  1. This video clip cracks me up. The Finland national team won the World Hockey Championships. The rest of the team is waiting for him and he just goes flop. http://www.vancouversun.com/Video+Finnish+hockey+coach+falls+down+drunk+airport/4797314/story.html
  2. And over the PA you hear.....Matthew Barnaby- 2 minutes for acting like a F'in A-hole and 5 minutes for fighting.
  3. Seems like every once in a while we hear about a sick story like this. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1387311/Tenerife-killer-beheaded-Jennifer-Mills-Westley-lived-sordid-squat.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
  4. Even though it's a bit of a pipe-dream it's been good to see UB and Buffalo out in front leading this campaign. UB2020 left a bitter taste in the mouths of Albany, Stony Brook and Binghamton for trying to branch out on their own and become sort of the "flagship" university of SUNY. Now these other SUNY centers want a piece of UB2020 and the state will probably divy things up evenly and grant some concessions to everybody. They all have UB to thank for starting this initiative and pushing the envelope.
  5. Sure will be interesting to watch him play against Andrew Luck (assuming Maynard is still starting then). I thought Maynard had some great talent when i saw him at UB. He needed some seasoning but maybe now that he's older and has some confidence he will be productive for Cal. Good for him. Kids transfer to different schools all the time. PTR- if UB only gets one win, Warde Manual should fire the guy immediately. Warde has his reputation as an AD tied to that hire. He got an "A" for hiring Gill. Right now this hire is incomplete but looking poor so far.
  6. This would be like if an authentic Duff's opened up in Maryland (where i live). I would definitely be crying tears of joy.
  7. Does Gaga purposely try to make herself look fugly?!? because she looked awful last night, imo. She's talented for sure though. I thought her interaction w/ Scotty was funny.
  8. I agree, it does seem like he's enjoying it. There is something to be said for taking over a team at the bottom when the expectations are as low as you can get. I know there are a handful of UB Bulls alumni around this board and the situation kind of reminds me when Turner Gill was hired. The program sucked...he went 2-10 his first season and took his lumps but they groomed a capable QB and very good RB/WR tandem. The second year they went 5-7 and the third year went 8-6 and won the conference. Yes- this is professional football but i can envision some nice improvement this season and contending for a solid playoff berth the next. These guys (Chan and Buddy) know their football and they absolutely know what type of talent and scheme it takes to win in the NFL.
  9. Great news for the local company and the Bills getting a new field. I thought The Ralph had the worst artificial Turf field in the league. You'd commonly see players from both teams slip while cutting on perfectly dry days. Just seemed like the field was more slippery than other rubberized synthetic turf fields in the NFL. Glad to see the county stepping up and fixing it.
  10. Landry Jones has video game like stats from last year. Not sure what kind of offense they are running at Oklahoma but it's definitely not the wishbone! I've seen Jones in several 2012 mock drafts going to the Bills. It will be interesting to watch him this fall.
  11. Ha, i thought i was the only person who thinks like this. i'm definitely rooting for the Lightning at this point. It pains me that they could possibly win their second cup but the damage is already done (since they already have a recent Cup in their back pocket). I'll deviate a bit and root for San Jose second since Boston hasn't won one in so long.. I don't want beantowners to get another championship and Stanley Cup. San Jose is somewhat harmless for me since they are in the Western Conference and I went to a game in the Shark Tank this year. Vancouver is a definitely NO since they are a twin of the Sabres (born the same year) and i don't want them enjoying a Cup before us.
  12. I really don't think the Bills WANT to move to Toronto and I don't think Toronto necessarily wants the Bills. The folks up there know it's Buffalo's team and they don't even support the games up there very well. I dunno, i just don't see it as a very good NFL market up there.
  13. I agree with you. Also, the law of averages says the Bills have to start trending upwards while the Pats start the other way. It helps that imo, we have a real professional coach and GM now, plus a QB who actually can read a defense and make some plays downfield.. (not to mention a young and up & coming defense). Good things ahead!
  14. I happen to agree and I also like Spiller. I just think he came in and used his college moves thinking it would work in the NFL. It doesn't and he has figured that out. Some RB's don't transition too easily out of college (i.e. Cedric Benson) and once they get it....their talent takes over. I think CJ will be one of those guys.
  15. Awesome. So in year 4 we can expect Spiller to rush for about 1200 yards.
  16. Mendenhall can try to apologize or backtrack all he wants but what he said is how he really thinks. He wasn't just trying to stir up a dialogue imo. I bet a lot of Steelers fans are disgusted with him after this. To me his comments are a disgrace and I'm glad Champion dumped him.
  17. Eh, you still have people all over the place (including this board) who say he should not have been taken till round 2 or later...
  18. I dunno if he was pounding the table but someone surely needed to be fired over that draft pick debacle. Thankfully the time was finally right to get rid of Modrak.
  19. His career will be interesting to follow. Some day maybe Minnesota can shove it in everyone's face if he turns out to be a really good pro.
  20. Good old 6th round draft pick,,,Arthur Moats. I'm sure many publications gave the Bills a low draft grade in 2010 because they reached on a 6th round LB from an FCS school. Gotta give Buddy and his staff a lot of credit on that one.
  21. I thought I'd be really PO'd if the Bills did not draft a QB. Gotta say it doesn't really bother me. I love Fitz and as long as he's healthy he's much better than any rook. As for long term, I also think they can get their guy in the next draft. Lot's of teams that were in the market for a QB took one this year. Some pretty talented QB's are behind Luck. Has anyone seen the numbers on Landry Jones? Jeez, i had no idea they were chucking it around like that at Oklahoma. Are they running a gimmick offense? His numbers last year dwarfed everyone else including Cam and Gabbert. Interesting prospect.
  22. Agreed. When you read the negative writers grades they mainly refer to the fact the Bills did not address a need at QB (to groom). Which is ridiculous b/c you should evaluate a draft on the players the team took, not who they didn't take or a position they bypassed.
  23. Hmmm, certainly not the worst looking we've seen out of the pool of horny female teachers around this country. At some point while she was banging a senior student from the high school she should have realized, hey maybe this is not such a great idea. I mean you have to know your gonna end up on the cheesy local news with your mugshot at some point. It's inevitable.
  24. These draft grades are bogus. The "expert" in the Washington Post gave the Bills one of the lowest grades too (like a C or C-). Basically after reading through them, it seems like NOT drafting a QB slants some writers towards the negative. This might actually be a good season to not have drafted a project QB anyway. If the lockout drifts into the early to mid-summer, the thinking is that rookie QB's will be useless since they will have had no OTA's, mini camp or live study sessions with coaches. Assuming it's a long lockout, It will be easier for defensive players to come in and contribute as rookies over some offensive positions which require more timing and play calling knowledge.
  25. I'd give Tennessee a solid F for Jake Locker. He will be slightly better than John Beck so i hope that's ok with them.
