  1. If they had cut him now would the cap hit have been the full $10 mil this year? But they do get to take the full $10M saving this year?
  2. I'll be surprised if that happens considering the overall cap position they are in. My bet is an extension with void years. Initially I thought they may cut Morse and give the job to Bates, but that's not happening now. We shall see!
  3. OK so we're not getting a 3rd because we lost a 1st rounder in Edmunds, it's completely because of the contract he signed with Bears?
  4. So you're going to pay him $11 mil this year? When exactly did he have his last concussion? Believe he's been 2 seasons without one.
  5. OK so it's more about the salary than what round the player the team lost was drafted in?
  6. So I know the Bills are expected to get a comp pick for Edmunds in the 3rd. I see there are comp picks in all the other lower rounds too at the way down to the 7th. Wondering what does a team have to lose to only get say a 6th or 7th round comp pick? The water boy?? Chain gang? And I assume the Bills have no shot at any of those??
  7. Think last year at this time, most posters here were expecting the worst, but after draft everyone was saying how roster was better overall.
  8. Worse that could happen is he gets a splinter in his a**
  9. Well they say it's a weak draft in lower rounds due to all the guys staying for NIL money. But these extra picks are worth hardly anything to move up. Looking at a draft chart if they took their now 3 picks in 5th plus their 3 picks in 6th, they could move up from 28 to around 22. In the 2nd round could move them up about 13 picks. I could see them packaging a number of these fifths or sixths and move up to bottom of round prior, maybe get and extra 4th
  10. There always seems to be a direct correlation between the dumbest posts and the number of posts made by the person.
  11. Agree as I stated initially, there's more to this story than just condemning him too.
  12. And you're just assuming he's guilty. Sounds like there's a lot more to this story than typical assault on a woman. Easy to for her to use his reputation against him too. Normally I wouldn't defend him but as someone else pointed out a tic Tok influencer bringing a lawsuit sounds a bit too convenient
  13. Kind of funny that Schefter questioned Carton’s motive and then turns around and does the same thing except playing the opposite side of the story that it didn't happen. And that’s what qualifies as a report; you can just go say whatever you want, and it gets clicks, and people care about it
  14. It kind of happened a few years back Cleveland traded to Houston their QB along with his massive contract plus draft picks so Texans would take the contract. Then if I remember right they cut him. But the contract has to be written in such a way to do that without taking a big cap hit.
  15. Based on how he played, that may be a reach. Got a better chance sponsoring a competing product: "I should have used the other one, then I'd still be starting!"
  16. Agree, I'd cut him if I could. But he has to pass a physical by March 11th, then the Bills have leverage and can cut him or convince him it's in his best interest to take a big cut. But if he can't pass then no reason for White to do anything, but sit back and collect the money the Bills are required to pay him.
  17. Never happen. Players typically take injury settlements when they were placed on IR, but have now fully recovered and can then get money from the team giving them the settlement, and then basically double dip and sign with another team. In White's case there is effectively no IR list in the off season and he wouldn't be ready to play right now anyway. For those reasons, can't see the injury settlement coming into play here unless he's still not ready to go in Sept, but was healthy by say November and won't happen till then either.
  18. Because until he can pass a physical he can't be cut. So come March 11th or whatever the exact day is, all his bonuses kick in and the Bills are on the hook for that, but they also can't cut him as I stated unless he can a pass a physical which is not likely. So why would White agree to a pay cut unless he's somehow rewarded? The Bills can cut him later on, but by then they would have had to have cut a couple other players to get under the cap in March. And for White he then got the money from the Bills in March and can then sign later on with another team. So put all these things together, I'd say White can dictate terms pretty well.
  19. OK smart guy, tell me this, will Tre White pass a physical by the first day of the new "NFL financial season" which starts in March? Do you know that? Because if he can't pass it they can't cut him. So then it very quickly becomes a choice of we have to pay him most of the money anyway so even if he's limited, in the long run is it better to keep him as we'll need to pay him a ton sometime later to cut him as after March he's now guaranteed a bunch of money, plus then paying additional money to whomever replaces him. So are they really even saving anything. As for Hamlin, he's is on a very cheap rookie contract, so again where do you think you'll find someone cheaper and even better as the 4th or 5th safety?
  20. But that's exactly what could have happened if the 49's had kicked off. The only guaranteed walk off is the 3rd possession which the team that took the ball first in OT gets. Not saying I agree with them taking the ball for other reasons, but the walk off argument just isn't one of them.
  21. Exactly, too many posters here are way too easily slighted by everything not pro Bills.
  22. He seemed to have run a rather complicated scheme then over the years other teams figured it out, so Rex made changes, but then was to the level was too hard for players to think quick enough and react. Probably would work good in Madden on computer simulation.
  23. Well if that's his biggest issue, don't see that as a problem in the NFL. Could also be why he's leaving college as that was the one part of his job he hated and didn't want to be bothered with much.
  24. Read an article today how Baltimore lost their DC to head coaching job, then an defensive assistant to a DC job. I'm surprised they didn't promote one of their own earlier to avoid this. From Athletic article: The Ravens’ offseason is not even a week old yet and their vaunted defense has already lost its defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald (head coach of the Seattle Seahawks), assistant head coach/defensive line coach in Weaver (defensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins) and defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson (defensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans) The Ravens are currently paying the price of that success.
