  1. I'll give it 60/40 he makes it, but I wouldn't be shocked if he were cut, maybe a bit surprised if he were, but barring multiple injuries I'd be more shocked if he is a significant contributor for the season. Conversely come mid season if there are multiple mid-term injuries at some other position and RB's are all healthy, he may get cut then as a result of needing the roster spot. Based on last season, unless he was also playing hurt, just can't see him contributing much.
  2. This really has nothing to do specific with the Bill's, if he's looking to sign anywhere, his comments weren't the smartest, but raely do we speak about athletes and smarts to begin with. since he did play last season for the Bill's the bar does get raised here a bit higher. His comments likely will further erode teams interests in him which bodes well for Buffalo as it may tend to lower the offers a bit from Buffalo and others too.
  3. No not Garza, think the name was something like LaPinta???
  4. What about centers? Not sure if the guy from Chicago over signed, but thought he could also play guard?
  5. He drafted three OL last season, to date only one has worked out pretty well. But want to see how all of the players look under different set of coaches. I think alot of their issues was due to the coaching staff more than the players, will find out soon. As to QB, easier said then done to find a great one or even a good one. Overall I gave hi ma B, but if it turns out the line plays wel lthis year with the same basic cast, I'd change grade to an A
  6. So what would you suggest he do differently? Do a better job of finding a QB?? If it were that easy there wouldn't be about half the teams in the league looking for a QB. He drafted a guy in the 1st round, so far hasn't looked too good, but again there are many more failures than successes. He may never find a good QB and if so, he's be about average for a GM. Was Poliean a genius to figure out he should have drafted Peyton Manning.
  7. Why would they sign one guy, trade for another guy, talk about extending the guy you traded for, plus keep saying how good EJ is looking; to then draft someone in Round 2? Yes I do agree taking someone in round 2 would be given a good shot to start, that's why I doubt it happens. Considering it's a weak QB class, I'd be highly shocked to see them draft a QB unless it's round 6 or 7. Unless you take someone in a late round, likely if there's someone out there good enough to draft in round 2, then move to practice squad, someone else will grab him so that's not an option. Drafting a QB early means you're dumping one if not two of the guys currently on the roster and don't see that happening.
  8. I still don't buy the entire Polian to much lifting thing. There's got to be more to that whole story IMO. I think he tried to get ahead of himself, rumored to bringing in AJ Smith, etc, where TP told him, hold on, I just asked you to come in and consult. I also wonder if Whaley's comments means a restructure is very close??
  9. Even through X-box, I believe you're still getting the streaming ST package which to legally qualify, you have to not be able to get ST via DTV. I had the streaming package one year, think it was the first year it was available, maybe it's improved since, but at the time wasn't overly impressed. Signal quality wasn't the best, couldn't pause rewind, etc. The "buttons" were there on the screen, but pressing them did nothing. It may have been they had hoped to have this functionality working, but didn't get there in time. Maybe by now is working. You couldn't watch 4 games at once in full screen so you'd end up with about a 2" sized screen for each game. To qualify for the streaming package, they asked you three questions (at least at that time) Do you currently have DTV? Can you get DTV? Have you ever had DTV at this address? I think they do look up the address to determine if there was ever a DTV subscription at the address you are giving, If there was even through a prior owner, you're probably out of luck. Likewsie pretty easy for them to know if you currently have it. Can you get DTV, well that's an easy one to get around as get is a somewhat subjective term.
  10. Not exactly living up to your name!!
  11. Was there some recent article that stated this as fact or at a minimum supported this theory, or is this just more speculation based on the original speculation?
  12. Between expansion fees and wouldn't he also get a a boat load of money for someone "invading his turf", he may figure a football team in Toronto is doomed to fail long term, so he'll be ahead of the game with the upfront money. While there's a ton of people up there, unless they start playing football on skates, it's not going to be that big a draw, plus you have the CFL on top of it. Maybe it wouldn't fail but he may figure the upfront cash he'll get will exceed lost revenue from people up there no longer coming to Buffalo. It's possible he's just saying that to be politically correct, but knows, there's not enough interest up there, again due to the CFL and hockey
  13. Wouldn't thought Yoloin would have fell for it. He's been around long enough, he should know better.
  14. Easter is late that year, so still a few weeks till Carnival time.
  15. Love it then goodbye DTV, cut the cable and save $50 a month. I'd go for it. Two things keep me in "plugged in" sports stations like ESPN and ST. This new thing, Sling TV is a way for $20 a month to get streaming ESPN without a cable connection. Only thing left to keep me from cutting the cord completely would be ST. If the Bills start doing well, more national games, less need for ST then too. A friend of mine who's a Steeler's fan gave it as the year prior 11 out of 16 of their games were on some form of network TV
  16. I'm thinking JR was just trying to humor the OP!!
  17. Will Michael Sam attend or is he too busy dancing?
  18. Question here to ask. Often when players are franchised, they don't sign the tag, refuse to report to all offseason activities, camp, pre-season and often only report by the week 10 deadline. In the case of Clay with the transition tag, if Miami had matched the contract, would Clay have then been considered under contract and be obligated to attend all these functions, or be at risk to being fined?? Could it have been Clay to Miami, "I want out, if you match the offer, I won't report and will be a malcontent"? Could that be why Miami quickly declined to match as they knew it wasn't going to end well, so wanted to move on to other potential signings
  19. Anyone know if the O-line coach of the Bills' was already with the Bears whe nChriss Williams played there? If so could be that the coach is stating I know how to use him and make him look good. Or did that coach come in and get rid of him, if so doesn't bode well for him here then
  20. But that's just throwing away draft picks. You have four starters from last year plus Richie. Backups of Kujo, Richardson, Urbik. That's eight so room for one more player to make roster, assuming they cut Williams. You binr in more than one in the draft and likely someone else is getting cut. Until you know one of these rookies for certain isn't going to work out, should keep them. If you keep drafting players, and trhen the next year draft his replacement, you'll never get ahead.
  21. I think we still sign a guard in FA, draft LB or safety first
  22. Is that good or would it be better to not be able to re-negotiate over the first two years as that would also prevent Miami from doing anything, thus assuring they are stuck with this large cap hit for two season?
  23. I wonder if the Bills went to Urbik and Williams and told them who ever gives us the best offer first, we'll go with, the other one, no promises as to what happens??
  24. Could be that Clay is telling Miami, you want to get a long term contract, first remove the tag so I can gauge my true worth, then we'll talk. But Miami knows once they do that, they will price themselves out of the market very quickly, so instead are keeping the tag on, and are offering a somewhat low long term contract, but Clays isn't biting on it, not since he knows the Bills at some point are going to offer him more. Maybe other teams wouldn't want to play that much as he's not atypical TE, but in Romans offense he's a perfect match so the Bills are willing to pay more than many others are willing.
  25. Think it's going to be the center for the Bears, can't recall the name, but he's been mentioned a couple of times??
