  1. Because Bills fans look around and see all the failures every single season of new coaches brought in. Granted these other teams don't have Allen at QB so understand that does make a difference, but there's much more room to go down than up. Are they going to bring in a re-tread or some up and coming assistant? Both have risks, the re-tread probably has more risk, he be the next Andy Reid or the next Doug Pederson who has a SB win on his resume and had a good QB in Jax. Or they bring in a new guy, could be the next Greg Williams. Most coaches all have their own scheme that they want to play and often the players on the team don't fit that scheme so needs to be wholesale changes on at least one side of the ball. That's easier to do when in a rebuild mode as you probably aren't close to the cap and often have one or two star players that you can trade away for more draft picks. A team like the Bills doesn't have that so you better hope the next coach that comes in says I can win with this roster make up which would be rare to find. Tomlin and Harbaugh have coached longer with their teams but since McD came to town have done worse overall. Do they get a pass because they won one SB 17 and 12 years ago? Since 2012 the year they won the SB Harbaugh has only one one division round playoff game and that was when he was the #1 overall seed. His only other wins were in the wild card but he's still coaching. It's not easy to find a better coach
  2. How is this different than what was announced last week?
  3. Really?? Lets say they lose a couple more regular season games and end up as the 6th or 7th seed. Those seeds rarely make it past the first round. Look at the Steelers records in the last nine times they've made the playoffs, 7 of those 9 seasons, they got knocked out in first game played and a good reason for those loses was because they were a low seed playing on the road. I agree the defense needs improvement and can McD get us there I'll agree I don't know. But I also know there's much more rom for getting worse both in regular season and in playoffs
  4. Well first you have to win in the regular season before worrying about KC in the playoffs. Lets say a new coach loses 2 more games and was the 6th or 7th seed. How many 6 or 7 seeds win the SB or even make it past the first round?
  5. Because there's a very high probability that if a new coach comes in, the team will get worse, maybe not irrelevant, but worse. The new coach of the Jets or Jax could come in and win 5 more games than last year. That won't happen in Buffalo, extremely unlikely he'd win 4 more or even 3 more as only been done twice in think I read last 50 years to go 16-1. There's many more opportunities to get worse compared to improved. Sorry but statistically that's just the reality of it.
  6. Here's a challenge to someone with good IT skills, or maybe these days AI skills Take that commercial for Progressive Ins. where the kid asks what is the economy and change it to what is the salary cap. The rest of the script would all be valid. The trouble teams get into with creating void years and moving to the back end is the team signs a guy who they think will be their savior but it doesn't work out short term(see Aaron Rodgers) or in the case of the Bills didn't they sign Trent Edwards to an extension or was it Losman or Johnson I'm remembering?? The team kind of knows eventually you're going to be bad once your star or stars retire, but you do if that point is a long ways out in the future. You also do it when you feel you're one or two stars away, see Diggs and Miller. The Bills took their lumps early enough with Diggs and probably will this year with Miller. The trouble is often instead of this being a future issue all of a sudden it's an issue next season.
  7. Yes; 2 vets + 2 rookies = 4 with a downgrade in overall play. If you think having two rookies as your backups will improve play overall, I got a bridge to sell you too! If you want to put these guys on the PS, then you better not draft them higher than the 6th round else they will be grabbed up by another team and the Bills will then have 2 + 0 = 2 But the good news is their interior D line would likely be better around the 2027 season if they follow your strategy. I will grant you that.
  8. Yeah I understand BPA, but do you understand roster numbers? Do you actually think having 3 rookie D lineman will make the team better in 2025?? Sounds like Tasker doesn't understand it anymore than you do! Make he got hit in the head one to many times.
  9. I read something online today that Josh gave the all time best MVP acceptance speech and this was from a national writer, not someone with ties to western NY
  10. Good point, hadn't thought about that! But he's worth every penny!
  11. Way back when (think it was the 1990's) the NFL use to start Labor Day weekend The fact that they abandoned Labor Day weekend tells me the NFL doesn't agree with the idea of that being a good weekend to start. From what I've read their plan is to move the SB to Presidents weekend. I'd guess they go with Presidents day weekend for SB rather than starting the season Labor day weekend. Add to that College football has kind of taken that weekend over now too. Guess the Daytona 500 and NBA All-Star game will need to find new dates!
