  1. Agree completely about Harbaugh. Can't believe him and Tomlin still have jobs. Harbargh is living off his one win so does really that make him a better coach than McD? Have to say looking at those defensive rankings, for three years the Bills had a top 5 defense, but to me doesn't really pass the eyeball test. Did the defense ever really feel like a top 5 unit? To me it didn't, think they were lucky in some games. Even this past year they were ranked 11th, but that had a lot to do with all their turnovers which to me isn't very sustainable. Seem to recall another year the Bills had a large turnover advantage too?? The year they were #1 was the 13 seconds game and gave up what over 30 points to KC. As far as moving on from McD, great! lets do it who you going to hire that will be certain to win the Bills a SB? To me that's the problem, statistically there's a much better chance the team will get worse with another coach simply because when you only lose 3 games all year, it's much easier to do worse than better. If you're the Giants who've won 9 games in the past two seasons, it's easy to say, lets dump the coach as we likely will do better. McVey won a SB, but overall has a worse record than McD so is he the answer? Shanahan? Belichick couldn't win without Brady and have to wonder to how much under the table stuff went on too over the years?
  2. You mention this guy Reid, is he the same guy who in 14 years with the Eagles managed to win only one NFC championship? Sounds like McD is exactly like Reid! You can argue the difference is Reid has Mahomes in KC and we have Allen so McD should also be able to win it all now, but he had a pretty good QB in Philly and a strong overall team, but couldn't win there either so there's alot more to it than just the QB. I think the one difference in KC is the Chiefs had a pretty good team before Mahomes arrived so there was talent around him to start. When Allen came here the cupboard was pretty bare and the Bills tried to quickly put talent around him. That's good short term, but long term not as good as having the talent there first. Add to that you had a brand new first time coach and GM in Buffalo. Veach was a 1st time GM too, but was with the Chiefs a couple years prior and helped starting to build the team, plus worked with Reid in Philly.
  3. How many games will likely be on national TV so can decide whether it's worth it to buy ST or not!
  4. It was this time last year they offered the $100 off, as was right prior to schedule coming out. Probably they figure once schedule is out as you see the Bills or whatever team you're following is on maybe 10 games already, why bother getting it. Haven't tried this in a couple years, but use to be able to spoof IP address and then watch came on local Buffalo CBS station, you did need a Paramount + account, but that was less than $10 a month.
  5. Yes the show was very enjoyable. Missed it when it ended.
  6. Think it's more a case that many of the posters here who's expert evaluation skills can tell after one injury filled season that Coleman is a bust, much faster than any coaches or front office folks can figure it out. I do think one advantage Moore will have over Cooper last year is that he's here already, through all of mini camps, training camp, and pre-season. During the season it's hard to get much real practice time. Wasn't there also something that right after Cooper signed, Allen got dinged up and was barely participating in throwing during the week. Thought I recalled reading that up till around Dec 1st Cooper and Allen only had like maybe 2 practice sessions together. Or am I thinking of a guy they signed mid season the year or two prior?
  7. That's right it was Sal M from the D&C. Think I do recall Sully too.
  8. I remember the round table with Felser and Carucci. There were two others, that were also good. Was one also Van Miller? Did enjoy and missed it when it ended.
  9. Or fall when the 6 game suspension ends for the other two.
  10. 43 year career, wonder if they will replace him or just go with the 3 remaining. https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nfl/bills/article_0dc8ab03-a34b-4fbd-9ca7-60e712f32eb5.html
  11. You got to remember there was no free agency back then so was more worthwhile for a team to draft a decent backup and hang on to him as he couldn't go anywhere. If the Bills drafted someone decent, lets say Sanders, he's hardly going to play and once his contract is up, he's going to bolt for the chance to play elsewhere. Practice time, pre-season, training camp were all longer back then too so the backup had time to actually play and develop. Read someplace that the backup gets about 6 snaps per week with the 1st team so how's a low drafted rookie ever going to get any good on a team like Buffalo? The 3rd string running the scout team has more opportunities. Available QB's are ither going to go to a team where the starter is on shaky ground so they know a couple bad weeks and that guy will be benched and I'll get my shot. Or you have a guy like Mitch who's been around the block a couple times and has come to realization, his destiny is to be a backup. Darnold is maybe an exception, but lets see how this year plays out first too.
