  1. LOL at all these people thinking this is madden. "Sure we will take him, but only on a vet minimum deal." Pie in the sky high hopes here. He'll get cut for his salary cap figure but he's not signing somewhere for half of what he was making, he will get 14+
  2. American culture doesn't value 2nd or 3rd place in team sports. No one would care about winning the bronze, just as no one cares who loses in the superbowl. Add to that the chance of injury and this idea holds no water.
  3. We need a lot of help on Defense. I could see us changing a LITTLE bit from Beane's usual MO of "sign 3-4 mid-tier players to compete for 2 positions" and instead look for 1-2 actual playmakers if the money is right. But no, I don't see us offering JJ Watt 17M per after he gets cut.
  4. Fansided - isn't that website even less credible than Bleacher Report?
  5. The second you advocated cutting the one productive Dline player we have you lost me. Hughes will no be going anywhere. You cut: 1. John Brown - Dead cap 1.6m; Cap savings 7.9m 2. Vernon Butler - Dead cap 1m; Cap savings 6.8m 3. Quinton Jefferson - Dead cap 1.5m; Cap savings 6.5m 5. Mario Addison - Dead cap 4m; Cap savings 6.1m 6. Lee Smith - Dead cap 0; Cap savings 2.25m I'd ask AJ Klein to restructure too.
  6. If he gets cut I would sign him in a heartbeat. Use the money we save cutting Jefferson, Butler & Addison to pay him and Milano and finish out the Dline with a rookie and a mid-tier player. Our Dline would be Hughes, Oliver, Star, Watt. That's already an upgrade over what we had last year.
  7. Hopefully this sets market expectations for Watson at 3 1st round picks and a QB at a minimum.
  8. To be fair, I read about 2% of the posts and then just inserted my own feeling in the response.
  9. The DL is a wasteland devoid of talent beyond Hughes and Oliver. If we don't draft DL in the 1st I will be bummed.
  10. You're missing the real point. Whenever you read someone criticizing Deshaun just hit the translate button and read the intent behind it "this sucks, we finally have the best QB in the division with little competition, I don't want someone that's as good as Josh or better playing us 2x a year." I don't care about Deshaun Watson, his politics or his feelings either way. I would like him to sign somewhere other than the AFC East. If he signs here, I will hate him as I have hated many others. That is all.
  11. I would encourage you to watch a few Cover 1 videos about Morse. Cheers!
  12. The last person to try the whining move was Leveon Bell. He wound up losing quite a bit of money.
  13. Except he's not really gone is he. He has a contract and no way out of it other than to whine and complain.
  14. I'm upset we're not in the SB, Whaley said something that a) I agree with but; b) I could also use this as an opportunity to take out my frustration on one of the people directly responsible for this team stinking for years. I have chosen to smash the button for option b.
  15. He can ask for as many trades as he'd like. If I'm Caserio I tell him to play out his contract or play out his contract. The hiring of Culley, who I don't think is expected to be some sort of long-term savior, would indicate to me that the Texans are about to start a re-build.
  16. Both lines got thoroughly dominated tonight. I think it's fair to say we overpaid for mediocre FAs on D.
  17. I always shop there when I'm in the states. Bummed that they won't ship to PO boxes, there are a lot of things on the site I'd like to buy.
  18. This is the type of thing that you announce if you're considering trading away your franchise QB. Just sayin'
  19. Could be many things, he could have scurvy that manifested first in his hand and is now hitting his joint, he could have frostibite and is refusing treatement. If you want to get fantastical about it, he could have greyscale and slowly be turning into a statue.
  20. He got that special Patrick Protocol. This is the least surprising news of the day. They'd have wheeled him out there with a neckbrace on and told us it was the safety wave of the future if they had to.
  21. LOL I was just opening up this topic to post this. 3:50 is the timestamp for those of you who just want to hear about the Bills.
  22. I was nervous for the Ravens, this week it's whatever. We win this and we have to feel confident about the SuperBowl.
  23. This was a concussion per this sports doctor and anyone saying it wasn't is being disingenuous. I would also point to the fact that Mahomes is STILL in the protocol per the coach https://www.nfl.com/news/chiefs-coach-andy-reid-says-patrick-mahomes-still-in-concussion-protocol
