  1. Seems like they were fully ready to let him walk and then he surprised them and offered to stay at a bit of a discount, and they figured they’d end up spending $3.5-$6M this year to replace him so why not spend a couple more million to get a known quantity (his cap hit for this year is under $10m I believe). Not an irrational process. The takeaway remains that they need to really start hitting more efficiently on their (post-2017) draft picks to fill other holes. They can’t afford any more Cody Fords or even Singletaries.
  2. Looks like Deebo in those highlights.
  3. Have to believe they are seriously considering Etienne. Taking a RB in rounds 1-3 three years in a row has to be unprecedented - and they'd better have a running game for the ages to show for it if they go that route.
  4. Fun to wonder about what Andre Ware could do in the modern NFL.
  5. Hot, in a 1986 RCA tube-powered television type way.
  6. Careful, they’re liable to flip out and knife you.
  7. The league is about to get FLOODED with veteran free agent guards. This is the offseason if you’re a team in need of a veteran guard. The prices will surprise people in how low they are.
  8. Ritchie Incognito released.
  9. Reminds me of Ray-Ray. Quick but not fast.
  10. Paying premium dollars for a lm average-to-above-average guard on the back side of 30 is not a recipe for success. In fact it’s a horrible idea.
  11. Good fit for him. Basically Houston circa 2018.
  12. They’d have to change the offense for him. They don’t have backs and tight ends to throw to.
  13. Do you have kids? Social media is terrifying. They spend their time on it (or their friends do) at a young age, and internalize the “like/dislike” dynamic, plus one mistake they make will follow them around for life potentially. It’s horrible. (And my parents’ generation is worse! Baby Boomers on Facebook is possibly the worst thing that has happened in this century. They fill their time with Facebook-surfing for cat videos, conspiracy theories, stupid memes and lame jokes, hokey sayings of encouragement, pictures of their new kitchens, etc. THE WORST.)
  14. Sports is just a microcosm of society, in that and every other respect. Social media is a NET NEGATIVE for humanity.
  15. Watt or someone else who keeps posting about him…
  16. Ya think? That would not a good plan.
  17. Yeah I’m not sure on him. 21 catches in college. Doesn’t seem to have a powerful base - Alvin Kamarra is low key a power back - that’s what you’re looking for, in addition to raw speed, some other “plus” factor like effectiveness in the passing game or some ability to break a tackle. Can he pass protect on third down with that frame? If not, he’s going to be used so sparingly I’m not sure it’s worth a draft pick investment. And I agree with the poster above about the spin moves in the backfield - those aren’t going to work at the next level. He’ll lose 6 yards.
  18. Surprised this isn't a Tipster thread.
  19. Lol “hard pass” on JJ Watt!
  20. Liked what Davis showed last year. Now he needs to work on his upper-body strength and overall assertiveness - too often he would lose contested catches and/or fail to work the refs when he was getting mugged. I guess that’s my only concern with the guy - he may be too nice to dominate at that position.
  21. Need to be able to win in multiple ways to win the Lombardi. They can’t.
