  1. Having a lot of cap dollars tied up in older players is going to open the door a little wider for bad luck. I don't think this is necessarily Beane's fault. The Bills have consistently been picking at the end of Round 1, lowering the chance of hitting on immediate impact players at a lower cost, meaning you have to invest top dollar into veterans. Perhaps he could have been more savvy in trading away assets to acquire draft picks, allowing more mobility in the draft, but that has only become apparent this year. The Bengals and Dolphins aren't that far removed from some really terrible seasons where they were able to acquire young, top-flight round 1 talent.
  2. I unfortunately watched some of this game. Bad football all around. Bears remind me of drought Bills. Panthers somehow worse than drought Bills. Just bad bad football. Frank Reich looks like he's averaging two packs of Marlboro 100s per day. I feel bad for DJ Moore.
  3. It felt like he’s trying to be knox there. Doesn’t need to be. His catch % is way too high to convince me he's trying to be like Knox 😆
  4. No its not. The other defender made a hell of a play that is very low %. Kincaid did nothing wrong. I get that the defender made a hell of a play. I get that a defender punching the ball out is low %. I appreciate that. But you can't tell me that going airborne doesn't increase the risk of fumbling compared to a player who keeps both hands on the ball and is tackled routinely. I'm not saying don't jump ever, but at the moment in the game, it wasn't the smartest decision from a ball security standpoint. I'm with you. I'm stoked about the kid. Hopefully a strong learning moment for him.
  5. I currently like the hell out of him Ugh. Same. Wait... we talking about Kelce or McDermott?
  6. Yeah, and it did have a big impact on our game, potentially costing us it. We had the momentum and if we had scored, who knows how Cincy would have responded. In that moment, Dalton Kincaid was a brick and as Chongli will tell you, "brick no hit back."
  7. I change my mind about Travis Kelce about as frequently as this board changes its mind about Sean McDermott.
  8. I don't disagree. All I'm saying is that it was easier for the defender to make that play because Dalton was head-over-heels with one hand on the ball. I'm not saying stop trying to get the extra yards, but have a little more situational awareness to know when ball security is more important than a few extra yards.
  9. Now we just need him to stop trying to dive over every defender in his path. I appreciate the extra effort but getting himself upended like in the cinci game is going to result in more fumbles.
  10. It's far easier to find a good coach than find a good QB (although, neither are that easy to find). You move on from the coach before you move on from the QB. Let the new staff bring in a new system and revitalize the QB play. If that doesn't work — then, and only then, do you move on from the QB.
  11. Yeah, I've really enjoyed watching so many of these guys on this roster play over the past 5-6 years. It really is starting to feel like the end for this version of the Bills. This group of players have been so easy and fun to root for that it really is a drag that they didn't get it done (maybe a miracle happens this year?). Regardless, it's been fun and I'm grateful for that.
  12. I always got this vibe from Jim Harbaugh that he liked cocaine, like, really liked cocaine. And I just don't know if that's the kind of energy we need around Josh Allen. Is this a slanderous statement about Jim Harbaugh? I don't know. Maybe? But didn't he punch Jim Kelly once? And didn't he used to slap Alex Smith in the helmet a whole bunch before 49ers games? According to this board, Josh Allen has already had 53 concussions and he doesn't need Jim Harbaugh ringing his bell before Sunday Night Football.
  13. I'm not even sure I'd be confident that Poyer or Hyde would be able to give you a full season next year. I'm afraid Poyer's arm is going to fall off every time he makes a tackle, and Hyde seems like he could be one unlucky hit away from being done for good (and luck has not been on our side as of late).
  14. Looks like we can get rid of Harty and free up a little over 3 million. We might as well do that right now and put that money toward a good motivational speaker or something.
  15. That's probably the stupidest trend I've ever heard yeah, it's nuts.
  16. Are you suggesting that Josh does not participate in no nut november?
  17. This article is from 2017 but the data holds up today. The Bills need to strongly consider moving forward with Allen or McDermott, but not both. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-coaches-and-qbs-should-divorce-after-five-years-of-not-winning/
  18. John Elway and Phil Simms are the only two examples of QBs who won Super Bowls after coaching changes. Elway lost 3 Super Bowls with Gibbs as coach in the 80s and it wasn't until Shanahan was hired that Elway won. Simms had been the Giants QB for 4 seasons with little success. Parcells was hired in 83 and they won the Super Bowl in 86. It's not very inspiring. But it's not any better for teams that held onto 1 head coach for a long time... Bill Cowher and Andy Reid are the only examples. Cowher had coached the Steelers for over a decade but didn't get over the hump until drafting Big Ben. Andy Reid had sustained success in KC for 4 years but didn't get over the hump until drafting Mahomes. At this point, something has to change for the Bills, and it's either McDermott or Allen.
  19. After last night, I have a problem with 32 NFL teams 🙃
  20. I want chaos. I want everything to go horribly wrong for every team.
  21. Watching the game last night, I kept thinking that this version of the Bills looks burned out. It's written on their faces and in their energy. They have the look of a fighter that knows they have lost the fight and are just trying to not get knocked out. Even McDermott looks completely burned out. This roster needs a reset. And I think you've got to strongly consider bringing in an offensive head coach with a new staff that can potentially maximize Josh Allen's talent. New energy, new team, new belief that they can win. If they're lucky, they can flip the roster in 2 years and have a new window open in 3 years. Because I think Josh Allen has 3–5 years left. And with his style of play, I fear that it's probably closer to 3 years before his physical tools really decline.
  22. Beane needs to approach next season the way he did in 2018: treat it like a rebuild and try to offload as much as possible. That means accepting 2024, and probably 2025, as true down years. If they do it right, they can be competing again with a largely new roster (and new coach) by 2026.
  23. Good player. Not a game-wrecker. Probably won't ever be. About what you'd expect out of an edge rusher drafted at the end of round 1.
