Thanks for summarizing it. But isn’t he Allen’s qb coach that works with him in the offseason. I mean what else is he supposed to say? i think it would be interesting to hear his criticisms of Allen and things he needs to improve on.
-
I don’t fully agree with everything he said but I think his main point is that McBeane are very good with the media. I do believe the media does play favorites with guys they like. Marrone and Whaley we’re not very media friendly. The media pounced on them as a result. that said, I have no doubt guys love playing for McDermott. I would. But it still is a bottom line business.

I mean it’s way too early to evaluating schedules. But you’re right. We are playing teams that can put points on the board. We need to have a more consistent offense. but at this point, it is a much harder schedule than last year. It is also the road trip Bills schedule possibly ever. That Vegas game will be absolutely insane.

Why try to bash those guys’ families in a thread that has nothing to do with them? And it is great to hear stuff like this. I don’t think anyone has ever doubted how good of a guy McDermott is. At the same time, it is pro football. That stuff doesn’t matter if you don’t win. Losman used to organizing cleaning up Buffalo. Jauron was one of the nicest guys to ever be involved in football and he’s trashed by Bills fans. I do think this is great for rookies and young players. But FAs are going to sign for money and the best chance to win. Still really nice to hear and I love those families as my neighbors. But sadly, scumbags win a lot in pro sports. See Patriots, New England.

Cordy Glenn possibly to be released [Update: Released]

That’s fair. I would argue that with Sammy and Dareus, I think we beat the Jags in the wildcard game. -

Been on top 3 offenses every year since he left, made the playoffs every year, and was their best playoff receiver during a SB run. I wonder if Reid regrets it. as for Glenn, there are too many injuries. Very good player for us but he would have to be super cheap. -

But there are other factors with this. Watkins gets picked up by some of the best offensive teams because he is a threat. Dareus got traded for by a team that almost made the SB. They are now older and not worth what they were. But this happens all the team. for instance, some of the young players on our roster will be given a second deal that would make them way more expensive than they are now. For instance, take Dawkins. He will get a really big payday that years from now he will be either asked to re structure or he will be moved. It’s the way of the nfl when guys make good Money. -

Watkins was the leading receiver in the playoffs for a team that just won the SB. -

I don’t think Glenn speaks. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever heard his voice or a quote from him. -
I would agree with your post 15-20 years ago. But it is a completely different nfl now. It has never been easier to be a qb. Much easier rules that allow for early qb success. More college concepts in then nfl. With the league now, you don’t need 5 years to see if a qb has it. It should be shown pretty early. and for as physically gifted as Allen is, and he is, it’s not like the nfl hasn’t seen guys like him before. It is extremely hard to physically dominate the NFL. Giannis entered the nba at 18 after playing in Greece. Trout started pro ball at 18. For as bad as some try to make Wyoming’s coaching staff, he had the same head coach as Carson Wentz did in college and was 22 years old when he started his pro career. allen has shown he is a NFL qb without a doubt. He also just had the same exact 2nd year as Mitch Tribusky. I think the issue that the Allen skeptics have is everything with him is projection. For all his physical talent, he never really dominated At Wyoming. He obviously has glimpses of that talent but it’s never been consistent. The Newton comparison, at this point, probably aren’t far to Cam. He was a much better qb with a bigger track record of dominance than Allen at similar points in their career. My fear as it’s always been is Allen will continue to tease us with jaw dropping ability but struggle with consistency. I hope I’m wrong but time will tell. I just hope we upgrade the offense enough so we can finally stop making excuses why it’s everyone’s fault but the qb.

We were talking about hockey players and I made a typo with nfl instead of nhl. Just because I smoke you in every argument, you don’t need to follow me around like a weirdo. Typo. I was talking about Casey M on the sabres and meant there are many small, weak guys who thrive in hockey. but in general, cbs and wrs aren’t position where strength is a top priority.

Alec Ogletree as a potential SLB fit
C.Biscuit97 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn’t watch him a ton in New Jersey but he was pretty good for LA and he plays with an edge. I always like the idea of a former big FA playing on a one year price it type deal. It’s a win win for both parties. -
Haha, true. But there are a ton of weak, little guys who thrive in the nhl. And at receiver, they said David Boston killed his career by getting too big. That said, I’ve been all aboard the Claypool train.

For real. Is there anything less meaningful for receivers than bench pressing? Kevin Durant couldn’t bench 185 lbs once. The Sabre’s drafted a guy who couldn’t do a pull up. For certain positions, it’s meaningless. What a great quote to get yourself drafted as an o linemen. Draft smart, nasty pricks and you will get a good oline.

Jaguars to decline DT Marcell Dareus' option
C.Biscuit97 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s fair. If we get Tom Brady with the pick, I will gladly say it was an amazing trade. Successful people aren’t on message board calling people they don’t know losers. and I do well. But I never boo’d another man or person I dont know. It’s weird. -
Would you make a trade for Alshon Jeffery?

Word on the street is he was the source for Josina Anderson talking about the locker room not fully being behind Wentz. -

Jeffrey is done. Even at his best, he was a game time decision every game. we can get younger and cheaper in the draft. -

Eh. We traded him for Wyatt Teller. He significantly improved the Jags run defense. They beat us in the playoffs and made a SB run. Ultimately, he wasn’t worth the money but I think there are much better trades to put your chest about. See McCoy for Kiko or Hughes for Shepard.
