Because I’m rational and don’t live in pretend land. We have a really good defense. They have a defense that is on a historical level right now so of course, they will get attention. They are in the SB every year so of course they get praised. You act like it’s some conspiracy. When you are in the midst of one of the greatest dynasties in sports history, you are going to get a lot of attention. instead of pretending like they aren’t really good, let’s him we get better and start getting our own attention. You are a great fan but you have to stop with the persecution complex.

Criticism is a lot different than cheap shots. I wasn’t a Tyrod fan but I respect what he did here even if he was limited.

Yeah but the issue is if they aren’t truly elite, you completely handcuff your team for years. I want Allen to show he’s either the guy or clearly isn’t because it sucks to be stuck in the middle.

It’s so weird because he was pretty awesome his second year. I also don’t think Vrabel is helping the development. He also struggles to stay healthy.

Agreed. Mariota isn’t a franchise qb but he is far from a clown. He has an 89 career qb rating (Barkley has a 68 but he is clearly better!). Mariota will probably get a chance to move to another team to compete for a job and make a lot of money being a backup. but I definitely would take Allen over him right now.

I pray you don’t really believe this because it’s insane. He always have been good. That why Belichick paid him a lot of money. Just insane Bills fans didn’t like him because he didn’t smile at the draft. Stop. It’s amazing this inferiority complex some of you have. Gilmore has been always been good and now he’s become great. NE has a slightly better secondary. And our secondary and defense gets plenty of love. You do realize that while we have a very good defense, NE’s is borderline all time great. It’s not made up. I always thought he was a bit overrated when he was here but he will get a job quickly. I think everyone agreed with what he said but it was pretty stupid to put it out in the media.

What do these takes accomplish? He’s a clown? And you are insane if you don’t think he is better than Matt Barkley. But overall, it accomplishes nothing to trade for him.

Who would be good on that team? Fitz was pretty good on TB last year (100 qb rating). Rosen has been in the worst situations in the nfl his first 2 years. Their defense is awful, traded Fitzpatrick, traded their LT, have no receiver talent. It is one of the worst situations in a long time.

How did Allen have a better game than Jackson against Bengals? That’s simply not true. I do agree their schedule has been weak but he has looked pretty good and definitely improved. I actually had Allen and Jackson rated on the same level when they came out. It will be interesting how they both continue to develop.

Interesting question. I think Stafford is good but there’s a ceiling there. Allen is going to have a hard time reaching MS’s numbers but he could have more Ws. The problem with a guy like MS is you are going to pay him a ton money but he isn’t the guy to significantly affect winning consistently. So while I’d love to have a franchise guy, MS is kinda the dividing line between elite and good. But I’d sign up for Allen being MS good right now. But part of the problem is his contract limits them.

Hey, I wish we could do that but it would be insane to trade a former 1st rounder who is 24 for a 5th or lower. Well, that would be dumb. I like those guys but Howard is so much talented than all of them combined. TB is a pretty stupid organization. I could easily see Howard having an Ebron rebirth on another team.

Minnesota is by far the best. Good call. I’m sorry I’m not that excited about 14 points last week. But Philly will be a great test. Jackson’s passing numbers are skewed last year because he played in every game but wasn’t the full time starter. Allen probably still averaged more but there was so narrative that he was a far superior passer. I always argued that they were a lot closer than our fans wanted to admit. And Jackson has taken his game to a level that I wasn’t sure he’d get too. He is definitely in the MVP conversation. Game winning drives is starting to become an awful stat or needs to be adjusted. Like if you suck all game but have a great defense and score a late td isn’t that impressive. Also if you are on a good team and are a good qb, you stomp a team out early so you don’t have to comeback. For example, Brady has 9 game winning drives in the last 6 years and zero this year.

It’s just funny how people let their biases affect how they see things (this is really for you John). Lamar was a better qb in a better conference in college. He had better passing numbers than Allen as a rookie. He has far superior numbers this year, 96 qb rating, 251 passing yards/ game, and 460 yards rushing. He is without a doubt an MVP candidate and yet some posters will still call him a running back playing qb. How is Allen the best? I mean I want him to be but what is the actual evidence? Honest question. What has been Allen’s best game against a good team?

I loved him in the draft. He was breaking out last year before he got hurt. Arians’ offense doesn’t really use TEs and Brate is another good one. I don’t know why the Bucs would trade him when his value is so low but I’d love him here. I think he can still be a star. Also, I’d take Brate too. He’s good.

And this is what I always worried about with Allen. We are just going to keep hearing about raw he is and how he needs a little more time. Ive grown to really like how he carries himself and he has shown some progression in the short game. But he is so inconsistent and I just hope that’s not going to be his whole career.

High pick qb, playing on a team with a great defense, and winning games. Jets fans would just say he wins but ignore the overwhelming evidence that he was along for the ride. He would have “comebacks” but it would beecause he was terrible all game and the defense kept it close. Long way way to go to see that for Allen and I think he is more physically gifted.

Oh yeah for sure. But that shovel pass is the one play most fans could make. Hell screens and slants have been difficult for our qbs to complete over the years.

We scored 14 points. Yup and that’s kinda my point. I forgot the undrafted guy last year from SF who would have monster games last year. Why can’t the highest drafted guy in Bills history? and I get it. We’re winning. I just want to see a complete game from our potential franchise qb.
