without Daboll. and you don’t understand how the coaching world works by now? Daboll was friends with Polian’s son. If you make the right connections once you get in, you can keep finding work. It’s why terrible coaches keep getting rehired.
  3. I agree with this but people used to say that about Losman. While this staff is certainly conservative, they may also be preventing Allen from single handedly losing games by turning the ball over. its an interesting spot. Develop your qb and see what he has or do what is best for winning.
  4. 1) why are only bad teams hiring him then to be an O.C.? 2) those qbs aren’t great but they had better seasons with other OCs than Daboll. Anderson was a pro bowler one year. 3) I do think we overrate coaching. I don’t doubt Daboll would be better with a more established vet qb. But that’s not what we have here. I never liked the hiring because it felt like such an uninspiring pick. I wanted Kliff Kingsburg.
  5. What was the other team he took to the SB? He went with us and the Colts. And he built a one person team in INdy. I love Marv but I do agree he was overrated.
  6. Polian was very overrated. He inherited Kelly and the number 1 pick. He then got multiple top 5 picks at Carolina and Peyton Manning in Indy. He picked his spots well. and his comments about Lamar Jackson pre draft made him look like a foolish old man.
  7. Yeah, to be fair to be Daboll, he has called plays that Allen has flat out missed. I just think he isn’t the right guy to develop a raw qb. We are forcing JA to play like Brady and that’s just not his game.
  8. Who are on d line was good yesterday? I don’t know why you don’t switch things up and get fresh legs out there. It wasn’t like we were shutting down their run game. Especially on passing situations.
  9. I had doubts about Allen since college. He’s done some good things but what I worry about is how many games has he ever dominated? He really didn’t dominate in college and he really hasn’t done it in the nfl. He has flashes but most first round picks have flat out games where they dominated. as far as star power, we have our secondary but a bunch of nice guys who really aren’t stars. John Brown has been awesome but he’s a compliment to a Star receiver. I worry about Singletary ever truly being the guy.
  10. It blows my mind how fans were ok with him being the guy to mentor a young qb. His nfl resume is terrible and Jalen Hurts, who was supposedly holding him back at Bama, is a 73% passer with 39 total tds to 4 ints. I’m sure he’s a good guy and has a lot of football knowledge. But the guy is a bad O.C. He would be good with Tom Brady.
  11. Oh, he’s a great o linemen. He’s a terrible human. If he wasn’t a football player, he’d be in prison and no one would care. Sorry, I don’t feel sad for RI. I feel sad for the people who didn’t have a fraction of the chances Or resources he had and are rotting somewhere.
  12. John, you’re a good dude and great fan. But it doesn’t make you less of a fan if you disagree with the team or coach occasionally. You don’t have to blindly trust everything the team does. They aren’t infallible. And yeah if you spend big money on a guy who’s sole still is being good against the run and your run defense sucks, he deserves criticism. guy would be the world’s greatest bouncer though.
  13. He shouldn’t even be in the nfl. I’m all for forgiveness but this dude has been scum for his entire life. There are a billion other better people to have a pity party for.
  14. I agree with politicians being jokes but I’d say their jobs are supposed to be more important (much rather be an athlete). but I think people expect too much from athletes. Like they shouldn’t get mad when they get attacked on social media. Or they should be these emotionless robots. As long as athlete isn’t a bad person off the field, I generally don’t care what they say, wear, or do.
  15. Good post. Obviously there’s a fine line between cocky and confidence. In a weird way, I think this is the best thing for Cam. If the Bears get him, they are instantly a SB contender again.
  16. Good post. Star is fine at taking on 2 blockers and doing really nothing after that. That’s his job. It it’s the mindset to sign a one dimensional player to that much money in the first place is the problem. We don’t see it in buffalo but it’s a passing league. I believe teams pass 60% of the time if not higher. So that’s at least 60% of the time Star can’t play.
  17. Agree a 100%. To be a great athlete, you have to be insanely cocky. Self doubt will kill you. I loved EJ but he cared himself with no confidence. I think a little more swagger might have made him a better player as crazy as it seems. I just wish Gardener would stop trying to show off and focus on the game!
  18. I 100% agree Cam dresses like a weirdo. So does Brady and a bunch of athletes. And a bunch of politicians constantly are aggressive in their anger towards the media. I think it’s pathetic where we live in a world where we want a 30 year old football player to be more mature than a 70 year old politician. It’s really bizarre to me. but I respect your opinion. I think a healthy Cam an have a nice rebirth on another team. I guess we’ll see next year.
  19. I generally think Allen is a humble guy but he definitely has flexed after big plays. Rodgers did the title belt thing. Brady screams after tds. It’s a game. Have fun as long as you’re disrespecting someone. but you definitely are a JOhnny Unitas flattop, no facial hair, no excitement type of guy, huh? But I would be boring if we all liked the same thing. I think it would have been awesome to see old videos of Johnny U doing the electric slide after scoring.
  20. You’re my boy AFL but he is right. Sorry, I tell the truth. i will say this. I’m not God so I can’t say if he did it or not (doesn’t look good for him). But it’s kinda disturbing the amount of dudes who wear OJ jerseys to Bills games. I don’t know what type of message they are trying to send.
  21. Thankfully no one in a more important position than nfl qb suffers from this! its weird how some people think athletes should be more mature than politicians and people in more important jobs. I can’t believe the guy who plays a sport for a living where you need to have a ton of confidence might be a little cocky! He was off to a great start last year. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/N/NewtCa00/gamelog/2018/
  22. Yeah, guys who win heismans and MVP aren’t good qbs. Good post!
  23. Kyle the nfl has been invaded by Allen qbs. and cam has been a bit cocky but I think people got overboard hating on him. Rodgers used to celebrate tds. Brady screams at his coaches. Big Ben gets rowdy in bathroom stalls. Jim Kelly was an awful person off the field before social media. But I swear people act like Cam is the devil.
  24. It’s funny that some people use this as proof that Star is not a bad signing. Are his teammates going to say this guy sucks, is completely overpaid, and his farts smell like cat poop? Or McBean going to say we once again completely overrated a Carolina player and could have a guy at 1/5 of the price for the same production? paying one dimensional players a lot of money in today’s nfl is really not smart. And even if Star was awesome and teams couldn’t run the ball against us, all teams have to do is spread the field and he can’t play. Imagine how good this defense could be if we did better than Star and Murphy last off-season. I guarantee guys were signed for a lot less who are far bigger impact players. So let’s just give our bad contracts because we have cap room? and lbs are the rbs of the defense. If the line in front of them is good, they are interchangeable. We have smaller linebackers so it’s imperative that the d line wins at the line of scrimmage. Milano And Edmunds at this point aren’t built to take on o linemen.
  25. Haha, what a random name for a beer! mans as someone who loves beer, it’s almost too much now. I like the old timer at the bar who hates all the new beer and just needs his Bud Heavy.
