He also could be doing like a number of players do, assuming he does want to stay in Buffalo, don't sign anything now, see what kind of offers he can get, then take his best offer back to Buffalo for them to match, or at least come close, then he signs here. Likely some team will offer him stupid money though and he will sign elsewhere, particularly some team that is weak at pass rush. I also think he's the by product of those around him, there's a good chance he signs elsewhere in two years whomever signs him finds that out and cuts him, so in the long run he could make more money by signing for less in Buffalo as has a better chance of playing out the contract.

Rex Whaley emerging.

I'm still kind of skeptical of this entire Polian thing?? There was never any type of response out of Buffalo on it which maybe isn't surprising as I think TP is to classy for that. I think all Polian was asked to do was be an extra set of eyes and ears for Whaley, not to replace or demote him. All of a sudden he's talking about how he's bringing in AJ Smith, etc. Maybe at that point TP told him that wasn't the job I'm asking you to so, so then Polian backed out and came up with this "too heavy a lift" excuse. Whole thing just doesn't add up IMO -

While I agree everything is great between the two, I'm sure one month into the Doug Marrone era, those two got along also. Great idea on the trade, just find me a GM dumb enough to make that trade. This isn't the NBA, few trades take place and only superstars garner 1st rounders in return. There was an article coming out of Indy suggesting Indy trade their #1, #29 overall to Bufflo for Marcel D. While I'd want much more for Marcel, but if the thought is that's all you're going to get for him, you'd be lucky t oget a 3rd rounder for McKelvin. -

Isn't there a period of time when you're not allowed to sign contracts? Are we within that period? -

Bills radio (Mike Schopp is awful)

Where I live I get to listen to Dan Lebatard on the way home, he's just as bad. He has a weekly segmant of love advise from Marcelous Wiley, and about every two weeks, he has the head zoo keeper from the Miami zoo on talking about mating habits of some turtle. I agree, I do find that funny how many threads there are about a guy that everyone hates to listen too. The station managers at WGR could care less if he's liked, just that he's talked about. We do a great job here of helping him keep his job. Actually I think they all follow the same trend. They want to show that sports means very little in the overall scheme of things. Yeah it's great to be a fan on Sunday for three hours, but the rest of the week there are more important things in life than sports. That's what you should be focused on according to these guys so they talk as little about sports as they can to prove that point. There are many out there who'd agree with them, however very few of them if any are the types of people who then post on team message boards like we all do. Not that I disagree with most here, but we're not the most objective audiance to crtic him as we all want sports 24/7 -
Who is the 2nd toughest Guard available ?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I'll agree that his play didn't look very good, but as has been pointed out our running game went down the tubes once he got hurt. So maybe not nearly as bad as most of the wanna be scouts here think he is. -
The Bills FO Changes Need To Be Completed !!

The things people believe is amazing. As they often say, "If it's stated on the internet it must be true!" That being said, I do agree that Overdolf may likely have turned off players in the past with low offers and not willing to meet halfway, however anything he did or said was based on the marching orders he was receiving from Littman and RW. I'm sure if TP tells him to spend money like a drunken sailer, he'll do that. -
Until you know what happens in FA kind of waste of time. Personally I'd draft QB and RB 2nd and 3rd, that's based on assumption that they signed one or two FA guards. If you really feel there's no QB's worth the 2nd or 3rd round, then I'd likely go with the TE idea

I think many of the reasons stated caused it, but what mayu have put it over the top is that Jet's have received alot of bad press over the years, most deserved to some extent. Naming Marrone as head coach with the stories of him quitting, being over controlling, trashing the Bills on the way out, a whopping 9-7 record, would have been ripped pretty good in the press, they didn't want that. They wanted a big splash hire though in the end really didn't get that much in Bowles either, but at least nothing to knock.

Crazy idea that could work
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Franchiseneedsme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Hughes is going to price himself out of the Bills market. You can only spend so many $$ in one area of the team. Unless a team that signs him has a real good D-line around him, (which if they did, they'd have the same issues as the Bills would with paying him) likely by around November, whomever signs him to a big contract will be regretting it. I think one of the backups the Bills have could replace him with maybe a small drop off when he is playing next to the Williams brothers and Marcel, and an up and coming group of LB's behind them. I'd prefer seeing them sign two guards, Yesterday the guy from Chicago was mentioned as not costing a fortune, sign him and either the guy from SF or Green Bay. Between Dixon, Brown, and Jackson, you have a good group at RB, but need the real star. Unless you can sign Demarco Murry or someone of that caliper, I'd rather take my chances in the draft. Put a good line out there and easy for a rookie to go for 1200 yards. Look at the 5th round pick from Washington 2 years ago. So I'd sign in FA two guard/center, a QB, bring back Spikes,, sign a tall WR, I hear Mike Williams may be available, some mid level depth in the secondary, if you can find a real good TE, great if not draft one. I'd then use my second and third round draft picks on RB and QB in no particular order. Yes! I think it's more of a fact that the two teams have very good to great defenses around him. Would the team be better with Revis than without, sure, but I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. The last 5 or 6 games of the season, one could argue the Bills had a shutdown secondary, that to me is a better situation. -
Patriots on the Brink of History

There I fixed it for you. Yes they could be the team with the most loses, but you have to get there to lose them. Do you somehow derive that this means they are a terrible team are a terribly run organization. Statistics like this are about as insightful as someone predicting it will .likely snow again in western NY in 2015. Absolutely true, but meaningless! -

The way this whole thing went down with him, I can't help but wonder if the issue really wasn't that Terry P wanted to bring BP in as advisor, all of a sudden BP is talking about bringing in a new GM, etc. at which point TP told BP hold on, I never agreed to this, I just want you to advise the current people in place. BP didn't want to announce I turned the job down becasue they weren't going to give me complete control, so instead blamed it on being too big of a task for him. What was stated publicly just doesn't make much sense to me unless there was more too it. Will also be interesting to see if anything changes at all with BP after Saturdays HOF vote?
