Fair points. I think what Florida is doing is specific to their state. Currently states can opt out of DST and stay on standard time, but no state has the option of staying on DST. They'd simply like that option. If that happens and you go on a cross country road trip, just crank up the Chicago tune: "Does anybody really know what time it is."

Why is he publicizing ED. Seems to me that's a very personal thing that should be kept to himself.

I live in Florida as well. This is one of the states pushing for permanent DST. I'm quite certain a big reason is tourism. Visitors like to get up and watch the sun rise on the Eastern side and sun set on the Western side. In both cases it's better if it's later. You can sleep in a bit before the sun rises, and it's nicer to go to dinner around 7pm, then have drinks and watch the sun set. In the winter you'd have to get the early bird special before watching the sun set.

It's all about conditioning....

I think the Miami Dolphins players are brainwashed. No organization is that perfect. I think they spend most of their off time in the town of Stepford. And the Bills players might be getting sick of the turkey burgers.
