  1. no run game established, so tua would have gotten the ball out quicker, as the pressure dictates, so would like to see D take away his first preferences-tendencies... which has me thinking about upcoming home game with another young qb, the expected pressure and crowd noise has to have a good coach like Rivera make his qb get rid of it in 2.5 secs more or less...so your answer may come this Sunday at home..bring it...but stop the run first.
  2. keys mia - D - they pay their both corners top money - so they use man a lot but dont have an organic pass rush so they blitz - that combo seems to allow the Bills to gameplan very well as I dont see them adopting zone coverages as the Steelers did Mia - O - short-intermediate passing so far - TE vertical seams down the middle are lethal when Bills LBs blitz or are a step behind due to play action - this is a game where the Bills pass rush needs to that improvement helped by controlling the LOS-run game. Note: Will Fulller vet Mia WR with speed- will miss game due to personal reason..
  3. would this be an advanced analytic or more of an interediate or basic...inquiring minds want to know...esp if we go oh and two...
  4. that a good point, with that wingspan and some spatial dara from metrics, those 2.5 second drops should yield some smaller arc-radius throws ripe to be batted away with proper placement, like a pass defensed...oh and note to cornerbacks when you are running for 3-4-5 seconds on those longer-than-usual routes how about a read - like a focus on the head of the receiver and when you see it turn - turn yours to the ball as well -huh - maybe ???
  5. kelsay got 5 or more sacks in only 3 out of his 10 seasons, all with the Bills, of course...sigh Schobel is well, second on career sack list... and not on the wall of fame ?...and likely neve will be ??...but Hansen, Smerlas...are ??? good company guys... anwyways...between 5 and 10 is what Mario Addison has done for the past 7 seasons, and has netted him over 47M during the span - including a 2M pay cut 2.5 second qb throws are the main reason its going to be hard to sack qbs esp in Buff with the return of crowd noise... https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AddiMa00.htm
  6. in addition he started played lot more than AJE I know we want and need impact - but its reasonable to expect between 5-10 sacks from him..which is what Hughes would get in his prime... more QBs are getting the balls out in the 2.5 secs range, you have to expect that to continue given the crowd noise esp on passing downs... so
  7. good to see a analysis that is reasonable - give Pitts some credit they played well - in addition to their front 4thye changed to a zone defense scheme - a from their man-heavy schemes of the recent past led by safety Fitzpatick who played very well - he had 10 combined tackles and was a ball-hawk all game...
  8. the biggest issue this past week: 1. poor O gameplan and no adjustments to help the O-line deal with pass protection issues - this is on the O-coord 2. special teams blunder on the blocked-punt - those points were the difference 3. picking on Levi during-crunch time and not making the plays- TE seam routes down the middle - same as last season Was a kick in the nads for all of us, and the fans over-reaction comes with the high expectations...Sunday cant get here quick enough
  9. and Mahomes is undefeated in the month of Sept so far in his career, now splain that
  10. yeah and Mahomes won his first his first game this past Sun when trailing by 10+ at the half and Browns have not won an opener since 2001. and 9 upset wins this weekend won against the spread its a new year....
  11. from todays BN - grades - 3.0 for the secondary - the run D was the best grade 4/0 The Steelers targeted Tre’Davious White four times. He gave up two catches for 32 yards. They targeted Levi Wallace 10 times. He gave up four catches for 25 yards and a TD, plus two penalties for another 31 yards. That’s 56 total yards allowed, not a bad total. But when the Steelers desperately needed to make a play, Wallace is who they attacked. The tackling by the secondary was excellent. Taron Johnson had a key third-down pass breakup vs. JuJu Smith-Schuster and an end-zone breakup vs. Eric Ebron. The Bills stayed in the nickel defense every play of the game. Jordan Poyer had six tackles, including a sack. He was sent to rush the passer four times. Note - Bills played man 58% of the time which was a change - so the CBs were exposed 1:1 more than you may have known-expected
  12. plus I was surprised that Moss was inactive - so I expected a little not a lot of gameplan involving Breida and his "speed" and we got nothing, actually I will call it a negative from that move Plus Sweeney was active and played 4 downs - none on ST - so the only value to activate him is in case Knox goes down (as if Gilliam cant sub ?) Also if you watched the SNF game- the Rams also played the "light box" like to Pitts, dropping the LBs deeper and daring the Bears to run...is this the new D strategy to deal with the pass-happy offenses ??? esp when you have confidence in your front four ?
