Incognito Not a Fan of Goodell and Wells
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was this a quote by Roger about the NFLPA?? If not just as easily could have been! I think it will be very interesting to see when the next CBA is up for negotiation, how hard the players push to have this changed, and how far will they go to get it changed. I mean if everything else is agreed upon other than this, say big increases in the cap, better medical, etc, but little change in the entire discipline punishment area, in the end will the players accept it? Or will they go the mats on this one. My suspicion is the extent of the changes the owners will agree to is that Roger is no longer judge, jury and executioner. Maybe he takes on more of a DA role?? "He has so much power and he hires independent investigators who come in and are obviously not independent. They come in with an agenda and they come in looking to find facts to back up their argument. All the facts are slanted in their favor. -
Is it time for Plan Z at QB
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's the opposite. Now everyone is a franchise QB until they play the college season. By Feb they are down to around 3 or 4, by draft day, well........ see Geno Smith -
Is it time for Plan Z at QB
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems every year, there's always talk how next years QB class will be great. Then these guys go out and play the college season and everyone realizes that half of them also suck. At the same time there will be a handful of teams who appear to be set at QB, but by the end of the season realize they need to start over at QB. What if Bradford has a season ending injury, considering his history would Philly give him another year. Chicago could be looking, SF, Az with another injury to Palmer, If Eli throws another 20 int will the Giants be looking, Washington, Jets, Cleveland, Jax, Texans, Raiders. Not saying the Bills won't be looking next year, but this whole idea that next year will a deep QB class with few buyers is completely absurd. -
Rex names the starting left side of the OL

Saw Richie I commented that John Miller is a tough kid. Glad to her that, else the option may have been for Richie to toughen him up. We all know how that went the last time it was tried! -
ReaLly, Can you give some examples to back that up? GM's typcially last quite awhile and really can't recall any getting fired over having an issue with one position. Granted it is most important, but if he's making good moves everywhere else, he's not going anywhere, He's tried plenty, have they worked out very well so far, probably not too well, but if finding a QB was as easy as you make it sound, every team would have good ones.

Carpenter, Leo, Mario on NFI to start camp
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
35 replies so far and no one has ripped the Bills yet for not disclosing the injury. I guess we're becoming a more mature fan base?? I heard he has whatever Glenn had last year BTW -
5 Bills RBs, 4 Spots Available?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to RyanTalbotBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's possible they could try and show case Brown in pre-season to try and raise up some trade value in him. Even if only gets a6th or 7th rounder, still worth something. -
Shady trade will really set this team back
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to enlightener's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe or could just as easily have been he is just average to slightly better, doesn't get the big pay day because he's just not that good. So would have saved money and had a crappy player in return. The OP called him a "Fan favorite" which guess means we shouldn't have traded him for that reason?? Kiko had a great September, after that was average. -
So then no Mario Williams on the team, cross out Clay, Harvins, Graham, Gray, Dixon, Felton, Rambo to name a few. Did we even draft Kyle Wiliams and Bradham?? Without FA not sure even some of the trades would have happened either as often were dependednt on another team signing another player which made the first one expendable, so maybe no McCoy, Hughes, seems like there's another trade I'm forgetting. Likely too if the team does look better this seaosn, we'll be more in the mix of signing better FA's too in the future if we choose to.

Just hope he doesn't have to drive here!

Well it's also a great chance for ABC to promote their fall schedule of new shows.

Somehow the ESPY's being on ABC just doesn't sound right! first time for that.

This is likely going to be a rather unpopular comment and likely I'll be ripped 100 ways to Sunday, but if the courts don't find the person guilty whether it be a player, coach, or whomever, why should the NFL have the right to step in. Here's my suggestion for NFL discipline. Any player or coach that does anything wrong or gets in trouble for any reason, can have their contract immediately voided by the team. They are now no longer getting paid. Lets see how many teams would cut the guy, and how quickly the line forms from other teams wanting to sign him. If players jerseys no longer had names and numbers on them so no one knew who anyone even was, rosters aren't released so no one knows who they are watching, would this matter anymore? Or would you still be watching the game and hoping that the team you are rooting for outscores the other team. We are watching football not choir practice. I watch movies and TV where people get killed, that doesn't mean I'm endorsing killing. Should we boycott the actors who play there roles too?

Future Power Rankings (next 3 seasons)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can just as easily argue the opposite. If you have a top rated QB, you're going to devote a much larger part of your salary cap for qb, thus not having enough money left to sign other players and you will lose players to FA. Will be interesting to see what happens in Seattle. If R Wilson gets even close to what he wants, there won't be enough money left for others and Wilson is not elite enough to carry the team either. -

I'm not very confident that will work though if you've previously had DTV at that same address. Obviously then you can get it. My take on it is DTV doesn't really care, they'll give it to you, and as long as you tell them no I can't receive it, they are happy and will be glad to take your money. But if you've had it prior at the same address or even if a prior owner of same address had it, they likely will say no because if they allow you to have it then they are knowingly breaking the law as opposed to you breaking the law by lying to them about whether you can receive it or not. -

Well that's the good part, come July 16th my contract ends, so I'm free to dump them. So I am in a good position to get a good deal, -

NFL.com interview with Richie Incognito
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Often guys are out injured almost as long. I'd be more worried if he was a LB or DB, or some position that relied more on speed. OL is more technique and I think you're less likely to forget that.
