Hey i’m OK with this. Sean is taking a page from the old saying “if you want to do something right, do it yourself”. Alright Coach, have at it. You’re the man

So are Giants fans saying "ugh, another Bills player" like we used to do about ex-Panthers players?
-
You think about it,,,,the Bills players probably had the mindset of "hey, we're home, nobody is coming into Orchard Park to beat us...the Mafia, table smashing, everybody is juiced up, our weather conditions, neutral site game vs KC on deck, Super Bowl baby! etc.. Cinci has zero chance". Then we defer the coin toss, kick off. Cincinnati starts the game on their 21 yard line and like a hot knife through butter, goes 6 plays for a TD. I think the players were just slapped in the face. They were stunned... and had no idea how to respond to that. Like Taiwan said, everyone was looking around for someone else to make a play. Nothing the Bills did on O or D worked after that opening kick. I just imagine them on the sidelines in shock. Hopefully we never see this again in a playoff game. I'd say it's a good lesson, but we've run out of time for another "lesson" with this group. They shouldn't need one.

Pretty good signing. Just seems like Harris is often injured. Hope he’s OK now and going forward. One thing about motor, he always played. Never got hurt or played through it.

The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team
zow2 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Winning the Super Bowl is about having a good team (obviously), having the ball bounce your way a few times during the season and staying clear of major injuries. It’s also paramount to hit your peak late in the season as the playoffs begin. Buffalo hit their peak after game #2, then willed their way to some stretches of winning while not playing all that well. So i give them props for that. But they prob should have lost to Skylar Thompson Miami who had no trouble moving the ball on us. Then playing a team in Cinci with a solid D scheme, that was the end. -
They won't say it publicly of course, but behind the scenes I'm sure the Sabres are disgusted with themselves. In the biggest moments of the season they have come up incredibly small. When you haven't made the playoffs in a decade and your playoff lives are on the line, to go 2-6-2 in the last 10 is awful. It just shows they are an average team at best. If they get some D and goaltending + penalty kill, they could be right on the cusp and get in. The future looks better with Levi in the mix, but there's no guarantee the goal scoring will maintain their pace next season, so we shall see.

It's backup QB, musical chairs day around the league.

Jets pursuit of Rodgers is fueling bills offseason focus
zow2 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
A team that spends energy focusing on another team is a loser. Buffalo seems to focus alot on Kansas City,, and Yay, they beat them in the regular seasons. Wonderful. Now maybe they will focus on Cincinnati too this offseason. Meanwhile KC doesn't care. They focus on themselves. They even lose to Buffalo and Cinci during the season but they focus on winning playoff games and Super Bowls. -
Per Shefty - Bills “expected to lose” Poyer and Edmunds
zow2 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good luck and see ya to Edmunds and Poyer. As i say about all the guys that leave, the Bills never won the Super Bowl with them anyway. Time to really super charge the offense this fall. -
Not even getting a losers point from these last two hard fought games will likely be the end for Buffalo. Just too hard to leap frog these other teams that seemingly earn points every game.

I just cut the Directv cord yesterday. Been with them for 20+ years but once Sunday Ticket was no longer an option, there's no use for me to keep them. I'm going to save $40/month by bundling my TV with my Fios internet. Same channels that I had with DTV so no changes in what i can view. I guess come this summer i need to figure out how to watch Bills games?,,, if i need to add a YouTube TV subscription or whatever.

I would not give up really important assets for a rental goalie. I doubt there's anyone good available anyway. Half the league is looking for goaltending. But if they can do something that doesn't cost the future, I'd do it. More than any other club, it's critical for the Sabres to get in. Break the drought. Get that monkey off their backs. The East won't be any easier next year, or beyond. Maybe the Sabres suffer more injuries to important guys next season?.. maybe they aren't one of the best offenses in the NHL? You just never know. They are on the cusp of getting in right now. They should do anything reasonably possible. I don't care if they'd get smoked in the 1st round. Just get in! and no one knows how they would play if the make it.
-
Last i checked the Sabres had the 2nd best offense in the league. If they miss the playoffs with that kind of offense, that would be an absolute embarrassment and people should be fired. There's no guarantee that next season they will be scoring at this clip. Don't fall into that trap that thinking next year they will ascend even higher. That's not true. They should have been all in on trading for a goalie this season...even a rental. The time is now.

I need to get George Toma's expertise on my lawn STAT. Grows like crazy in some areas, dry patches and dead grass in others..etc.. He'd probably rip me to shreds like Gordon Ramsey does to sloppy chefs.. but it'd be worth it.
-
I mean, if they stuck that thing downtown and had some retail and entertainment around it, it would be very cool. Out in Orchard Park, eh, it’s nice and all but i’m not blown away.
-
dang. Not ideal but let’s face it, pretty much every team has to fight through injuries to various players. The Sabres have been fortunate to this point. Hopefully Tuch misses only a few games.

Michael Mayer

There's a case to be made that having the true "franchise QB", like the Bills have...make it so you can get away with cutting corners in other areas. Kansas City just proved it. Get the man an O-line, hit on some skill player draft picks and F/A's. Have a good scheme on D where guys can fit in and slow down the opponent. As you stated, in the playoffs against solid offense, you can't stop them...you can only slow them and try to win the game by scoring which Allen can do with the best of them.
-
I'd be fine adding a top flight WR.. if Robinson is available at our pick that would a tough one. It's a lock Bijan would go to Cincinnati at the next slot. They reportedly covet him and that would be a scary offense next season, if it isn't already.
-
Bijan Robinson and Michael Mayer, i think both will be pretty darn good in the NFL. If not those guys, take the best O-lineman or WR available.

Quote from Josh highlighting the Bills' flawed thinking...
zow2 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Where Beane went wrong is thinking one man, a "closer" on defense would make the difference. That was assuming the rest of the D could stop the good teams out there. No one is stopping Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts, etc.. What you have to do is slow them down just enough for your offense to outscore them. Now we have a 34 years old edge rusher, with a bad knee, who is paid a gazillion dollars and eating up the cap. -
Even last season when the Bengals and Rams played, Josh was doing the rounds during Super Bowl week. It was noticeable that he was absent this week. He's obviously really bummed out at how the season ended, as he should be. Hopefully they have a few more years kicking the can and hopefully he will break through.

JuJu went there. Tweet about the holding call in the Super Bowl.

Classless by Ju Ju. But he's all in to that social media stuff so it's on point.
