  1. This was not "Playoff Caliber" football nor is it a sign that we're "Peaking at the right time".
  2. Apparently it snows in Winter up north. Thanks media.
  3. I remember a big sign in the stadium saying, "Marino loves Cox". ❤️ Good times.
  4. Please give me DaQuan Jones for the pick six.
  5. ARMY: Train the way you fight NFL Team: Practice the way you play If the Bills want a cold weather advantage, they have to practice in it.
  6. Good post. I'm the same. I started watching some Cover 1 stuff and I had no idea how much I've always missed in terms of X&Os, individual technique, "concepts", etc. My revelation is that what is happening is happening very quickly. It's almost like the challenge of watching hockey and learning to not lose sight of the puck. Cover 1 will break down a few plays and stop after just a few frames to break the plays or individual play into digestible segments. Without this it's just a blur to me. The TV coverage is selective and doesn't compare with the All 22. Replays seem scarce. We see a player "miss" a tackle when in analysis, it wasn't their assignment to begin with and the guilty party is out of the frame. Interceptions always look like the QB's fault unless you know where the receiver was supposed to be. Point being that bombastic claims of failure and incompetence are often un-justified. Watching the Cover 1 segments has greatly softened my overly critical views on Edmunds. I've come to really appreciate some of the D-line play. The more I understand the game, the more the peripheral stuff like gambling, player celebrities, non-game drama, sports politics, etc. have zero interest to me.
  7. No need to "save him for later". This a is a big divisional game. If it's a 3 call-up consideration, sit him for the Bears.
  8. Quite a thread. I bet the beds at ECMC are full up with so many having been offended by a comment made by a person nobody pays attention to.
  9. Beasley had taken some serious physical punishment when he left us. Dude was beat up. Looking forward to what he may be able to do for the few remaining games.
  10. Lost me when the promo said, "Veteran Slot Man".
  11. I've decided the Allen MVP thing means almost nothing to me. Team game. Win the super bowl. History will judge accordingly.
  12. Too many factors make Dorsey safe. 1st year OC Questionable OL talent at the guards Slot receiver not emerging after Crowder gets injured. The popular view is that this is an Allen/Diggs high powered offensive team, but I'd say the Bills identity is really that of a premier Defensive team who also have two marquee offensive players. In the off-season, I thought both OL and DL were weak in the middle. Beane did a great job in getting D. Jones with Oliver and Edmunds benefitting greatly. Dorsey does pretty well with what he has. If I were to pick at him, it would be on whatever lack of focus is leading to dropped passes.
  13. Arguably because they're not simple. OL needs to convincingly sell it, slip their opposing D-lineman, yet not be illegally downfield. QB needs an open passing lane through the lines or do a risky lob over rushers. You have to have the DL rush or even overcommit rather than play a contain on Allen. Agree that we haven't seen an effective screen game since the Thurman days.
  14. Barring a tragic collapse in the remaining regular season games and a bad 1st round playoff exit, Dorsey is completely safe.
  15. Yes. Odd post-game coverage plus the app drops my podcasts and I have to restart often. Hot garbage.
  16. Bodies will struggle to last 18 games plus playoffs. It'll shorten careers. Would need to consider the 60 players and two in-season byes.
  17. We will then set the edge as none have ever done before.
  18. I have no trouble calling Dawkins out for bad plays or how a particular matchup was unfavorable. I just don't buy into this "move him to guard" noise as if he's not fit for the LT position. It's possible that if he's the best O-lineman on the Bills, he doesn't have someone pushing him. The Bills need to decide on scheme and their preferred O-lineman body type. They may also be obsessed with positional versatility. The selection and handling of Ford and Teller was interesting. Ford was a slow-footed tackle with a 6.36 RAS was taken in the 2nd. Teller, strong as an ox and taken in the 5th with an 8.8 RAS, apparently wasn't a good fit for their scheme (??). Dawkins isn't a problem to me, it's the Bills' changing run philosophy and talent assessment of the OL. I'm hopeful they can do for the interior OL what they did with the interior DL. Arguably you get a guard next to Dawkins that is above average in both run and pass blocking (thinking of Reuben Brown / Incognito) and you now have a strong side of the line. Dawkins then looks like an All-star. I'd be interested to hear what someone who was OL football savvy had to say about the what the Bills need on the left side vs the right side.
  19. Media aren't people. I'd take Boston over NYC.
  20. The organization has been overly comfortable with Allen being their running game.
  21. WGR is unlistenable on that point. Chewing up clock with the run while extending a lead on a team that can't score quickly is a beautiful thing. Keeps your defense fresh. It's got to be a viable option.
  22. Agree. This is a nothing Burger with blue cheese dressing on it.