  12. This healthy scratch argument is way over blown! He was a scratch because he didn't play ST. CB's play most of the game unless they get hurt, so need the backups for ST's play. When the starter did get hurt, who was brought in, Elam!
  13. So time for Elam to get tagged!! When the go to 18 games and SB gets bumped back a week, I wonder will everything else also bump back a week? I'd guess yes? Something to note the 2026 and 2027 Super Bowls have specific dates assigned, for 2028, it lists date TBD! Does that mean something??
  14. Yeah I agree overall, the injuries hurt. A healthy White and Benford would have been very good pair and would have a few years left together. Likely would have made Poyer and Hyde look better overall too. Add to that we'd have had another 3rd round pick as wouldn't have made the trade for Douglas.
  15. Was White and Wallace really better than Benford and Douglas in 2023?? This past year 2024 admittedly Douglas dropped off some. Do agree that a healthily White and Benford would have been the best combo
  16. So the 4 names highlighted below very likely aren't going anywhere and good chance AJ is also back. That leaves 4 or 5 roster spots open and you want 2 rookie DT's and a rookie at Edge. That leaves only one to two spots left for any vet presence and you think having 3 rookies will improve things this coming season? When people start posting about using multiple draft picks on the same position, you have to look at how the roster will end up looking. You can do that with sixth or seventh rounders as good chance you can hide one of them on the PS, but anything above the 6th round would likely get grabbed up. You need to have open spots that will improve the team. Does the line need help, absolutely, but the idea of using multiple high picks on the same position is silly unless you're in the rebuild mode. DL is a position that often takes time to get good. It even took Bruce Smith a few years, great pass rusher from the start, but took a few seasons to get good against the run. For these reasons with a team as close as the Bills are, I think they need more high level vets on the DL than rookies. On the other hand CB is a spot you can put a rookie on the field and they often will be fine.
  17. Don't let facts get in the way of a good argument!! Did it stop the Germans from invading Pearl Harbor?
  18. Kind of funny, towards the end of commercial, Allen made a pass into the endzone, looked like the same identical pass he made to Coleman where he scrambled right and threw to left corner of end zone.
  19. Johnny Unitas was certainly one of the best QB's of his time, but to see him at #1 makes me have to question if the criteria has changed a lot since then?? The rest of the names a the top are what I'd call more modern day QB's.
  20. I've actually started watching more NBA of late. What does drive me crazy in both NBA and even worse in college is they stop play to review the clock, it takes 10 minutes to figure it out and add an entire .4 seconds to the clock. To me college basketball has become unwatchable between the one and done's leaves you with hardly any idea on who is on what teams and for the most part these college kids can't shoot worth anything. In the NBA if you leave a player open from 10 feet, most of the time they will make the open shot, but not in college anymore.
  21. Reading the latest article on KC getting all the calls and the NFL denying it, but as this article stated, it's a problem for the NFL as that is the overall perception of things and the league needs to erase that. Got me thinking, is this an NFL problem or is it the same in all sports? I'm guessing it's much worse in the NFL only because only 16 games are played and playoffs are all one and done's as opposed to best 4 of 7 so impact of calls is rarely felt as much??
  22. I've always said it's too easy to get elected tot he football HOA and too hard to get elected to t he baseball HOA. I didn't read all the exact criteria changes, but overall less elected every year isn't necessarily a bad thing IMO.
  23. Reading a quote, major upset, stunning were words used. Guess I'm wondering how anyone can say that when throughout the last 10 weeks or so of the season Allen was favored to win the award. Yes it did get much closer at the end of the season, but Allen was still ahead. The same article also mentioned how in 2023 Allen had better stats, that Lamar, but didn't win it. So why would it then be shocking that Allen won this year? Jackson sould have won it this year, was very close, but can't see how anyone can be shocked by results. In a major upset, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named the 2024 NFL MVP in a historically rare victory Thursday night
  24. I thought one of the Buffalo News writers was a voter? Unless I missed it, don't see anyone listed though do see Vic Carruci is a voter. Looks like Allen did get good support from the NFL Network crew
  25. I kind of wondered the same thing as throughout the night no sightings of Jackson. To me that was a hint that Allan won the award. Is there some site that lists the voting results, by person??
