Please stop with this. You don’t even know if Davis can cover anybody. The play was not even design to be a Hail Mary. Hopkins made it to the end zone because the play was broken. It looked to be designed to get 20 yards to a the sideline and out of bounds. The QB got flushed out and almost sacked - instead he bought time rolling left. That time is what enabled Hopkins on a scramble play to get into the end zone. The pass was perfect, Hopkins jump was perfect and none of the Bills made a play. Further, we did not deserve to lose because of the 3Q. We dominated the first half and we took a 14 point lead in the 3rd quarter. Using your logic did Arizona deserve to lose because they fell behind by 14?

Crazy how times have changed (for the better)
Bob in STL replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They are not better until they pass us in the standings. We have more wins, we beat them head to head. Their defense is playing well but ours has played 2 straight decent games against two great offenses with lots of injuries to deal with. Let’s get Milano back and healthier in the secondary and we shall see. Let’s see what Tua does in the stretch and under pressure before we anoint them. -
Murrey's 2nd TD - Block in the back?
Bob in STL replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could find something on most plays if you want to drive yourself nuts. We had a stretch in the 3Q with 5 penalties in 7 plays and we earned every one of them. The only questionable call was the late hit 26 put on a DL. -

Yup. We are in it. We are more than relevant We get some badly needed rest this week. That game got away from us. Move on. The NFL is a tough league. Most games come down to a play here and a play there. They have to learn from it and get better. How are they better? That’s crazy to say. -
Week 10 SNF: Baltimore at Pats
Bob in STL replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can’t believe how bad the Ravens look. What was that 4th and 1 call? Snapping the ball to a player not named Lamar is just stupid. -
So does anyone think that was a planned Hail Mary? Typically on a Hail Mary you send a few receivers to same spot in the end zone and bombs away. Murray bought time and lost time with the scramble. He threw an incredible ball to Hopkins, the only Cardinal in sight. The throw was really incredible given the circumstances. Murray knew not to run and not to throw to anyone else because his scramble took all the time. I just wonder if the call was to hit Hopkins deep and have him get out of bounds but the pressure and scramble led to the broken play end zone pass.

Murray was phenomenal to scramble, buy time, and make that throw - a jump ball right on target. Hopkins was phenomenal to get deep on the scramble and go up and get it, lock it his two hands and make the catch. Hyde was passive, was outjumped and did nothing physically to disrupt his hands or get to the ball. He was like a basketball rebounder clearly blocked out by a rebounder in better position. Tre had good position and the best chance to make a play. He just did not get high enough and was out jumped by Hopkins who put two hands on the ball. Tre may have been able to strip it but it appears that Poyer, who came in late, actually knocked Tre off of Hopkins. They had two great players come up big.

We did not play terrible. We played poorly for most of the 3Q and part of 4Q but we took a 4 point lead with 34 seconds left on the road. Hopkins out-jumped Tre and Hyde. Why they weren’t more aggressive to strip it and tear at it? well Hopkins is a beast and he simply beat them. Murray bought the time he needed and put the ball in a great spot for him to do it. The play was lucky and great at the same time. Move on. The bye is much needed, this team is banged up.
-
No. It actually does not. The odds of blowing a 4 point lead with 34 seconds left with the ball on your 25 is much, much , much less than .5. Coming down to a Completed Hail Mary passes - that does even happen once per season. We had 3 guys at the ball and no one made a play on the biggest play of the game.

Ten starters did not opt out. Eight players opted out and not all are starters, maybe 3 are starters and only Hightower is an impact player. NE players Opted out before season: tackle Marcus Cannon, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, safety Patrick Chung, tight end Matt LaCosse, running back Brandon Bolden, fullback Dan Vitale, receiver Marqise Lee and guard Najee Toran. Before Brady, Belicheck was an under .500 coach. I’m not counting him out even this year, I am saying their talent is average. Let’s see him coach them up without Brady.
-
He can live off of his blubber for quite awhile. Belly had been the the coach/GM/czar for a long time. He is running his course without Tommy. The talent level on New England is average, and below average in the skill positions. Let’s see what he does with a more favorable draft position because he has an 8-8 team at best.

Players have to practice to play?
Bob in STL replied to BillsfaninSB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. No rule states you have to practice to play. In today’s game you better be at least learning the game plan and looking at film if you are resting an injury and then going thru the walkthroughs. -
the Old History of the Buffalo Bills
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went to a few games with my Dad and Uncles. Very run down place but good sight lines. Crazy crowd, lots of drinking. They had some really good teams too. I remember one game when Lamonica came in for Kemp and pulled the game out. Man could he throw. I hated when they traded him. Saban left and the team really declined fast. -
Yes, Allen. That I must be very hard for Josh if he can’t see his family until the bye week.
-
I assumed Josh Allen went back to California, but maybe he didn’t? The logistics of that with Covid make it difficult. Does anyone know if he is at practice?

Holy crap Daboll interview
Bob in STL replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Rams let Dick Vermeil walk after his SB win in favor of OC Mike Martz. Many insiders thought they pushed him out in favor of Martz. Martz lost his SB opportunity to the spying/cheating Pats* but his teams never did have the same balance across defense and special teams that Vermeil’s teams did. -
Why didn't McDermott challenge the Davis TD?
Bob in STL replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely the job of his spotters in the booth. No way Davis could tell, he knew he was extremely close to being OOB. On first down I would spread the defense with 3 wide and then go with Moss quick hitter to the left, not Singletary to the right which was the play call. -
How do the Bills match up with Arizona?
Bob in STL replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we will need more balance in passing and running yards this game but we still need to let Josh air it out. Expect them to try the Titans/Chiefs formula and Josh to patiently throw short to medium range passes. If our defense makes another step forward to contain their QB, and we stay away from penalties/turnovers we can win.
