  1. For the small chance that he had simply been poorly coached and could develop into a franchise QB. It's hard to argue against that train of thought. If you see a QB with good mobility and who doesn't throw picks you wonder "If we coach him up properly, could he actually develop as a passer?" Once they realized he is what he is, they made the move to replace him. Unfortunately, the guy behind him is simply not ready to be an NFL QB.
  2. This. People wouldn't be nearly as upset right now if we hadn't started out well and given everyone a sliver of hope that we were anything more than a 6-10 team.
  3. Realistically this team has about 10-11 glaring holes. We need a QB, completely new Dline (4), at least 2 LBs and 2-3 OL. Throw in another RB and TE/WR and we can't possibly fix that in one offseason. I just hope we get a QB and at least a starting RG/RT out of the next draft.
  4. @joesixpack I don't disagree with your points there, but those moves are more attributable to Beane than McDermott aren't they? If you're going to evaluate McDermott you need to look at the on-the-field product and it seems like the game is overwhelming him right now. The move from Tyrod to Peterman is clearly an attempt to see if they had a gamer at QB and I give them credit for actually trying to be more than mediocre but I think we can agree that gamble backfired. What concerns me way more than the Offense is the Defense's complete inability to stop anyone 3 games in a row. I dunno how you chalk that up to anything other than poor coaching and scheme.
  5. There's always a chance he's mentally weak and played weak BECAUSE he knew they were trying to get rid of him. What IS clear is that our FO isn't as smart as they think they are.
  6. This is a clear overreaction. This team has some of the worst talent I've ever seen, the right side of the O-line is beyond worse than the bottom of the barrel and we have no D-line at all. McDermott has put together some terrible game plans this season. This team has been on a 3-year plan to win and the FO mismanaged the season when we started winning. Now we're going to have to tank the rest of the season just to keep a top 2 QB in our sights.
  7. No prep needed, they can prep for an easy win
  8. Keep the tank alive and start Peterman from here on out. Tyrod is who we thought he was: a 7-8 win QB
  9. Has anyone seen a worse performance from a QB ever?
  10. David Carr says hi, but yeah I agree to have to get a QB asap.
  11. the question is, do we take a QB THIS year and leave him surrounded by a bunch of no-talent JAGs or do we use our multiple picks to get some actual talent on this team before drafting a QB? I suspect we will have to do the former and use up all our draft picks to move up and get that QB.
  12. Agreed. This team simply has too many glaring holes to fill to be good in short order. We are going to have to trade all that draft capital we acquired for this year in order to pick up a QB. After that, we still need: 2 DTs A real starting MLB OLB CB2 RT RG WR with speed RB to back up and then replace Shady TE with two working knees That shopping list will take another 3 years to fill at the very least IF we hit on all of our picks.
  13. This season is pretty much over. We aren't beating anyone left on our schedule except for the Dolphins. I'd actually welcome Peterman getting a few games under his belt now.
  14. They started him this year instead of starting a rookie. He will not be the starting QB for long. I expect to trade some picks, draft a QB early and start him about mid-way through next season
  15. HAHAHAHA. This team has been in a rebuild and has been overachieving to even get to the record they have now. You think the Bills expected to win now? No. They have been gutting the team since Day 1 and adding a bunch of nobodies to replace Pro-Bowl players. This team will not beat anyone good for the rest of the year, but this really shouldn't surprise anyone because this year was ALWAYS going to be a rebuild.
  16. Student sections tend to be much worse than sitting in the regular crowd. Michigan State was almost as bad.
  17. It's a weak WR class. If he takes a lower-than-what-he-could-get-somewhere-else deal we will probably re-sign him, but I don't see us coughing up a ton of cash for him.
  18. I really want to check this out, but it's Sully and I just can't bring myself to do it. He's poisoned the well with me.
  19. My brother and I are close, so I'd root for his team. Unless that team was the Pats, cause screw them.
  20. I went to a ND v Michigan game in Ann Arbor with a bunch of friends and we sat in the student section because we had friends who went to Michigan. Students threw AAA batteries at us the whole game. I guess that's a thing they do? Got a couple of nicks on my head. Before you even ask - yes I was wearing a ND jersey and no I regret nothing.
  21. I hate the Patriots and their fans, that is all
  22. I'm not saying he's bad. I'm simply saying we were led to believe he was the next great QB and that hasn't been the case.
