Excellent post and I agree with you. Beane is a much better public speaker than Whaley. I think Whaley would have been awesome with McDermott given some of the offensive talent he found.

He’s never been a good nfl OC. Funny that Jalen Hurts was “holding him back” and now looks like a Heisman candidate. i think Daboll knows a lot about football. I don’t dispute that. But I said all along that with a guy like Allen, they settled with Daboll.

Whaley isn’t close to as bad as you make him out to be. Compare this roster with the 2015 one. That was an awesome team.

Dalton is what he is but he would be the second best qb in Bills history. He had a nice career, will get to compete for a job somewhere else, and/ or make a good money being a backup. and McDermott should text him thanks everyday.

I still think minus the qb position (and Tyrod was serviceable), those Whaley were some of the most talented teams of the last 20 years. i think we’re in the exact same place with this team now. If Allen progresses, we’ll be awesome. If not, it will be the same old. Yeah, coach press conferences are a giant waste of time.

That is probably what it would take. I don’t know if McBeane gives up that much. But if you figure those are low 1sts, not a bad deal for one of the best pass rushers in the nfl. I agree that an elite pass rusher would make a very good defense into a great one. It’s the one thing they are missing.

I think the problem would be more English major skills and lack of proofreading! But yes, if the Bills unfortunately lose, the NfL will not take a win away! Even though some think there is a conspiracy against the Bills. The price for Miller would be insanely high.

Yeah, that’s fair but it’s also why preseason predictions and strength of schedule stuff before the season is stupid. I definitely thought Wentz and the Eagles were severely overrated. Still think they have a bunch of talent but they have a trash secondary and this should be a game where Allen makes a lot of plays in the air. but 6-1 is 6-1 even if it is a “soft” 6-1. Bit Philly would be our best W and we would have to severely choke to miss the playoffs. That’s all the matters. It’s a huge game needless to say.

Why do so many people care what the media says? If we win, we’re 6-1. If we lose, we’re 4-2. That’s all that matters.

But you said Lamar will regress with tape. All offseason I heard he was a rb who was playing qb. He has improved as a passer. Why can’t he continue to improve?

I’m really not trying to hate on Allen but I think we win those games with 90% of the starting QBs. It’s not so much a knock on Allen but a reflection of how good our defense is and how easy the schedule has been.

I’m just curious why Allen is the only qb from his class who can improve.

It’s so much harder to tank if the NFL. If you go half speed, you will get injured. Also, guys and coaches are fighting for jobs every game. That said, just do a draft lottery. In our fantasy league (I know it’s a little different haha), but to keep everyone competing until the end, the non playoff teams compete and the “winner” gets the 1st overall pick. So maybe the best non playoff team gets the highest pick?

The Rams have played Carolina, SF, Seattle, and the Saints. Way tougher schedule. i think Goff is much better than he is given credit for. Goff also throws 9 more time a game so more is on his plate. i guess the interesting thing would be what would happen if they switched teams. I don’t see the Bills having a different record. Goff lost a game where his team scored 40 points. i also thought we could do better than Daboll for Allen.

Thanks to Fitz being Fitz as well. Love the dude but he is so predictable. Who thinks Tre is underrated? I think it has been pretty known that he is one of the best cbs in the nfl.
