I think that GMs and front offices spend a lot of time calling other teams and asking what the relative price of players would be, even if that player is unlikely to get traded or the chances are slim. Even also in cases where the team doing the asking is doing well and wouldn't necessarily need that player. It's just good business sense to always assess the market and see where there's potential value should you need to make a move.

I hate it when it happens but some days the other team just gets in your head and absolutely has your number. Watched it plenty of times with Peyton or TB12, despite their long careers and success they played some absolutely ABYSMAL games sometimes.

That's a reasonable take, it's really close to the 2 minute mark so you can't challenge after that anyway. The downside is minimal to the massive upside.
