Figured it was something less this when he disappeared for a while on social media. I can’t imagine the swing of emotions - you’re pregnant, it’s actually 4!, and now this. You make good points John and I always respect your opinion. I agree that teammates love Allen and he is a good fit here. But sometimes, that stuff isn’t enough. Guys loved Fitz. Losman bought a house in Buffalo and cleaned it up. I hate being jaded but this stuff doesn’t matter if you aren’t good enough. Ive grown to love all the intangible things about Allen but the word potential sucks. All it means is you haven’t done anything yet. With Allen’s skills, he should have dominated his college conference. For as good as he is as a runner, his passing numbers are pretty terrible for his career. I liked what what I saw in the first few games with him taking the short throws. I just want to have a game where the d isn’t dominant and Allen just has to win it. But this team should be competing for the playoffs this year and Allen will get some chances to produce in some big spots. And I will always love the Pegulas, especially you Kim ?. But they have made some very curious decisions. But I’m confident that they will get there and their hearts are in the right place.

Yeah, these stats comparison from 30 years ago are kinda insane. It also is insane how quickly we judge nfl qbs, the hardest position in sports. But given the rules and how much nfl offenses are like college ones, the transition has never been easier. I think 2 years should give you a good idea if someone is the guy or not.

It sucks because Tre White is a great young player. But qb just trumps everything. I need much more of Allen looking like a qb to even get close to thinking this is ok. With our d, Allen is going to have a chance to win a bunch of games. But like with Mitch T, is he just along for the ride or is he driving the train like Mahomes?

I have no idea what way to go. Sometimes I think the Titans suck. Then, they end up being a decent team and I get confused. This is is a coin flip game. I will say the crowd with be half Buffalo fans so that should help big time.

Are people really trying to pretend Mahomes just isn’t awesome? His LT is out too. Great qbs raise up the level of the players around them. Qbs who aren’t good enough get bailed out by excuses like they don’t have enough playmakers around them.

I think what some people think he is could be an absolute animal at OLb where he could rush the passer and rely on his instincts. MLB requires a special skill to diagnosis plays which can delay your aggressiveness. It takes more than a good athlete to be a good MLB. Zach Thomas was undersized but just could read plays and beat o linemen to the point of attack. I think TE had trouble with this as a rookie. Glad to see him making improvements but I still think he could be a 15 sack guy on the outside.

Peyton joined a 1-15 team. Allen joined a team coming off a playoff berth that had the 2nd best defense in the nfl. There were also completely different rules when Manning was a rookie. Not exactly apples to apples. and I don’t think the EJ comparison is as far of as you claim it to be. They both were question for their accuracy coming out. They both have all the physical skills. I love the mindset Allen plays the game with but he’s never been a consistent player on any level. What makes for a true franchise guy is maddeningly levels of consistency. Allen seems like a guy who is going to full of highs and lows. EJ’s comeback against the number 2 ranked defense in Carolina was the best Bills comeback in years. Allen plays the way I wanted EJ to play. He also makes some very bad decisions. I won’t want to take away his aggression but this is some of the concerns some people had about him. What makes Brady so good is he’s pretty much the same player every game.

Yup. It’s the best and worst quality he has. Cam Newton is a result of playing like that. His teammates and fans love him for it but it will take its toll.

Eh, he tried to avoid him and barely made any contact. If the situations was reversed, I’d be furious if that took away a big play. That the whole point of those routes. There are way better examples of pick plays to get mad about than that one. We need to stop trying to blame the refs. We just need to get better.

Dennison had a better year than Daboll last year. He was a total scapegoat for that season.

Oh, I would hate to root for Winston for various reasons. The crazy part is when he’s good Winston, he’s one of the best pure passers in the nfl.

Tyrod did everything better than Barkley as a qb. There is no comparison between TT and Barkley and I wasn’t even a TT fan. if TT was a rb playing qb (wonder if you said the same thing about Lamar ?) than Barkley is a cheerleader playing qb. Ryan Tannehill then, which is their backup haha.
