  1. 7-9 is not too good to get good talent. Please stop the nonsense. 4 picks in the first 2 rounds - we should be able to find a few starters AND a QB prospect.
  2. I get your point. I would have stayed with TT until the inevitable playoff elimination, then played Peterman to get a look see. Seems like a better and more logical approach for all involved. Better for TT, better for Coach, better for NP, and for the whole team. Now we have a disaster ... maybe the team will rally around TT and beat KC in KC next week? I doubt it but weirder things have happened.
  3. The were the 6th seed going in. If you are a player you take that and you try to win the next one. The Coach made the call, he can live with results. They will probably cut the rest of the pre-Carolina holdovers anyway. Then we can play another season with Tolbert, Ducasse, Demarco and the rest of the "talent" they are bringing in.
  4. to soon to tell. Lynn has a Pro Bowl QB and a fine young defense. McCoach has McCoy and that is all.
  5. Ok, Probably not. But at least you lose with dignity in aa closer fought game. If you played football and ever played on poor team you would get that. I am sure that many of the players feel that this coach just screwed up the season.
  6. How was Peterman? My Bills watching goes back to 1963-64. Seen lots of bad. Late 60's, early 70's (Joe Collier, Harvey Johnson, Jim Ringo), the Kay Stevenson/ Hank Bullough 80's, the current drought. This coach is looking way over his head right now. This current string of three losses might be the worst I have even seen. Could be the worst collection DLs, LBs, and WRs we ever had. The right side of the OL is in shambles. There are no backup RBs worth a dang. So, Peterman was as bad as it gets but what chance did he have given the rest of the cast? He had a few bad breaks and then it snowballed. He clearly is not ready to start any more games in this NFL season.
  7. I know this is the age of instant gratification but how playing a few games before we decide?
  8. I hope you are correct. I do think we can win in LA with Peterman. Not sure we can win any other games once KC and NE expose him in the weeks that follow. We are capable of losing two games to Miami, just like last year. Our run defense is that bad. Our DLs and LBs are exposed. I can see the offense improving under Peterman but we still could be 6-10 or 7-9 if the defense does not come around.
  9. Every opponents game plan is to stop McCoy. Just as you saw the past two weeks, the defense will stack the line and dare Peterman to beat them. If he does they will back of and we will be able to run.
  10. Every time we make a coaching or GM change we lose as many talented players as we do bad players. We also lose good coordinators and staff coaches. too much change is bad. The Bills are the Poster child for this. If I was Pegula I would stay with Beane and McD for four full years. Three to build a solid foundation and the fourth to show your a contender.
  11. I think Tyrod is a class act. His is a .500 type QB, he keeps you in games, but does not win games for you. He could manage a game and he kept turnovers to a minimum, mostly by being very conservative with his throws. He could make plays with his feet but the new regime was really trying to keep him in the pocket. He has talent and he is a great teammate. His undoing is his accuracy, his vision, and his propensity to wait for a WR to be wide open. His waiting and waiting for a man to be wide open just does not work in todays NFL. He took 7 sacks against the Jets (not all his fault). He failed to find open receivers in the NO game and put our weak and exposed defense on the field with so many 3 and outs. The blueprint is out and the whole league has it, stack the line and stop the run, keep Tryod in the pocket and make him pass. Despite our nice 5-2 I do not see the talent on this team to make the playoff. I just don't see it. Maybe management realized we may have a better chance of beating a team like the Chargers with Peterman. I would not say that if we had KC at KC next up but the Chargers game is a winnable road game. Maybe Peterman can get us some points and help keep the defense off the field? If nothing else we get to see what Peterman looks like. Right have needs first round needs at QB, DL, OL and LB ... maybe Peterman show us we can draft a QB in rounds 2 or 3 instead? As much as I hate to say it this is year 1 of a 3 year rebuild.
  12. It looked like he might have known them. ? I have never seen our fans so chummy to an opposing player before.
  13. It is a good recipe, its the same one that New England and others use, it simply takes time to instill. You need the right kind of players AND talent. Unfortunately, we subtracted a lot of talent. The upcoming off season will be critical for McBeane and McCoach.
  14. Saints (home) - W Chargers (road) - W Chiefs (road) - L Pats* (home) - W Colts (home) - W Miami (home) - L Pats* (road) - L Miami (road) - W 10-6 and playoffs.
