  1. thanks for time and effort for this review, usually rock bottom happens once, based on the above it happened every 8 years in 97, 05 and 13
  2. rumor has it that Josh is house hunting in Austin Texas, future home of the Austin Armadillos ???
  3. I had a dream last nite...we traded Beasley for Ertz, Ertz got vaccinated...and wrote a sad country song about it
  4. the kid won us the Colts game and likewise made big kicks on the road on grass in AZ, a great pick and excellent rook season. this season improvements: better between 40-49, adjusting to the stress of crowd noise, and more experience kicking during the gusty WNY winds of Nov-Dec-Jan
  5. Marcel remains the Bills report for ESPN...and Miss Fitz joinss the Buff News: katherine fitzgerald @kfitz134 · hi everyone! I’m ecstatic to be joining @TheBuffaloNews & @TBNSports to cover the Bills! please send any & all recs for local beers & coffee shops!! I can’t wait to get started
  6. its the most wonderful time of the year; real football news and talk and games; praise the lord and pass the remote control
  7. been-done both and what really is the difference other than a bad batch or sauce selection ? Is a wing a wing, or am I missing the secret sauce here ?
  8. from her twitter homepage, 3.5 years at the AZ republic...she fitz right in with that Buf gal from down the street (next to the bar and catholic church on every corner, or used to be)...orig from balt..and unc chapel hill...as they say in charm city..."welcome hon"...
  9. I came for some eye candy and left with a helmet club subscription to the sausage factory
  10. what does re-scheduled mean really, why would an opponent want to re-schedule/accomodate and complicate its own schedule for what seems to be a minority of players who are non-compliant anti-everythings..I know I would pushback..strongly...why are you making your problem mine...enjoy the forfeit beotches
  11. is also or was the voice of Subway commercials, became a preacher for awhile, former MLB player, former NFL player, hall-of-famer, former network analyst (espn, NFLN and now coach...for how long, and whats next on the agenda ?? time to move into ownership-front office or run for office ????
  12. I knew it was you all along Fredo...you broke my heart...muh
  13. a non-issue becomes an issue for others...Cole doesnt like the fact that he has to be tested, wear a mask, have protocols applied, etc...he is a bit out of his realm when complaining about those vaccinated having issues when the varinat d strain is running rampant amongst the non-vaccinated...interesting to see what he does and in turn what the org does when training camp starts...that is all I have to say about that
  14. '71 was so long ago, Dennis Shaw was the Bills qb throwing to Marlin Brisoce and Haven Moses with James Harris as backup qb...and the Bills radio crew would often say that OJ would make a great WR...Bucks were led by the Big O and that Lew Alcindor guy plus Bobby Dandridge...coached by Larry Costello...memories of childhood
  15. I'll never forget on draft night, how upset how many of us were about wrong Josh. yep...me...all those "other" qbs available...all those...salty...bilious...scouting reports...I was disappointed...but not enough to see his very first game, first snap, first play, first bomb...call me corrected and impressed...
  16. remembering...at 9 min mark..Denver game...after 2 TDs called back...open mike on field...the very best quote from Josh...
  17. yeah, we are running on fumes waiting for training camp, pre-season games, camp news, cuts, etc...some cities celebrate championships (even multiple even different teams in same city) while we...don't....
  18. wow - I have to say that Larry Felser and Van were-are the best in Buffalo sports coverage ever...Azar and Kilgore (Clip Smith, Chuck Healey) from back in the day.. pls.pass along a few Felser highlights-insights when-if you can...I loved his Friday NFL picks in the evening news...the score with a sentence for each NFL game....the BN and BEN Friday football preview for college and pro was very, very good and very comprehensive back in the day...
  19. yes, would like to see the O work the middle of the field more, which is a staple of the BB-TB12 success formula as well as the Miami O with Tua...maybe involve the TE more as well
  20. good contrast between RJ and Ted... Ted Darling is my all-time favorite...was a product of Hockey Night In Canada (HNIC) experience before becoming the voice of the Sabres, HNIC announcers past and present are the gold standard; knowledgeable with a pro balance of passion for the game and neutrality, as in minimal homer-ism (for the most part - Leafs games may be the exception).it may be the Canadian personality/DNA, or middle-age maturity that make the games more palatable compared to say NBC games (that gawd that run is over) or other broadcasters other than our Sabres...
  21. depends on your perspective - the true fan goes to games wouldnt you say ? .but there are over 80 hockey games per year compared to 17 football games - so the math based on 100% capacity is 800k versus 560k for sellouts in favor of Sabres...you have to include Ontario as well for hockey which makes up approx 15-20 percent of the Sabres STH base, not sure the Bills match this but there are some no doubt..the fans of the 1960s are dieing off sad to say and I know and remember quite a few including STH...the loyalty, passion and money-spending ebbs and flows with the cycles of winning and loosing...I think the best numbers would be counted during respective championship victory parades in the city of Buffalo...as an ex-pat always on mind for planning purposes...hope to see you there
  22. great topic - thanks - you had me do a look-up on Connie Mack thanks to this...his Buffalo link is that he purchased shares in the players league and lost it all when the league folded...one and done with Buffalo... Baseball - Warren Spahn - best left-handed pitcher in MLB history, served in WWII - Battle of the Bulge....then Joe McCarthy - Yankees manager during the early glory years Basketball - Bob Lanier - the best baller the area has ever produced - followed by either by Bob Mcadoo - the best Brave ever - or Randy Smith - second best Football - Ralph Wilson - I know, I know... but he brought the NFL to our fair city (who else would have ?) and more importantly kept it here when he could have easily sold-out; and his passing allowed the Pegulas to do the same for years and decades to come hopefully..then OJ (then he ducks). Hockey - its a hockey town - so I am going with four for hockey.. (Gil is my boyhood idol) - lets go with the Knox family (see Wilson, Ralph above), the French Connection, the Dominator, and RJ or Ted Darling.... now excuse me whilst I step out for a cigarette (and I dont smoke).
  23. I am a child and big fan of the 1970s culture, esp sports, in addition to the Bills games...Van did the Braves games pbp and would hustle back to the WBEN studio to do the 11 PM sports broadcast...safe to say the man loved his work and knew his stuff...the quintessential Buffalo sports fan and icon...god bless ya Van and may you rest in peace (and keep watchin your Buffalo sports with us)... As for Ted Darling, the best, even better than RJ, Ted developed doing HNIC and was so smooth and experienced doing games with professionalism and enthusiasm, which I fell asleep to listening on the radio he had the playful perk where when a puck went over the glass into the crowd he would playfully (and falsely) identify where that fan was from (local area including Southern Ontario) which would add color to the dull stoppage in play. I think RJ benefitted from working with Ted and Ted has passed the torch to RJ as he has Ted's respect and enthusiasm ..Ted was not perfect, sad to say he was alcoholic...may he rest in peace...and keep going RJ...
