  1. The O-line play! Fantastic.
  2. Warren Moon arguably threw the prettiest spiral of all time.
  3. Agree. One counterpoint is that some will say that with 9 draft picks you're not going to be able to sign them all or there are not enough open spots on the team. However, that assumes a GM is skilled to the point that they know all of their picks are NFL material - which is never the case. Nobody hits 100%. Beane has shown he would rather draft one player in the 2nd round rather than 2 players from the 3rd and 5th round respectively (made up example). Most times, I'd rather have a couple more draftees available to fight it out in camp and show they belong rather than assume I'm definitely going to hit on one player I bundled picks to get. QB is the exception.
  4. Football is just a vehicle for his activism or maybe just a secondary passion. The Duke Johnson story was a good example of what a truly football centric person would do to play in the NFL.
  5. Next year's success can't be based on rookie acquisitions because, well, they're rookies. Marv Levy never liked playing rookies so he said. Point being, yes, draft what is BPA and/or need, but don't get spun up about thinking a rookie's potential will be seen in year one.
  6. Making a comeback when you do not have football as your singular focus? Not seeing it.
  7. Assume he wants to be a starter or nothing. How many teams can accommodate that situation? Is he now open to the idea of being a backup?
  8. Ok, enough with deep shots today. 1st downs. That's your mission.
  9. Lee Smith signature play...
  10. Yes OBJ. Argue with Mayfield.
  11. Yes. Falling in love with players and trading up hasn't yielded better results than letting the draft fall to us naturally IMO. QB is the only position that justifies bundling picks.
  12. "I am here to watch a game. " Well said.
  13. More so than Jets, Giants, Titans.
  14. Dallas will be a challenging road game.
  15. Clear PI against Giants receiver. Challenged and call withheld. NFL has no interest in reversing calls.
  16. Was rooting for Indy and coach Reich. Close game.
  17. Because they are pro athletes and have no interest in following the "plan" to tank.
  18. Defense: Have to figure out a better role for Edmunds. Offense: Allen is not a running back.
  19. When you don't have a Bruce Smith, you Tre.
  20. No interceptions or fumbles by Allen.
  21. Unlikely to see the degree of turnover the OP suggests. Next season, there will inevitably be players playing in positions that will frustrate fans. We'll talk about getting two new tackles but will end up getting one that is better and hope that is enough to stabilize the line. We'll want Ford out of the RT position but they'll either see progression or move him to guard and we'll hope they are correct. No way you blow up the roster at this point. It's continual incremental improvement at this point. Add an impactful RT, WR, and DE and you've got a substantially better team IMO.
  22. I see it as a "we can collectively do better and need not be impulsive" statement. It's not a papal decree. Just a challenge to do better.