  13. I will disagree wit yam mundane morn armchair qb style, cuz when it was crunch time, the D let the Steelers move the ball, get first downs and eat clock and kick some FGs, a championship caliber D will make a stand, hold the line, get the ball back to the O for a chance to win the game, the D did not pick up the O...
  14. its one only game... and really each team (O, D, ST) and respective coaching has to share blame...sucks when D knows what play you are running at a critical stage (pitch to Breida for loss of what 7 !)...you dont deserve to win when you allow a blocked punt to score...and the D did not rise up and stop Pitts come crunch time to bail out the O... Next...tough road game in heat at Miami - likey do better against man schemes that fish use extensively on D...so lets see some better coaching and effort
  15. same issues as last season - the TE working the middle on seam routes and focus picking on Levi Wallace....
  16. hmmm - top selling NFL jersies at this site ? jersies are sold everywhere-elsewhere, so I am bit skeptical of the grand total....
  17. happy for him and al familia - but the highest paid d player ??? Donald, Bosa are better for sure maybe both the Bosas ? Dont think I'd pay a CB that kind of money nor a LB like Mack either...
  18. wow - the second question is the winner of the...who is lower than whale poop, former winners include: BB, all-phins-all-the-time, and Vontae Davis...
  19. enjoyed his work, kind of second opinion to Joe B, likely to be replaced and certainly un-followed in move to the evil empire of the east..
  20. add high school valedictorian and has his degree from LSU...good family upbringing...the brother has a good head on his shoulders....luv his sense of humor from the various clips over the years...the one from his hockey academy where he called sabre goalie Hutton...Sutton...killed me...
  21. well it beats opening (and struggling) with the Jets...Pitts went 11-0 to start last season before a significant fade, so Big Ben is fresh and I expect a tough game. Focus points: 1. IOL - I do expect blitzes, stunts and good 1:1 pressure from the inside, Ford esp has to prove he can handle, Morse will likely need help with Heyward as well. 2. Watt (expected to play)- D Williams had a strong game last time - pretty much handled Watt 1:1 so we can spare double-team here for better inside support 3. Bills pass rush - eyes on Rousseau for impact, AND Addison played close to 60% last season, there should be some synergy between playing Addison less and getting more pressures-sacks. Better organic pressure, less blitzing = better coverage esp middle of field and TEs... 4. Bills run D - does Star have impact, does Oliver continue to improve, can Milano stay healthy as undersized LB ? 5. Butler - if-when they decide to bring Stevenson back from IR his roster spot comes to mind first, given 3 current DT subs (Zim, Harry, Butler) behind Star and Ollie, plus Butler would be 4M in cap savings as Bills are second-from-last in cap room....
  22. meh not going to waste time and dignify amateur journalism with a page hit...
  23. Joe Gibbs on his great run with the skins back in the day, said we will never be out-captained, psycho edge more than anything...some locker room cred for some leadership...but on a more important note I think McD has a players leadership group or used to ? to help with communication and points of emphasis which would be helpful with culture, communication and two-way feedback coach(es) and team...
  24. could he become a #2 receiver ? I see him as the very valuable 3rd wide out - sideline-boundary - behind Diggs and Sanders (not to mention Cole in the slot - and whatever the downgrade TEs can give down the middle and seams ) ? Like DIggs he was a middle-round pick, and has been praised for grasping the playbook, routes, and just plain getting open and making nice catches on the sidelines