  12. True,, but still need to QB who can make the throws.
  13. For what to pay them some amount of signing bonus so they can be cut the end of August. Barring an injury the five listed below are all on the team. Add in two TE's who even though Kincaid didn't live up to expectations last year are still threats that need too be taken seriously and need to be game planned for. Also have RB's that can catch passes and can run the ball behind a very effective O-line. Teams with star QB's don't need star WR's as they QB can make the WR look much better than they really are.
  14. One of the two isn't needed. Right now with not many WR's on the roster and a glut at CB think a better chance they keep Shenault, but if an experienced vet is signed at WR, could see it going the other way too. AJ may may initial 53 then week 6 when suspensions end, he gets traded, or maybe a suspended guy gets traded at that point, though hard to imagine a team trading for someone who just came off a 6 week suspension. Think AJ's future comes down to what they do with the two suspened players, could see one getting cut in Augest too likelt then AJ is safe..
  15. The one thing that surprised me a bit as we didn't take anyone, looking at the roster, the position group that to me is the thinnest is LB
  16. In 2013 the Bills were a bad team so much easier path for a rookie to look good. The only player that will even likely see the field enough to have a chance to win award is Hairston Barring injuries the odds are likely higher that Jackson won't even be active the first few weeks of the season than he wins RofY
  17. 32 teams all passed on him. So he likely signed with a team that he felt had spots on the roster open for him. I'd imagine most players drafted in late rounds 6 and 7 wish they weren't drafted so they could sign with whatever team they have a better shot at making. What are we going to see when camp opens, that he showed up? Maybe in about 3 years we'll see who was right.
  18. Except Milano was actually drafted in the 5th round. Every team in the league passed on Dolac could just mean he's not that good. If the Bills had signed him would have been a nice feel good story, but it ends there. The team is signing who they view as the best players, not listening to what emotional fans think.
  19. That's why this board is filled with supposed experts as everyone here was draft eligible.
  20. I was kind of thinking the same thing. Looking at t heir roster including the two suspended players, they have 12 D lineman likely to make the roster. Usually they will keep 9 or 10 on the roster. The two being suspended may save Jones or someone may need to slip on a banana peel during training camp to create a spot.
  21. Article in the Athletic the other day talks about how Carter may likely end up playing a lot of 1T
  22. That' what's funny. So this thread is generally full of praise and how we got a guy that should have been picked higher. But the thread on our 2nd round pick has about 90% of the responses ripping the pick and the trade how we gave up too much, this guy would have went much lower, etc. All these arm chair GM's must be right about this as it can't be that actual full time GM's have a better sense on when and where in the draft players will actually get selected.
  23. Kind of wonder did Deion ruin his kid? Did his kid really need a HC who would have told him, you're not good enough to play QB in the NFL. But maybe you could make it as a DB or WR. But with daddy as the coach he lets him play QB and it just ruined him. Recall Jim Kelly wanted to go to Penn State, Papa Joe said love to have you but to play LB. Now in that case Papa Joe was wrong, but if it was Papa Je's kid, maybe he'd have let him have his way.
  24. Don't recall this, just read it in an article today that apparently one of the knocks on Tre White was also poor tackling. He turned out pretty well in that area.
  25. Recall too how in the first half the Dolphins ran the ball a lot and well, but once the game got close and Bills took lead, all Marino started doing was throwing and they went downhill from there. The game at that point was still close enough that they could have still ran quite a bit too. That was why I was never too keen on Marino as he tended to try and play hero ball too often. PS The fact that this post started last Friday and is still on first page tells me the number of posters here today that were around and followed the team that long ago, 33 years, must not be very big!
