  1. Cousins has a torn achilles and JJ is out for a while. Wonder if they’ll pack it in and be sellers on the trade market leading up to Wednesday.
  2. I mean last year they lost to Zach Wilson and beat Patrick Mahomes, the year before that they lost to Mac Jones but beat Patrick Mahomes. Division games have an element of wtf to them some years, see the Dolphins & Jets last year. We'll see what happens, they're not dead yet but man the last couple of games have looked like a struggle.
  3. I get that he’s the HC and DC, but man is it hard to deal with the fact that 30-40% of your starting defensive lineup is either out due to injury or done for the year. If he can right that ship he’s a goddamn miracle worker.
  4. Defensive depth is being tested and oh boy is it being exposed.
  5. I think Von can speak to a similar situation, where the Denver Broncos had an aging Peyton Manning, Brock Osweiler had to come in to relieve him from bad play/injury and they had a couple of shaky moments in the middle of the season. That team rallied, the defense really clamped down and they ended up winning the Super Bowl as an underdog. Sure Von's play isn't all that on the field right now as he gets himself right, but that experience speaks volumes to a team that could have folded in the face of an offense that looked DOA after it became obvious that Peyton could no longer push the ball down the field.
  6. We'll be down to Philips, Settle, Ford and Vickers on the interior. Williams is Bernard are good run defenders and our edges can set the edge decently well, at least Lawson and Epenesa do. Taron is also good in run situations. Their passing game is limited, if we can shut down the run this game is over.
  7. We, as a fanbase, have turned into the Manning era Colts. Good enough to get to the dance but always a bridesmaid and never a bride. Beats being *****/average, but I’d sure as hell love for this team and Allen to win a ring.
  8. I do sometimes wonder how you're supposed to officiate or control how this works in a game as fast and as violent as NFL football. We're favoring the passing game, so defenders are getting smaller, faster and more agile/athletic. As a result, they're being forced to tackle players that are bigger than them. That puts the defender at a disadvantage when trying to tackle. What is the defenders supposed to do other than drop their legs out from under them, using the weight of their body as a means to create dead weight and bring the offensive player down? So many of these ticky tack rules, it makes for a worse overall game because if the play isn't executed perfectly by everyone on the field the offensive is either gifted a fresh set of downs or is walking back 10-15 yards and the drive is basically on life support. Frankly, and I know this sounds insane, but they should just get rid of pads/helmets and force the players to play that way. Instead of trying to legislate safety but forcing players to wear more armor and get faster/stronger, force players to protect their bodies because there isn't anything protect them.
  9. That's honestly purely volume, look at his carries/attempts in Buffalo vs the amount of carries he's getting in Indy. He had maybe 90-110 carries a year with the Bills. This year in Indy he's played 5 games and has 96 carries already. His stats are not THAT much better in Indy than they were here but his attempts per game is almost DOUBLE in Indy what it was in Buffalo.
  10. This was a weird ass weekend of football, I blame mercury being in retrograde.
  11. The only way I'm justifying what I watched last night is that Daboll, desperate to notch a W, put together a great gameplan to stop the Bills offense, because he knows Dorsey, he knows Allen and he knows this offense. If anyone can scheme a couple of wrinkles in to give the Bills a hard time it would probably be Daboll. Really weird week in the NFL, Eagles lost, 49ers lost, lots of funky low scoring games everywhere. Figures we'd get sucked into that nonsense too. At least we got the W.
  12. If anything, at least Williams looks good and is playing with his hair on fire 🔥
  13. The thing I 'appreciated' (if you can put it that way lol) about watching the BB/Brady Pats was patience. They rarely had games get away from them because they were willing to be patient in all 3 phases to wait for the right moment, let an opponent commit an unforced error, and capitalize.
  14. You honestly think that BB would willingly tank a season to set up his kid and not chase the all time wins record from George Halas? BB has 299 wins and needs 20 more to beat the record. He's gunning for it and you better believe it.
  15. I think IR is only season ending if it's done in preseason before final cutdowns. All in season IR is technically non-season ending now (I am almost sure).
  16. I think 'the system' for a DE, playing in a 4/2/5, is pretty straightforward. There's a lot more to digest if you're a LB, S or a CB. Dline has much fewer coverage responsibilities and the part of the field they are responsible for is much smaller.
  17. Poona and Settle are gonna have to step up. Poona was brought on as insurance for Daquan going down. He hasn't been super inspiring so far, but he's getting a chance to prove his worth. They're gonna have to figure out a way to make it work.
  18. Couldn't run for ***** yesterday either, leading rusher was JA with 14 yards?! Is the Jags run defense that good? Also I don't have the numbers but it seemed like every single snap was from shotgun and we ran almost no PA from center.
  19. I'm sure Jason Mendoza does/did.
  20. I need time to get my workout and breakfast in and then a pause to let everything settle and digest a bit, I like drinking but on an empty stomach I get in trouble. Gotta lay a foundation and let it set right to sustain pace for the day. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
  21. We're basically the Brady Pats of the division now. You have to play us perfectly and every ball has to bounce your way for your team to beat the Bills and even then 90% of the time it isn't enough.
  22. Yeah but this way the NFL gets to have a product on TV from basically 9:30am until almost midnight when the SNF game wraps. That's $$$ and the NFL likes many things, but it LOVES money. I also get to start drinking at 10am, which is fine by me.
  23. It's a combination of all three. He's taking the short/underneath stuff, our OL is good at pass pro and decent at run blocking and we have a running game that is competent enough that it requires respect and game planning. All those factors are forcing defenders to play closer to the LOS which opens up the downfield shots when there's 1-1 coverage. That's how is completion % is so high with his YPA also being high.