  15. Beane seems to be a pretty smart cookie to me so far. Cleared out some $$$ for the future (Dareus), picked up some draft capital for the future (Darby and Watkins), and picked up some low priced players that fit the mold of what we are trying to build. For the first time in a very long time the GM and Coach are in synch. I hope that Glenn does not get traded this season and I cannot see a reason to trade him when he seems to be making an big positive impact. I can't wait to see what Beane and McD do in the off season. I actually can wait, this season is really fun. So I have to disagree with the OP. We might really have someone good here. Time will tell.
  16. The saying is "inmates run the Asylum" not "inmates run the prison". The NFL, and our society today for that matter, has come an asylum fuel by mass communication. Too much news, too much tweeting, too much political correctness, too much sensitivity. It has now become vogue to accuse people of being racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobic, islamophobic, you name it. In 25 years this will behavior will hopefully have faded away and will look like the McCarthy days in the 50's when people were unjustly accused of being communists. We are approaching the "anything goes" era.
  17. 6th rounder is garbage. I was expecting 2nd rounder. They better eat his entire cap hit too. I have the same feeling I had when Lamonica was traded. Something wrong here.
  18. Well for starters ... the guy on the other defensive end, the one not named Jerry Hughes, needs to get more pressure. That and not much pressure up the middle is why we are not getting the sacks.
  19. Not a Vlad fan but Miller must not be impressing the coaches. Vlad and miller are essentially a wash in the coaches eyes. Vlad does not dress because he cannot back up center like Groy can. Same reason Miller won't dress today. I'm more worried about our starters out at WR, CB, and LB than I am RG. The difference between Miller and Vlad is small, we want it to be big but it is not. The same cannot be said for our backup in the other positions. I do not feel good about this game.
  20. Yes, the Bronco's have a pretty big National following plus Buffalo draws a lot of Canadian NFL fans. Since the Bills have not given the younger Canadian fans any reason to be Bills fans, many of them come to the stadium as NFL fans and root for the visitors. I have experienced this when Dallas or New England comes to town.
  21. I am amazed that so many here wonder why the Anthem is played at a public sporting event? Maybe a generational thing as I hear some people believe in not saying the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. I like the anthem played at event. I love it actually. I know where I stand. If the Anthem is played at a public event you stand at attention is a quiet and respectful manner, hats off for you gents. We should be thankful to live in America and have the rights we have. Freedom is a gift to us and unfortunately it is not a human right everywhere in the world. If you wish to protest the Anthem then you should leave the field area or the stands. Players can go to the dressing, fans to the concessions. In this way you get to "protest" and the rest of us, who happen to be the overwhelming majority, are not offended. Those who do not "protest" should not harass the ones that do. So be it. It is their right to "protest". Most of us cannot protest at work. Most of us will be punished or fired for doing so. NFL players who think this is helping their cause are misguided. NFL Players who choose this route to make a difference are taking the easy way out. The NFL is afraid to make a policy. I wonder how the NFL would feel if all the police and security at the games decided to protest and go on strike at halftime of every NFL game for the season opener? A scary thought. Our police and our military are far more important then any off these players or any NFL game. Lets just hope they don't decide to "protest" while at work too. After all, it is their right!
  22. I think we have seen the problem with rapid GM/Coach turnover. Re-planning and changing schemes every 2-3 years will get you nowhere. Look at the best players we drafted since the drought. Most of them had their best years on another team. Even worse is drafting running backs in the first two rounds but not drafting QBs. Yikes, the bills have been the poorest managed NFL team for a very long time.
  23. Well he could have lost Watkins for nothing and they might have cut Ragland and got nothing. I'll take the 2 and the 4.
  24. Jordan Mathews is a good WR, his performance on the field back that up. The issue is that Watkins was supposed to great and an impact player. Look at the stats and you see that Mathews is a player that is ready on game day, averages 75 catches and 6 TDs per season. A solid #2 WR. Look at Watkins stats and they are not quite up to Mathews. Not nearly the production you want from a #1 WR. Especially one that is going to ask for a huge raise. You can blame injuries and you can blame Tyrod but the numbers speak for themselves.
  25. Darby was not looking good in this system. Just like he did not look very good last year either. I wish we could have got more for Watkins but his injury past is a red flag.
