  1. I see a trade for Fitz in the works.
  2. Not strange. They used him correctly. He saw some action. He made a few plays. His pec (not hammy) is healing. He will be better and play more against the Pats*.
  3. Count me out on this. We still look like a top 5, 6, or 7 team in the rugged AFC. We are 5-2 and lead the division so why apologize for that? McDermott is doing a fine job. I think we have less talent on defense this year than in the past. We simply have not replaced players like Star, Lorenzo and Kyle. We did not improve our defensive depth despite the many free agents that were brought in. Beane will not fire his coach and if the Pegula’s are dumb enough to fire McDermott he will get hired immediately and I suspect Beane would be sending out feelers too. I might remind you that Pittsburgh has had 3 head coaches since Chuck Noll in the 70’s. Three. THREE. Firing our coach would be immensely stupid.
  4. My take is that we played another shakey game but we’re good enough to win against a hapless team. The defense had a very poor start - bad run defense and no pressure. Then they came on and played a great second half. I wonder if McD took over the playcalling? They could have choked after the penalty on 23 but instead they played better. Finally got a big game from 55. We need to get healthier on defense. The offense never punted. Six field goals in eight attempts is an oddity. Josh was inaccurate in the first half, forcing throws in traffic, and the fumble in the red zone. Many bad penalties again, one nullified a TD. On the positive side Josh was patient and more accurate in the second half. Moss hit the holes fast and hard. Beasley always seems to be open. Special teams had two penalties on punt returns. Then Bass goes 6 of 8. His second miss really hurt but overall he built some scar tissue mental toughness this week Pats* next week will be much tougher. The Pats* game is huge and I can remember the last time we beat them in an important game.
  5. Too many penalties. I am surprised by the lack of disciple. Two punt returns in a row.
  6. Why do need a break? Let’s see what Allen does with this turnover.
  7. Excuses. He took a deep drop and had time. He waited to long to throw. He was missed a Diggs 4 times so far. He is rattled.
  8. We just have a soft front 7 and a soft OL.
  9. 10-3. We look terrible. Defense is soft. OL is weak. No run game. Allen is erratic and making poor decisions. Red zone Mistakes, penalties, turnovers .... Can we just once have a better 2nd half? If not we are in trouble.
  10. We might run more th an in the past but we tend tend to run better out of the spread formations. 6-7 man lines would make the Jets happy. We would be playing to their strength.
  11. Well let’s build up a lead and then rest Milano and Tre in the 2nd half. The Jets are bad, but no games are certain.
  12. I believe he was cut because he was not participating and was a distraction - the foot injury claim right before the Titans game was a surprise. I prefer to see Spain at LG over Cody or Ike but something happened to his game. Probably so. Passing downs for sure.
  13. Sometimes yes. It’s not common here to refer to snack food as side pieces, although I knew what you meant by the context. I have spent a lot of time in the UK. Mostly from 2002 to 2005. Can’t wait to go back someday. A side piece could easily refer to having a woman on the side that is not your wife/ girlfriend. Or maybe a even weapon that you carry.
  14. I’m a good cook but lately keeping it simple is also rewarding. A couple of fresh fried eggs cooked over-easy. Two strips of thick slab bacon cooked very slow. Nice Italian bread toasted. Coffee regular. That’s it’s. Nothing fancy today although I admire you guys that get creative with breakfast.
  15. Kroft will play TE and Bates will be the blocking TE. Duke will play limited snaps with 4 wide outs.
  16. No even close. Klein was known to be better against the run. Lorenzo was less stout at the run but far better in pass coverage plus he could get to the QB plus he was a fantastic leader plus he was a special teams star.
  17. I said 2-2. I don’t like it but I’m being realistic. I don’t like the front 7 at all this year. None of the players acquired are playing better than ones they replaced. Lorenzo and Star have left big holes. I think our hopes for a division title hang with Josh becoming a star and carrying the team.
  18. Ike and Winters at guard is a big drop from last year with Spain and Cody/Feliciano. The Jets may stink but they have a strong DL. If our Defense continues to struggle we are going to have to score a lot. The guards are critical. I can see the Jets trying to take away the run and make Josh throw. I can see Josh being flushed out of the pocket by inside pressure. We don’t have a FB and we don’t have RB’s that consistently chip block in pass protection (like Thurman and Freddy did so well). Our offense is basically Josh stretching the field with Brown and Diggs. Brown is out. This is game were Josh has to play great. I can see him being our leading rusher in this one.
  19. I don’t know if Lorax can come back now and play right away. I miss him a lot. We need another LB that can cover and rush the passer. Milano injuries are bad enough but we never replaced Lorenzo.
  20. Next man up has never been truer. Unfortunately, we replaced Lorenzo, Phillips, Star, and now Spain with lesser players and our depth at CB and LB was not good to start the season. Beane needs to improve both sides of the trenches.
  21. You do if you play in the AFC East.
  22. I think the problems start up front with the DL and then permeates through the layers. 1. They have no DT like Star to eat up blockers and space, making the LBs job harder. Oliver is playing below Jordan’s Phillips level last year. 2. The edge rush is not good enough. Hughes got old. Addison‘s sack production would be ok for the #3 guy, not the 1. Murphy disappeared and Epenesa had no camp, no preseason, and is not ready. 3. Milano is always hurt. Edmunds misses Star and he too is hurt. They never replaced Lorenzo’s leadership, coverage, and pass rush skills. 4. They need help at #2CB and at Nickel. Star, Phillips, and Alexander were not adequately replaced. Depth has not improved, it appears to be worse.
  23. He has the right job for him. He gets a lot of respect for his work too.
  24. Bills - 38 Jets - 24 Edit: I just read about the injuries. Bills - 34 Jets - 31
  25. Deacon Jones could transform this defense.
