  1. There is not one thing special about DF. He’s slow, can’t catch, and plays small for his size. This would be a Jordan Matthews, Kevin Benjamin, Zay Jones pickup.
  2. It’s hilarious that some people act like being compared to Cam Newton as an insult. Yeah, I’d really hate if Allen dominated the best college conference in football; won a Heisman and national championship; set rookie passing records; won a MVP with Ted Ginn as his number 1 wr; and went to a SB. That would be so insulting!!! Fair post. I do worry that making a guy who never hit 60% passing on any level into a pocket passer is forcing a square peg in a round hole though. But time will tell.
  3. There are some people who think someone is in a nfl front office, they can’t be questioned. There are some great guys who are some knowledgeable. There are some guys who are there because their dad had the right connections. They are certainly “regular” people who can do their job. the flip side of This is media guys aren’t going to get fired over bad picks. These guys make tons of errors. Mike MAyock who is one of the best once had Blaine Gabbert over Cam Newton and Robert Ayers as the best defensive player in his draft. Picks like that would get you fired if you worked in a nfl front office.
  4. The Rudolph thing doesn’t make me feel any better. He has been terrible in a good situation.
  5. I pointed this out before but Mark Sanchez had 5 game winning drives one year. He sucks but because he was with a good defense, he had more chances for comebacks. I have no idea what you’re saying. You are very emotional defending Allen. He plays with a really good defense where he rarely has to score more than 20 points to win a game. That is great for a young qb because it’s not on them to win the game. What Allen does here is a miles times different than Mahomes in his MVP season where he had to score 30+ because his defense sucks. Miami gave up 31 points a game this year. It was an awful, awful, awful situation.
  6. Let me break this down slowly for you: would rather play with the #2 defense that gives up 16 point/ game? Or would you want to play with Miami’s last ranked defense which gave up 31 points/ game? The less points your team allows, the easier it is to win. for instance, if Mahomes didn’t play with a defense That gave up 26/ points a game in 2018, he has 2 rings. He “lost” a game where his offense scored 51 points! Allen has rarely had to win a game where the defense gives up 20 points.
  7. I hate to bring it to people here but Fitz would be Allen out in a fair open competition. Fitz is a very solid nfl qb. But Allen is able to make clutch plays because the defense lets the offense. and Allen very well just be better than Rosen. I just don’t think it’s fair to evaluate Rosen because of the dog ? situations. It’s crazy but Buffalo looks like a fairly decent situation for a qb finally.
  8. You are insanely overvaluing Allen then. This is the problem with evaluating qbs. Very few young qbs can go into a situation and just elevate the team by themselves. We have had a top 3 defense both years Allen has been here. A lot of qbs would have been solid here. Rosen may suck but it’s insane to say so after the situations he was forced in. Allen would look a lot different if he got drafted by Arizona. Our situation isn’t perfect but we have a team carried by a really good defense where a qb doesn’t have to score a lot of points to win games. It’s a good situation for a young qb to grow in. He got a fair shot in Miami??? They traded away their starting LT, had the worst groups of skills players, and a bunch of starting defensive players. It was an awful situation. and I know people like to sell him short but Fitz, a 10 year veteran qb, is like the 20th best qb in the nfl. Fitz is better than the majority of 1st and 2nd year qbs.
  9. I had the same thoughts. He had a very serious incident that was really scary. I think it’s kinda crazy how quick he came back. But this is the nfl and they don’t give a crap about the players’ well being. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/scary-concerning-details-emerge-about-vikings-everson-griffens-mental-state-after-hotel-incident/amp/ honestly, as much as we need a pass rusher, I’d pass on him. He’s about to be 33, played across a great pass rusher, and I don’t want him to have the Bills on his resume if something bad happens in the future. I think we could do better and cheaper.
  10. I was referring to Cousins. But as much as I don’t think isn’t anything special, Diggs did get the ball there a lot and he struggled to be happy. Could be something to think about before we trade a good pick for him.
  11. Yeah, he definitely a solid starting qb but there’s just something about him. I just never got the impression that he is an elite type of qb. That Vikings team is loaded so it’s not out of the question he can win a SB. I just remember last year we played them and they were a trendy SB pick. But then you watch the game and you are like that’s why Washington let him go. He’s like in the Jimmy G, Stafford, Tannehill, Dalton group of solid but not game changer qbs.
  12. Yeah but there’s something off about him. He seems like a giant dork and I think his record is pretty bad in prime time matchups. He’s one of those guys that puts up numbers but no one fears.
  13. Good point about their cap. That would suck as a Falcons fan because he’s turned into a really good player.
  14. Man, that last half of the 2012 season was one of the most dominant stretches I’ve ever seen from a Bills Rb. I believe he was a 1st rounder in every fantasy draft the next year. I definitely was a luxury pick (of course, Lynch was having major issues and that was before we knew what F Jax was). But in turns of talent, he was easily a 1st round pick because he seemed like he could do everything. I think the knock was that he was a great guy but he really struggled to learn the playbook and he may have had a learning disability. I was genuinely shocked he didn’t have a better NFL career.
  15. You think if you were going to correct someone you would actually get it right? Johnson was a 3rd rounder. Prior to JuJu, they got amazing production from Crazy AB (6th round) and Sanders (3rd) in the same draft, Mike Wallace 3rd. I guess the bigger picture is they haven’t spend a 1st rounder on a receiver since Holmes yet they seem to take one almost every year. And Big Rape is great for receivers. Who was a huge bust. They seem to do much better at receivers in the 3rd and later. I’m just curious why Arizona would do that. Also, Johnson looked so slow. but I am down with any moves that gets more playmakers here. And I love Pittman. If he goes to the right team, I think he could have a Metcalf type career.
  16. I don’t see either of their teams letting them go. When healthy, they are top 5 players. Young top 5 guys rarely hit the market.
  17. I loved Van Pelt when he was here but what exactly has done at the nfl level? Wasn’t he just basically Rodgers coffee boy?
  18. Things to run about the draft process: he was considered a very safe pick.
  19. Well you’re generally right but since receiver is such a dependable position, good ones can be found throughout the draft. The Steelers rarely draft a receiver high (I think JuJu is the highest One they have drafted in a long time) yet they always find studs. But that’s again based on other things besides the receivers talent. Like if Diggs got drafted by us, he’s not putting up the same stats. I think Corey Davis is good but got stuck with Mariota. That’s actually a guy I’d explore trading for.
  20. Great point with Thielen. Just like Brady, he’s just passionate. Diggs does it, he’s a problem and a “cancer.” and I don’t question the talent of Diggs but I don’t know if that’s what we need. I certainly take him if the price is right. But we still need a big receiver if we got him.
  21. What a nice guy haha. Makes a lot of sense. I’m actually impressed he got paid that much. It’s Science bro.
  22. This is where I tend to lean too. The homeless guy who coaches them doesn’t care about their long term future. It’s amazing how many coaches get fired after a year yet this guy is entering his 3rd season. He’s terrible and just looking at him depresses me.
  23. But isn’t that the point. I think a lot of the doubters would have felt much better about Allen if he was more of a dominant college player. College production doesn’t guarantee anything but lack of dominance can be a red flag, especially for a real high pick. Clowney had like 3 sacks his last year in college. While he has become a good player, he is hardly a game changer pass rusher.
  24. I want multiple punters.
  25. Not sure about the burbs but there is a real estate boom in Buffalo. if I was an established guy, I’d buy a place near Delaware park.
