  1. I'd argue he does provide good depth only in that he can fill both spots in a pinch. Likely every game he will be active due to his special teams play. If some week two WR go down, he can play some snaps that game as a WR as opposed to having to keep another player active who may never play for the game if everyone stays healthy. Is he going to make a difference asa WR probably not, but not likely that the othe guy you may have activated in additon would have made much of a difference either. In that respect I think he is a valuable asset as fills two spots to some degree.
  2. Would tend to doubt it as no deal announced involving the Bill's. Here we are five hours in other than Felton, nothing happening so doesn't appear they were too far along. We were to busy making trades and re-signing Hughes.
  3. Unless you're in a zero state income tax state, difference may only be a couple percent. I moved from NY to NC, amount of state taxes taken out each week was almost identical. Real estate taxes, now that's a different story.
  4. How do you know we even tried?? And I say that in a good way as think he's likely not worth what he's getting.
  5. Sure, Except there's no way you're moving from 19 to say 2 or 3 with next years 1st and a couple of draft picks. Maybe all our picks this year and next would do it. Now my next question is, why would you want to? There are no great QB prospects this year. There are two quys who warrant 1st round picks, but have more questions than any top QB pick has had in years. So have to agree with the others. only reason I could see a person suggesting this is drug!
  6. I have an idea, let's cut Fred Jackson! no one will even notice.
  7. Four in the morning at the mall, he must have thought it was Black Friday and he wanted to be the first in line to get the new X-Box!
  8. Giants wouldn't be a bad choice for him as they have a decnet line, so less chance of him being labeled a bust and cut in two seasons or so.
  9. He drafted three lineman last year and signed one FA, how is that not addressing it?
  10. He's not being watched, he's just been given different marching orders. Under Littman he was under a very limited budget, now being told, Damm the dollars. Even if Littman had stuck around likely would have been fine too, though he may have had a nervous breakdown signing the checks. Same with Russ too, he's been blamed for all the bad ill's of the past ten years, but in reality it was RW's marching orders. I've often wondered over the past two years when RW supposedly handed RB the keys to the place. Did RB have complete control to do anything he wants as long as he didn't spend a dime more than Littman told him to, or was he allowed to tell Littman where to set the budget at. Based on financial decisions of the past two years. I'm guessing Littman was still the one handing out the allowances for RW. How can that possibly be his fault?? That was the faulty of the GM and scouts to want to sign those players. If anything Overdolf likely due to limited funds got the contracts signed for less money than was being asked for. If Overdolf had an unlimited checkbook, those same players mentioned would have got even more money
  11. So any rumors of teams that Hughes is talking with?? Hearing all these other teams are ready to sign other players, anything similar here?? If not could mean a deal is very close??
  12. True, but that part to me that's somewhat misleading is it tends to imply he had a long productive career prior to Marrone when in reality, he had one very good season.
  13. I don't know, I'd doubt there would be a statement made like that without knowing a good likelihood this may happen As the saying goes, where there's smoke, there's fire!
  14. The Bill's can't do anything until Tuesday Or the other side is, make your big planned moves first, then you know where you stand money wise as likely. Or even decide if there's another "no strings attached" TE out there. If nobody else works out, you've got the big signings completed, now you can tie up $10 mil for a week or so until the Fin's respond. Most teams usually wait out the full time available to keep the other team from knowing exactly where they stand money wise. Unless the Fins need the money elsewhere more quickly I suppose?? Maybe the Bill's also figure we could always cut Ubrik and Williams sooner than planned if money gets tight while waiting out the Fish
  15. So the transition tag just gives the Fish the option to match whatever offers he may get elsewhere correct?? Not picks or anything involved? I't still a pain though as you have money tied up for what is it 7 to 10 days they have to match? Not sure if it's worth it? Suppose the Bill's could look elsewhere initially at other TE's, if they can't find anyone better, and they've made whatever main moves they plan to make so they pretty much know where they stand money wise , then go after Clay if they don't like any of the other options.
  16. So you'd rather have Kiko sitting on the bench tan McCoy playing as from the sound of things Rex suggesting they should trade Kiko tells me he wouldn't have been a featured player for Rex or be put in a position to do what he did as a rookie. It's a different defense, Sounds like Rex wants LB's doing other things which may not match up with Kiko's strengths Wouldn't surprise me if Rex didn't imagine getting McCoy in his place as would have thought you'd need to give up more to him in return.
  17. Was reading a Yahoo article about how CJ Spiller is going to be this great steal, and who knows maybe he will be, but one quote thought was very laughable, it stated: The first time he experienced a production dip happened in his first season under Doug Marrone Now that is an absolutely true statement, however he's only played four seasons and Marrone was there for two, so that leaves two seasons, and his rookie year didn't do a whole lot. So basically the following could have also been written and stated exactly the same but maybe gave more information and shead more light on his overall career: He's had one very good season over his four year career (and if you want to add), but regressed the past two seasons under the new coach Doug Marrone As they like to often say, figures don't lie, but liars figure!
  18. If that's the highway you like to frequent, I'm not going to stop you!
  19. It was leaked by Adam Shekler that part of the new contract is that the Bills have agreed to play two games a season in Harrisburg.
  20. Haven't seen this guy mentioned in quite awhile, maybe he resigned, but the Bears Center, also could play guard I believe I read supposedly he liked our line coach, sounded like a reasonable priced pickup. If not him, anyone but Iupati as he'll be too expensive, Don't understand why most here seem to think we need two lineman. We need another guard (or center and move Woods). Tackles we have two 2nd round picks and a 7th round pick who played every game last season and looked decent out there for a rookie. He would have been selected much higher without the drug concerns and he wasn't the biggest problem we had out there last year. You can't keep giving up on draft picks before you know how they'll pan out, ideally you'd rather have the rookie become the starter as it's cheap money. People have ripped the Bill's for letting guys like Levetre, Byrd to name a few leave as we didn't want to pay them the money they got elsewhere. Worse than that even is drafting a guy, then a year later bring in a high priced FA to replace him and never knowing how the rookie may have panned out. In three years later his contract expires and he goes elsewhere and then we als ohave nothing to show for the draft picked and spent alot of money at that position instead of paying just the rookie contract. Even worse is we sign a guy and maybe all this work Kujo is doing off season really works out and he beats out the FA signing, then you have starter money sitting on the bench. If we sign a tackle in about ten days, that's fine as now we're in the maybe $1.5 to $2 mil money range. If Kujo beats him out have a $2mil backup isn't too bad
  21. I commented in another thread, the Bills can get him back in two seasons once he's likely cut for underperforming the $11 mil contract he got. If he goes someplace where these's a good line, then he may be OK
  22. I'd rather see him have another good season or at least half a season before extending. Seems last season was the first real strong one worth extending that he had.
  23. The Bills D is good, but to suggest playing nine vrs eleven seems a bit much! In all seriousness I wouldn't over pay for him either, but likely some team will. If he goes a team with a decent D already, he may be OK, but likely the team to overpay are the ones with little to know current pass rush. Depending on Jerry in that mode., likely won't work out.
