I'd guess first dibbs on a new GM. New GM can then get a start on next year to include draft prep. Marrone can be released later. The Bill's likely would have liked Waley's replacement set further before the draft but it was too close. In contrast, this gives a replacement 4 months or so if hired tomorrow. That's my 2 cent guess.

I want the Ravens again in the playoffs...

..and compare to now. If Daboll left the Bills now have the credibility to get a top tier replacement. -
Dear Devin Singletary: PLEASE don't become fumble prone!

Watt had a huge windup with enough power to disembowel a lesser man. Good thing he missed. When you're known to fumble you invite these strip tactics by the defense. It's one reason why I like Gore and his ball security. -
Props to McDermott and Beane for changing the culture

That's certainly a useful tactic in the first half if you weren't going to use them otherwise. -
If Beane continues to bundle picks to trade up and get non-QBs I'll be disappointed.

For deep completions, the Kelly to Lofton connection was memorable. Kelly really put some arc on his deep balls. Two hall-of-famers playing catch.

This is the game right? Win and in?

Agree. Quite a beating he took. Hoping Daboll has an adjustment ready should Pitt start to rattle Allen. -

The National Media, TV Personality Narrative

The Dallas love-fest scripted by CBS was derailed. I would have hoped for something better than Emmett cheering a missed field goal on the broadcast. Too much rambling by announcers on Dallas drama while the game was going on. Seemed more like an audition for TMZ than two guys who actually liked football. The sideline reporter added nothing. -
Many Cowboys fans pulling for the Bills

I agree. It's not a Washington level of problem. Must be they see good as the enemy of great. -

Steelers QB Mason Rudolph fined $50K by NFL

What would the offenses committed by Moe alone in a Three Stooges short constitute in fines if committed in an NFL game? -
The O-line play! Fantastic.

revisiting 2018 draft possibilities. Did we overpay?
In Summary replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. One counterpoint is that some will say that with 9 draft picks you're not going to be able to sign them all or there are not enough open spots on the team. However, that assumes a GM is skilled to the point that they know all of their picks are NFL material - which is never the case. Nobody hits 100%. Beane has shown he would rather draft one player in the 2nd round rather than 2 players from the 3rd and 5th round respectively (made up example). Most times, I'd rather have a couple more draftees available to fight it out in camp and show they belong rather than assume I'm definitely going to hit on one player I bundled picks to get. QB is the exception. -
Football is just a vehicle for his activism or maybe just a secondary passion. The Duke Johnson story was a good example of what a truly football centric person would do to play in the NFL.

2020 Draft Position and Potential Targets
In Summary replied to STL-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Next year's success can't be based on rookie acquisitions because, well, they're rookies. Marv Levy never liked playing rookies so he said. Point being, yes, draft what is BPA and/or need, but don't get spun up about thinking a rookie's potential will be seen in year one.
