  1. We're basically the Brady Pats of the division now. You have to play us perfectly and every ball has to bounce your way for your team to beat the Bills and even then 90% of the time it isn't enough.
  2. Yeah but this way the NFL gets to have a product on TV from basically 9:30am until almost midnight when the SNF game wraps. That's $$$ and the NFL likes many things, but it LOVES money. I also get to start drinking at 10am, which is fine by me.
  3. It's a combination of all three. He's taking the short/underneath stuff, our OL is good at pass pro and decent at run blocking and we have a running game that is competent enough that it requires respect and game planning. All those factors are forcing defenders to play closer to the LOS which opens up the downfield shots when there's 1-1 coverage. That's how is completion % is so high with his YPA also being high.
  4. Wasn't Dion sick or hurt in that game so we had to start Spencer Brown at left tackle and didn't we have depth players playing guard? I seem to recall our offensive line played downright offensively that game.
  5. Josh Allen's greatest enemy this week? Josh Allen.
  6. Season is young, one of our (extremely good) starting corners went down with a potentially career ending injury. Yes our DL looks beastly, yes we're playing great football in all phases but there's still a long slog to get to the post-season. I'm going to reserve my excitement for when we punch our ticket to the playoffs because to me, with where this team is at right now, that's when it gets real.
  7. Whatever Elam's issues might be, he's going to have to figure it out quickly but at least we have a slate of games where he can settle in and find his legs before the back end of the schedule shows up and ***** gets real. Hope Benford is okay and bounces back quick, we're already a bit thin at CB but have some players like Neal or Lewis that can play that spot in a pinch. Feel good about Jackson/Benford/Elam holding it down, but gonna be lame if we're down to our second string secondary by week 4 with the prospect of having to call up Ingram or Brown off the practice squad to round out depth.
  8. It's been really crazy how much better the front 7 has been playing and just creating absolute havoc for QBs and O-lines. I had my reservations about McD taking over the defense but I'm happy to admit I was wrong.
  9. Noticed that, play design was very similar to the Vikings play where Chris Ivory almost took it to the house. Vikings version was a little messier and looked like a broken scramble play.
  10. Wasn't too long ago the Bills were a D-list matchup and you had to watch other teams play to think "oh, THIS is what it's supposed to look like!" We're now that team and other teams just look bad by comparison. I'm very much at peace with that 🙂
  11. Damien Harris had that one kick he returned for 41 or maybe this is finally the game where Deonte Harty shines.
  12. Counterpoint: Week 1 (on my work computer so copy pasting images is kind of a chore) Also look at his overall pass chart for 2022, he's deadly over the middle, throwing to the right side (because he's a southpaw) but his shorter passes to the sidelines are where he struggles (relatively).
  13. Watch the pass spread charts for Tua, he LOVES the middle of the field and crossing routes and hates throwing to the sidelines because he doesn't have the arm strength. Bills have to clog the middle and the sideline from the hash where the ball is snapped from. Force Tua to throw to the sidelines past the sticks. His arm doesn't have the velocity to get it there quickly enough and those routes can be jumped by a well positioned LB or safety.
  14. The Pats play very sound defensive football, for the level of talent that defense has it's punching well above its weight. Like McD, BB is VERY good at maximizing the talent he has on D. If they had 1-2 playmakers/game wreckers on that D it would be scary good. Their problem is they can't generate offense to save their life. If their offense was moderately competent they would have handed the Fins an L.
  15. Eh, how many years did NE look messy in some games, dominant in others or just looked like a good but not great team that just made a play when it mattered? I think the Bills are plenty good, good enough to win a championship for sure. They just need to be able to make a play when it really matters.
  16. My impression is the same as it is every year, September is a liar. The power rankings will be accurate come November.
  17. I'm just going to point out that I can't believe we're experiencing an era of Bills football that I'm alive for where the major topic of conversation on the board is that our offense looks 'clunky' or 'disjointed' despite literally being one of the top 5 scoring offenses the last few years. Most NFL teams would KILL for our offensive production and all we can do is moan that it doesn't look pretty enough 🤣
  18. It’s almost as if this FO is good at their jobs, despite the gnashing teeth here 😂
  19. That 2010 Chargers squad is the proverbial case study for why special teams play DOES matter.
  20. Those shows are just content generators for the clips posted to socials and youtube. I watch clips of those shows on socials, but actually sitting down and watching any of that drivel live? Ugh.
  21. It's coach speak. Smart football is conservative football when the situation calls for it. No coach wants to go on record saying they want their offense to play conservatively, that's almost an insult to your players.
  22. Remember that season when the Chiefs started 3-4, Mahomes was throwing all sorts of picks all over the place and their offense was getting stymied by the 2 deep shell and their offense looked limp and lifeless? Remember how they sorted that out? I remember. I'm gonna chill and let the season develop, there's 16 more games and I've watched enough football that what September shows you is rarely the truth.
  23. I'm excited and optimistic, but it feels more quiet and determined. I know this team can be great. The last two years was a lot of chest puffing because everyone ***** on the Allen pick, crapped on us trading for Diggs and it's been nothing but absolutely right. I was insanely hyped last season when we traded for Miller and it looked like we were just gonna steamroll the league weeks 1-2. Then the injuries happened. I'd rather this team starts slow and peaks at the right time than comes out guns blazing and runs out of gas by the middle of the season.
  24. Man chose the bag instead of the ring, can't hate. Can't create generational wealth with Super Bowl rings. Big bag of money on the other hand...
  25. Maybe it was game plan as well, but I just don't see a very robust passing game with the Lions. I get weird shades of Greg Roman and the 49ers and Ravens offenses where the running game is extremely well developed and absolutely lethal but the passing game has maybe 5-10 plays. Maybe it's anecdotal, but I swear the only pass play the Lions have is that in-cut to the middle of the field and Goff completes a pass to a WR between the hashes. Everything else is screens and short passes to a TE.
